How much of Adrian Mutu's finest powdery substance was consumed by the Board of Directors before deciding that signing Steve Sidwell and Tal Ben-Haim would be a good idea?

Stamford Bridge set for major redevelopment?
Liquidator replied to BlueLion.'s topic in Chelsea Articles
If we are keeping the existing structure of the east stand below it then no. It already cantelivers out in a way that it wouldn't be able to reasonably support a fourth tier. -

Might ask some of the architects I work with tomorrow about how they'd expand. I imagine it would be MH being expanded because decking over the district line behind it would be cheaper than demolishing the shed end. We could do both though. East and west stands are already at their maximum heights allowed by the council. East stand uses it's limited space very efficiently too in terms of seating rake and evacuation times so rebuilding that even with decking would not give us much more there, maybe 5k if decking went over the London overground line behind it. Adding a 3rd tier or expanding upper tier of MHL would be feasible. Decking and exit over district line towards West Brompton would be needed, as well as purchase of homes other side of district line due to rights to sunlight but that would presumably be ok to do. Rake of MH upper tier matches that of east upper so it would still look good and fit in with the style of the stadium. If we were to redesign the shed end I'd start again. It may be feasible to create a single tier stand like in the battersea proposals. This could improve atmosphere. Again there is the exit issue and office space that we'd need to purchase behind the shed end. Demolishing these offices (located behind old shed wall) would expand egress space which would help us meet health and safety laws. -
West Brom vs Burnley really isn't a Live Ford 'Super' Sunday is it?

To be fair arsenal probably get £30m to our £25m because they gave Emirates their stadium naming rights -
I don't care how many games he gets banned for/if it costs us the league, if he choke slams Rio Ferdinand when we play QPR on 1 November he deserves a statue next to Ossie

With regard to this whole fan comparison thing I prefer to judge how much of a fan I am by comparing myself with someone in a similar situation to me. I go to about 35 games per season in total and live next door to a Chelsea fan who has a similar amount of time, money and other commitments and he goes to about 5 games per season. The fact that I give up more of my time and money etc while having an almost identical day to day life makes me more of a fan in my opinion. However I cannot compare my situation with that of someone from Australia. It isn't reasonable to expect an Aussie to attend 30 games per season because they are on the other side of the world. If you get up at the ridiculous times you have to in Australia to watch a game but your Chelsea supporting friend also in Australia does not then that makes you more of a fan than them. It's all about comparing yourself to similar people.

Hold up a minute, if Lampard had deliberately missed on Sunday (which in the eyes of one or two he should have) wouldnt that have been match-fixing? I think an extended ban from football for fixing the outcome of a match would ruin his reputation more than scoring against us once
-
yes they do. They are quoted by many past players there during the financial takeovers about how they maintained the family atmosphere at the club. They do a load of community projects and work to do with local schools and are expanding their stadium but keeping their season ticket prices as the lowest in the Premier League for adults.

Chelsea resume their assault on the Premier League title this Saturday, welcoming a youthful Aston Villa side that has made an impressive start to the season to Stamford Bridge for a 15:00 GMT kick off. As the nights begin to draw in and Autumn looms Jose Mourinho must once again adapt his squad to a two game per week schedule and will be hoping to continue where he left off on Wednesday evening by halting Aston Villa's superb start to their league campaign. A team virus put pay to Villa's unbeaten start on Saturday as quickfire goals from Ozil, Welbeck and a Cissokho own goal saw Paul Lambert's men go down 0-3 to Arsenal. Chelsea meanwhile drew 1-1 with title challengers Manchester City. A late strike from Blues legend Frank Lampard cancelled out Andre Schurrle's goal. The Opposition Paul Lambert has been quick to answer his critics this season by guiding his young side to 3 wins and a draw in their opening 5 league games. A second round Capital One Cup defeat at the hands of Leyton Orient may be seen as a blessing in disguise for the Birmingham-based side who will look to build on last season's 15th placed finish. The acquisition of experienced Premier League stars such as Joe Cole, Philippe Senderos and Kieran Richardson to guide promising young talents like Andreas Weimann and Fabian Delph looks to have paid dividends with Villa looking far more threatening than in previous years. Despite taking 10 points from a possible 15, Aston Villa have already faced two of last season's top 4. Not over the early season fixture hump yet, Paul Lambert must prepare his side for the stern tests that Manchester City and Everton will pose over the next fortnight too. Tactically, Villa can be expected to use the blistering pace of Gabriel Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann on the counter attack. In the absence of Christian Benteke both players have found some sort of goalscoring form and have both bagged 2 goals from wide positions so far this season although it must be added that Agbonlahor has increasingly been taking up central positions. Aston Villa's recent trip to Anfield proved just how frustrating they can be against the bigger sides on the road. Scoring from their only shot on target and enjoying only 26% possession as well as stringing together only 60% of their 269 passes highlights just how hard the Midlands side fought for the points. It was also one of the three clean sheets they have already kept this season, showing that Paul Lambert's men are able to contain their opponents well. Team News: Chelsea- The home side will almost certainly revert to the familiar back five of Thibaut Courtois, Branislav Ivanovic, John Terry, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta. Fabregas, Hazard and Diego Costa can also be expected to come back into the side after sitting out the midweek victory over Bolton. Ramires may feature after overcoming injury. Likely line up (4-2-3-1): Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Matic, Fabregas; Hazard, Willian, Schurrle; Diego Costa Aston Villa- A bit of guesswork is required in order to predict Aston Villa's lineup this weekend given that illness has swept through playing staff over the last 10 days. Fabian Delph, Brad Guzan and Nathan Baker have been among the victims of the virus but could play. Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar are not expected to return until next week. Likely line up (4-5-1): Guzan; Hutton, Senderos, Clark, Cissokho; Weimann, Cleverley, Sanchez, Delph, Richardson; Agbonlahor Statistics: Since the 2007/08 season only 2 games between Chelsea and Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge have finished with less than 4 goals Four of these meetings saw 2 or more penalties awarded during the match Our all-time record against Aston Villa is P 148 W 57 D 34 L 57 Andre Schurrle had 9 more shots than the entire Bolton team on Wednesday Our biggest defeat against Villa was 7-1 in 1951/52 and our biggest win was 8-0 in 2012/13 Odds: Courtesy of SkyBet Chelsea Win: 1/5 Draw: 11/2 Aston Villa Win: 12/1 TV Coverage: UK: Highlights Match of the Day 22:30 USA: NBC Sports Live Extra Middle East: BeIN Sports Others see here http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/1207049/chelsea-vs-aston-villa/ There should be many match streams that can be found online if your local sports channels are not broadcasting the game. I don't see how further down the line, in 40 or so years, how people could still hold a grudge against Lamps for scoring against us once after 13 years of being an incredible player for us. Will you really let one goal tarnish everything? Even if, and it is highly unlikely, it costs us the title this season, will you remember this goal over his 2 at Bolton, penalty against Liverpool, impossible goal vs Barca, captaining us in the 2012 Champions League final, scoring in the 2008 final, becoming our all time top goalscorer at Villa Park, the last minute goal against Stoke, scoring the winner in the 2009 FA Cup Final, being key in our first ever double. I could go on and on and on.

It's a common phrase that means the person you are directing the comment at is being arrogant. It isn't personal to you and your body, more your opinion. You reacted in an over sensitive manner. what you originally said is that everyone agrees with you deep down or something and that you have the balls to say these things. Is that being disrespectful by saying that people should not think for themselves or that your opinion is more worthy?
-
But I don't get this? Why should he not want to score? He is playing for a football club against another football club. He is employed to try to make his team win football matches. If he doesn't try to score, he isn't doing his job. Why should he not do his job just because he used to do the same job for his opponents? It goes against his profession attitude and his contract. He was desperate to score because he wanted to do his job. He would have been in the same place against any other team. It doesn't remove his legend status because he did his job for another team. What would Man City supporters think if he just stood in the middle of the pitch for 20 minutes. He is paid to play for them, he has no reason not to regardless of who he is playing against. It would be disrespectful if he hadn't played as well as he could for his club (employers). Would you not feel guilty if on payday your money came into your bank account but you know during the month you have bunker off work early, not done what is required of you and damaged your company by not helping the people you work for, who you are letting down as well? I think they'd be pretty pissed that you were getting paid as much as them for half the effort.
-
Insulted you? I told you it was an arrogant point of view to take saying that 'you all know I'm right'.
-
So you expect him to stand around and be totally unprofessional, going completely against the brilliant professionalism he showed for 13 years at Chelsea? No I don't know you're right. I think you should get your head out of your arse thinking we all have the same short-sighted, disrespectful and childish opinion as you.

This place is making RAWK's refereeing conspiracies look sensible. Absolutely ridiculous.
-
Wow. What toolboxes for not forgetting everything Lamps has done for 13 years for the sake of 20 minutes playing against us.Just read the whole post. Totally ridiculous and unreasonable. I'm embarrassed. Didn't need to do score? You think he should just balloon it over the bar? Ffs
-
Glad the fans at the Etihad had the sense and respect that a lot of fans on this forum clearly lack and didn't show us all up as a bunch of morons who hate a player for doing his job and being sad about scoring against us.
-
No. Just to consider what these 2 have done for the club for the last 13 years instead of in 1 game. We dropped 2 points not 3 as well and it was Schurrle's fault.
-
Criticising 2 of our best players ever like pieces of dirt. Please do everyone a favour and never set foot in Stamford Bridge

I'm staggered. Absolutely staggered.
