To think, he was available at a mere £24m start of last summer (before he signed that contract to boost his price). Although having said that, after what happened in Munich, its hard to regret anything that happened last season, even that.

I agree that it is good he is scoring and with the midfield we have now he should be able to get 15 goals this season, but despite the goals this season he has frustrated and can you see him winning a big game for us in the face of adversity when the chips are down? I can't, he will score the odd goal that will win us will us three points aswell as a load of goals when were cruising (ala last night), we have basically got a more expensive version of Kalou on our hands. The only difference was Kalou never had all the leeway and excuses.

Yeah but considering one of the team's don't have a manager, the form of UpTheChels players will be fucked, you should be able to get your tactics wrong against managerless teams and still win, or atleast avoid a hammering, now ive said that ive got them next And yeah you should have won against me, but my players took their chances took their chances when presented to them.

I actually think for this particular one Cole is more vulnerable, Ivanovic has a good track record in this game (when playing right back) where-as Cole has always had trouble with Walcott, who ironically is the opponent Bertrand has had his best career game to date against.
-
Maybe, although that would surely mean benching Mata.

@Ryan Fong, This will first time Luiz has faced Arsenal in Chelsea colours, i actually reckon had he been selected last season 4 or the 5 goals we conceded at The Bridge would have been prevented. In fact i think there are 9 nailed on starters for this one, the only question marks is whether Lampard is fit and whether Robbie chooses Bertrand or Ramires as his defensive winger.
-
@Ryan Fong, It will defiantly be Terry and Luiz for this one.
-
Speaking of West Ham i have the away game down as a likely loss, as good as our new players are going to look on the eye, the likes of Big Sam are going to have the measure of them.
-
Maybe we can win a penalty against Arsenal this time, its been a while 11 years to be precise.
-
All matches are different tho, i could say if they play the way they did against Sunderland or Montpellier were laughing. My biggest worry is the pivot, Cazorla will lol a Mikel and Lampard combination out of The Emirates.
-
Cech, Ivanovic, Terry, David Luiz, Cole, Mikel, Hazard, Mata.Torres. Looking at the way the teams have been rotated in the last 2 games those are the 9 definite starters the rest of the team boils down to whether Lampard is fit and whether Robbie prefers Ramires or Bertrand as he will want a defensive winger. Robbie hasn't lost in the League against Arsenal as a manager, so fingers crossed.

I really hope he does not get picked for the Confederations cup next summer.

If that one doesn't work there are a few other links on firstrow aswell

200k a week? I actually think he will be gone in the summer, we will not bend over to any demands as we shown with Ballack, Joe Cole and Drogba. It will be a one year deal on reduced terms or leave, same goes for Lampard.
-
It wasn't that tho, the goal actually came from him neglecting his defensive duties after losing the ball 25 yards from goal, he took an outrageous gamble that Bosingwa off all players saved from backfiring. Bossy deserves the most praise for the late goal because he actually prevented Barca from nicking it again.
-
I see what you mean and i do think Lampard in the pivot is causing more harm than good, which is why IMO if we are going to stick to that formation he should be an option in the 3, not a definite starter but he offers something different to the players we are playing there atm.
-
No, so we can get rid of te double pivot that will ruin our season.
-
I think Lampard can play a big role this season, if he is managed right and his game time is distributed correctly. I honestly think we should return to 4-3-3 and Lampard can still make an impact in the top of the first three, and his experience alone will help the young lads. But we will need to be careful how often we play him, he should play once a week and i hope Roy does that aswell when we England play.
-
I hope not, he will have the perfect development platform if he can help Boro get promoted, preferably via the play off's so he has some big game experience under his belt.

If we do win this were have to think of a way to remind Liverpool fans that they have never been world champions every time we face them How many times have you been world champions? that's right none, no history ouch I hate how this tournament gets undervalued, its a chance to be Champions of the world for god sake. Not only that it's the only tournament where European teams can face world wide teams competitively and play games other than friendly's outside of Europe. I will be gutted if we don't win this in all honesty. Do they play similar to Stoke in that respect? if so we have a very tough match on our hands should we both make the final. Hopefully the players will be up for it knowing that some may never get a chance to play in this type of tournament again.

@RyanDavidson Anelka and Drogba were shit for the 6 months prior to Nando coming in, so it made sense at the time to try and evolve the team. The thing is with Torres, he was poor himself but it was widely thought that he needed a change of scene to reignight his career, shame it hasn't worked out like that but i can genuinely say apart from Crespo (who was my favorite non Chelsea players for years before the Argentine came to us) i have never been so excited about a signing before. Their are thing's that have worked against Torres in his Chelsea career and not all has been his fault but there are other things which are. I don't think Carlo playing his debut against Liverpool helped because it turned the game into a media frenzy. Has it also ever crossed the mind of some of you guys that the OTT support he gets could be hindering him? putting even more pressure to deliver. I don't buy this he's a victim of his price tag, that's bollax, he always knew he would command a huge fee if he left Liverpool, he knew he would cost a bomb and with it be under pressure to perform, the simple fact is he has no mental strength at all. A little knock and he's back in his shell, i hope to god he didn't hear the Chelsea fans laugh at Stoke's "Didier Drogba he would have scored that" chant or he is truly finished. I shown incredible patience at the start, in the first six months despite 1 goal in 23 i refused to even contemplate the thought of his being a flop, i was convinced he would come good. Then again im like that with every signing we make, i was actually disappointed we didn't give Kezman one more season to prove himself. When Torres scored against United, Swansea and Genk and in the middle had a promising performance against Valencia at the Mestailla where he was desperately unlucky not to score i thought we been through the worse, i was convinced he was back and going to fire in goal after goal but after that mini run he went on a 24 game goal drought. It wasn't until the Blackburn and Liverpool (Carling cup) i started to think hang on a minute and for weeks he wasn't getting a look in but i though ok ill hold back Didier is going away to the ACON in January so he will get a run in the team then. I waited and 2012 started really good with the performances against Wolves and Sunderland but a sitter missed against Norwich, dreadful performances against QPR and Swansea he was right deep in another rout, he had the chance to claim his place in the team with Drogba away and he fucked it up. His finest hour in a Chelsea shirt was at the Nou Camp, but even then he nearly fucked up the tie and 180 minutes of hard work from the rest of our team, trying to dribble it out in his own 25 yard area, loses it, walks up the field in a strop while Bosingwa off all players makes an interception that prevented two Barca players going one on one against Cech the Cole hoofed it up and Torres was the hero. If im honest it made me cringe looking at all the praise Torres was getting when on the night there were 12 heroes who deserved the praise more (if you consider none of them 12 went up field in a sulk after losing the ball in a dangerous area and were more astute with their defensive work). The fact Torres was getting more praise than any off the other players on the night was making me tare my hair out, but after one of the best result's in our history i wasn't going to start a massive argument. But the fact that moment was considered his finest contribution in a Chelsea shirt shows just how much of a flop he has been. Now this summer he looked good in the Euro's and with the new midfielder's coming and the Drogba shadow gone in i thought to myself ok, he deserves until atleast January but we need another forward just incase it fails. Apart from the Newcastle game however it has been same old Torres but his attitude this season on the whole has been terrible, sulking off after getting subbed off (something which was long overdue). His lack of service has been blamed but now we have Hazard and co in the real problem is there for all to see, Torres doesn't get involved or make himself available, service works both ways and he isn't doing his bit at-all. Look at Drogba's second against Valencia and the way he made it clear to Mata he was available and ready for the through ball. With the midfield we now have he should be able to get 10-15 goals but that is not enough for a first choice forward unless they contribute massively in other side's of the game which Torres does not. He will basically be a more expensive Kalou, he will score the "lucky tap ins" in games we are cruising aswell as the odd goal that will win us three points but when were back's to the wall, up against it needing a goal, being dominated, Torres won't get us out of jail. He's a nice guy and i wish him well were he goes next, but it's pretty clear Torres and Chelsea is a match made in hell, i will always have this minor 1% hope in my mind that im wrong but that hope is getting shorter and shorter most times i see him on the pitch, Danny should be number one forward, he may not be perfect but he gets involved, some say he shoots too much, but keep doing it eventually a few will go in and i'd prefer that to Torres who seems too scared to shoot most of the time. I think i have near enough covered my whole feeling about the whole Torres saga since he joined Chelsea so ill probably stay away from this thread from now on.

Bertrand is proof that you will find a way eventually if you are good enough, patient and have the right mentality.

Drogba being crap in his first two season's is the biggest urban myth i have ever heard, they were actually his 3rd and 4th best season's for us. He still scored some great goals and gave numerous great performances, the reason the myth is going round that he was crap was for 3 reason's. His admittedly over the top diving. The expectations we had after seeing him for Marseille. His outstanding third season. Drogba certainly was not rubbish in his first two season's let alone on Torres's Chelsea level. His best season's for Chelsea are in order 09/10, 06/07, 05/06, 04/05, 11/12 (if it weren't for the big game winners this season would be last), 07/08, 08/09, 10/11.
