  1. poor AVB has nothing to work with in terms of playing to his footballing philosophy. Its like trying to build a bridge with sand
  2. there isn't Chris Smalling to score a 90th minute own goal for us this time either
  3. romeu to the rescue again. where would we be without him and Mata?
  4. unlucky Malouda. not a lot he could have done with that ball
  5. and once again McEachran is overlooked by AVB...
  6. if only we had taken the offer of Paolo Maldini as a defensive coach under Carlo
  7. good for you Juan. Gets his reward for looking like the only player who gives a fuck.
  8. improve or the league title is 100% gone
  9. Its a talent you either have or you don't (or you are Emile Heskey)
  10. Moment of 2011 Torres scoring his first goal for us against West Ham and the stadium absolutely erupting. Kalou's winner against Spurs also worthy of a mention. Man of 2011 Mr Daniel Sturridge has improved incredibly this year. At the start of 2011 he was a substitute and reserve player and now he is probably the best striker at the club. Villain of 2011 Anelkalouda Torres. I mean he's just shit isn't he? Hope for 2012. Realistically I would love us to win the FA Cup
  11. As much as i appreciate that Chalobah will be a terrific player for us in the future, he really is not ready IMO. Only his physique is holding him back and as a centre back it is imperative that you are strong. Any other position would probably be OK for a small 17 year old to play in but centre back is very important in stopping goals being scored and I fear that he is not ready for Premier League action yet.
  12. Brilliant match. Saw it on Premier League Years on Sky a few days back. Amazing difference in what the Bridge was like then. Who would have thought that 10 years later we would be winning the league under a billionaire owner?
  13. lol He should have been spending that time learning not to dribble the ball off the pitch though
  14. If Luiz isn't fit then we must play Romeu at centre-back. I think he played there against Genk at home and for a bit against Fulham in the Carling Cup and looked very convincing. Playing Bosingwa there again could be a disaster
  15. Very temped to get 'Heskey 9' on the back of my shirt next season
  16. Just like Ancelotti did when he arrived in 2009. He gave Drogba the chance to prove himself and Didier scored 30+ goals and won us the league and FA cup
  17. To be honest I don't know why people are not content with AVB. We need to remember, with all respect to him, that he is not a world class manager yet because he has barely been a manager for 2 years. Despite this, people expect him to be some sort of carbon copy of Mourinho, Hiddink or Ancelotti in his first year when he is still learning and to be challenging for major honours with a squad which was past its sell-by date two years ago. The media has done him no favours by using his sole success at Porto to try to make him out to be some sort of 34 year old God who will make this ageing squad finish top of the league above a Man City side who have assembled a squad of vast size and superior quality to ours. As impressive as he was at Porto and Nacional, managing a side full of huge egos who feel that they should among the very best in the world is always going to cause problems for a manager a matter of months older than most of the players.
  18. So would I but considering we are only paying £7 million-ish for him we are hardly taking a massive gamble
  19. Pretty average if you ask me. Its just that he is English that the media make him out to be so good
  20. Regardless of his guilt or not, LFC fans are just reaffirming themselves (if it was even needed) as the mindless idiots most of them are! and they call us chavs...
  21. even if they park the bus we should still beat that stupid small club down the road. I'd give Lampard a game and Mata needs a rest. We also have a game 5 days later too. My team would be: Cech Ferreira Luiz Terry Cole Romeu Lampard Meireles Malouda Drogba Sturridge Subs: Torres McEachran Turnbull Bertrand Mikel Mata Lukaku
  22. Once again he came on and had virtually no impact. We can say 'give him playing time' but the fact is we gave him several games to prove himself last season at the expense of Drogba who is far better and nothing came of it. We can't keep risking throwing away results because we can't score goals because we have Torres up front so that almost a year down the line he can 'prove himself'. Last season we were moaning that nobody was giving him service (although I must point out that Benayoun put Torres through on goal several times against Wigan and Newcastle) so we bring in Mata. Still nothing from Torres though apart from a goal against Swansea and Man U and a brace against Genk (in a game where he also missed two absolute sitters) Sorry Nando but you never have and probably never will look anything like you did at Liverpool.
