  1. Ive seen it work 10 times worse the other way, my best mate is piratically the most sought after lad in my town when im with him and we walk past girls there practically on the floor dribbling begging him to take his top off, just like lads do with certain women too.
  2. How the hell did UpTheChels with an inactive manager, manage to beat Blue Bulls 7-1?
  3. Moses offered us more balance when he came on, he was direct something Hazard, Mata and Oscar aren't. In future i think the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 should be two of Hazard, Mata and Oscar then one of Marin and Moses to offer the width.
  4. Its got the point i would even accept Heskey on a short term deal.
  5. No i didn't expect a goal fest, i expect Torres to get involved a bit more however. The main point is Didier and Hasselbaink our previous two number one forwards had to work their socks off to earn that title, Torres has just been handed it.
  6. The league's a different kettle of fish, we have to be on top off our game all season, and i think it will take time for the new team to gel. I'd love be wrong and you can happily rip me come the end if i am. Personally i think we might have a bit of a blip soon but i think we will end the season really strong (similar to United in 05/06) giving us a good platform to get the title back in 2014. Having said that the only season since 2005 bar this one i didn't think we could win it we did (Carlo's first season) so if im wrong again great . Funnily enough however i actually think we have a good chance of retaining the CL, the team will gel more by the time the knockout round come (if we go through) and if we can somehow get Cavani or Falcao in i might lump money on it.
  7. Im not pessimistic, in terms of the future of this club we are in a better position than ever before, but this season should be about developing a new style, gelling our players and getting back in the Champions League via the domestic route.
  8. No one since the premier league began has won the League from a 4th or any below place finish the previous season. You think were change that stat when we only have one forward who actually shoots?
  9. We won't make up the 25 point gap on City and United in one season, our focus should be 3rd and the biggest threat to that happening are Arsenal, so i hope they get their arses handed to them today. Get back above Arsenal and Spurs this season, then we will focus on bringing the Mancs crashing to their knees next term.
  10. Nico was played out of position by every manager bar Scolari, but he just got on with it and scored us goals that helped us win trophies. and stop with the service excuse, he has Oscar, Hazard and Mata behind him yesterday and had arguably his worse performance in a Chelsea shirt. I hate the fact the club has given him number 1 forward role for doing nothing, Drogba wasn't known as number 1 forward until he well and truly earned that title in his third season here, and when he dropped down to Torres at Chelsea esque form under Scolari he payed for it, as Nico was number 1 for most of the Brazilians reign. Danny may not be perfect but until we either sign some one or Torres shows a bit of fight to earn the number 1 position, then Danny should be number 1, end off.
  11. Put him on the bench and get Danny to say hi to him when they crossover.
  12. I like Rodgers but the job is too big for him like it was for Roy. Agree that Liverpool are awful tho, can genuinely see them fighting relegation before long.
  13. That's the point tho, Rodgers has already failed in a Championship version of a similar transition (Watford to Reading) and you would have thought Liverpool would have learned from the Roy nightmare.
  14. Rodgers is another example of a mid table miracle man getting a top job and not knowing what the hell to do. Anyone who wants Moyes at Chelsea next time we have a managerial vacancy, bare that in mind.
  15. Rodgers is another Roy, like i said from the start.
  16. The thing with Didier is while he was inconsistent there was always signs that there was a class player there. His performance at Anfield in the 4-1 win (his best in a Chelsea shirt even to this day), Bayern Munich both times, Arsenal 1-0, West Ham 4-1 and there was more too, has there been one Torres performance in a Chelsea shirt that suggest's he is or use to be world class? The Old Trafford game last season was about as close as it got, and even in that one he missed a open goal. I agree with all of that but its a bit harsh to call him a mercenary considering he took a pay cut to move to Liverpool in the first place, which makes the contract we offered him all the more bewildering, surely he would have accepted a minimal pay rise if not the same he was on at Liverpool.
  17. No MOTM today? unacceptable, Malouda back in now.
  18. What's your opinion on Turnbull's performance at Anfield last season?
  19. It was a myth that he wasn't prepared too, Lampard has been dropped for a fair number of RDM games.
  20. The false nine is the most over-rated formation in the world. Barca make it work because they have a footballing freak playing that role. Yes it has it's moment's, but its far too often easy to play against, look at the Spain and Italy group stage match at the Euro's as the prime example. For 60 minutes it looked like Spain were running into walls.
  21. Remember that bloke OssiesCorner that came on after the Reading game and lambusted half the forum for criticizing Torres? Where the fuck he is now?
  22. Weird to think he is playing with someone who was born in the same town as me (George Friend).
  23. Whenever i have been abroad, Accrington Stanley have been the most popular.
  24. If were going to use that logic then Asier Del Horno was in the top 3 left back's back in 2005/2006.
