It does my head in how anything critical about Torres performance has you branded as a hater If anything the "haters" are doing him a better service by actually treating him like a normal member of the squad.

Do you reckon Eddie got permission from Robbie to say all this, if not i can't see Robbie being too happy about it. Another thing worth considering is some of the things said in this interview could be a bluff, i hope some parts of it are

Petr Cech to undergo a surgery (after this season)
Tomo replied to Milan's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I don't think Cech has got that long left sadly. Mix in Courtois words, Petr's injury problems and the fact he was born in triplets (which if im not mistaken makes your body weaker) i think we might be seeing a case of early retirement. Also if the club genuinely thought Cech could do a Van Der Sar then signing Courtois would have been pointless unless it's a profit making exercise. -
I cringed reading that, far too frank from Eddie, not even Warnock is that straight to the point.

Did you see their crowd at The Ethiad?

What happened? (they have took the video down)

Shelvey showed incredible early promise at Charlton, was ruling the Championship at 16. I think (like many young players) he has become a victim of his early performances.

Bloody hell, Juve are getting underestimated a bit here. They have just gone unbeaten in their league and don't give me the weak league crap it may not be as strong as it use to be but only the PL, La Liga and possibly the Bundesliga are ahead. In 2004 Serie A was the strongest league in the world while the PL only really had one stand out team which was ironically another team that went the season unbeaten, but would you class the 6th place team in Serie A that season whoever it was better than Arsenal back then? Its ironic that Vidal and Pirlo would be fantastic options for our double pivot right now, if Mikel doesn't keep on the latter tight, he will rip us to pieces.
-
Its easier to score now than before, 06-08 near every match was a tactical game of chess.
-
Yeah agree and if he does score 40 goals i would class him as number one forward until someone else comes in and proves they deserve it or he loses form again. The other thing is after a 40 goal season he might become complacent, a new forward will be a reminder that he still needs to keep performing and scoring goals and he won't carry on getting picked on the back off a great season, which was a bit of a problem after we won the double with some of our players.

There in-lies the problem. Drogba saw off numerous contenders at his time at Chelsea to be number one forward. He shafted Sheva and Kezman aside, forced Gudjohnsen into midfield, forced Anelka on the wing, kept Torres out. Crespo was the only player that came even remotely close to taking that role of Drogba, and even he left after 1 year. Torres should be prepared to fight and earn the honour of being called number 1 forward at this club and if that means having to do to Falcao/Cavani what Didier did to Sheva and himself, then so be it.

Not both of them but one of them, its improving and evolving the team when your on top that keeps you at the top. If Torres comes back to form (which will delight me if he did) are we going to just stick with him as undisputed first choice to the extent we struggle to replace him even when he's past it (*cough*Malouda*cough*)? 2 years ago Barca had (and still do have) the two best central midfielder in the world in Xavi and Iniesta but they still went all out to sign Fabregas. A message that they don't plan to go anywhere. Cole, Robben and Duff were 3 of if not the 3 best wingers in the League in 2005, but we still went out and bid £24m for Wright Phillips. Although it didn't work out signing (at the time) on of the hottest young properties despite having three players on top form their was a clear statement of intent if ever there was one. United signed Tevez, Anderson and Nani in 2007 after getting the title back off us, signing a world class forward and (at the time) two of the brightest young prospect's in the world was a clear message to challengers that they don't plan to have the title taken away from Old Trafford any time soon. United brought RVP despite Rooney and Welbeck developing a promising partnership last season. Signing RVP was a real statement of intent from Fergie that he wants the title back, signing Remy would not have been so. Infact all the example's i have mentioned have been serious statements. If either of those two become available, we should jump at the chance to sign them.
-
Whether we sign one of them two should not be based on how good a season Torres has. Even in Nando scores 40 goals this season and picks up numerous MOTM awards, if the funds are available to bring one of those two in we should do it regardless of the season Torres has.

@Rmpr, He has my full support aswell, every Chelsea player who has does, but i will still access their performances like i think they did. Ben Haim got my full support, but i still accepted he was dreadful.
-
Define Real Support? I support him like any player, infact during the first 10 months i was one of his biggest backers to the extent i made every excuse up in the book in the hope he will come good, it was the Arsenal and Blackburn games that made me think, hold on a minute. I hope he comes good and i will support him, doesn't change the fact if he left tommorow his Chelsea spell will be a disaster so far.
-
I doubt it will be Cahill, will probably be one of the younger one's with them and Terry having a gradual changeover over about two season's (like Desailly and Terry had). Don't know why but i reckon Bertrand might be a surprise contender.
-
I wonder how RDM will rotate Cole and Ryan now there is more games. A good start will be Cole at Loftus Road, both against Juve and Ryan against Stoke.
-
Keepers are knowing where he puts the pens now, Lampard unless he changes tact will have to be so accurate in his pens from now on.
-
Most CFC fans are both. Im critical of his performances since joining the club but it doesn't mean i don't support him. Ofcourse i want him to come back to form and do well, but not at the expense of Chelsea doing the same. If it came to a choice of Torres or Chelsea, then there is only one winner.
-
Now you mention that, it makes a lot of sense.
-
It annoys me when i see we should not sign a forward because it will put Torres's nose out of joint, we should have brought one in this summer even if Torres was on top form. Look at United, Rooney and Welbeck formed a promising partnership last season, didn't stop Fergie going out and splashing on RVP and furthermore Rooney could not hide his exictement about RVP coming. Barca after Three league title's in a row look to bring in Fabregas despite having a settled midfield trio of Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. Xavi, the player who was at the time in the most danger of losing his place with Cesc coming in (when you consider age and style of play) was one of the biggest backers to try and get Fabregas in. If we ever in the future have a chance to bring in someone of the calibre of Falcao or Cavani then we should jump at the opportunity regardless of the form off our current forwards, it is improving team's when you are on top, that keeps top teams at the top.

What winning nothing and losing them to bigger and better things before they reach they peak? no thanks.

Congrats CHOULO but [Liverpool} come back when you win it two times {liverpool} Nah seriously congrats:D

The irony with Quaresma is he would have been usefull in 10/11 and 11/12
