So? Drogba has gone from defending corner's to being on the end of a ball within second's during his time here. An instinctive forward hungry to score would have sensed a opportunity the moment Juan mugged Walker. How about last year against Bolton Lampard's goal (our 3rd) at Stamford Bridge, Lampard got in on the end of the cross, where was Torres? on the edge of the area.

Ofcourse fan's were excited at the time, he had a poor six months at Liverpool but the general consensus was he needed a new challenge. Maybe we should not have "dumped" him but making a player who has been poor for 2 years number one forward was never going to end well. We should have brought Cavani in and if Torres really wants to prove himself battle Cavani and do to him what Drogba did to Sheva. Not only that but he clearly (judging by his reaction when he got subbed at QPR) thinks he has a define right to be number one forward and it makes me sick, Robbie had to sit with him for an hour on the plane home from Munich (where he should have been celebrating being a European Cup manager) to convince him to stay i mean seriously? Torres should have been on his knees begging Robbie not to flog him, yet he goes and moan's about not playing the biggest game in the club's history ahead of Didier. Torres should not be number 1 forward at this club, previous forwards have had to earn that role, yet he gets it by reputation, price tag and throwing a sulk. If we were going to base it on performances on the pitch then Danny deserves it more, infact Kalou deserved to stay and get that role more than Torres deserves it. He has had good games this season and look back to the Arsenal and Nord dates i was the first one to credit his performance's, but he is not good enough to be anything other than a squad player, something which is impossible due to his ego and price tag, so i think its best to say to Fernando goodbye, i wish him the best where ever he ends up but Torres and Chelsea is a match made in hell, period.

You need to look at the 4th goal at WHL, Danny had desire to get in the box and score one of those famous tap in's, Torres was right on the edge of the 6 yard box. On desire alone Danny has to be number 1 until January, if we sell him

What i meant by intelligent he is should have seen a few weeks in that the midfield behind him (back in 2010/2011) were never going to provide him with Gerrard esque through balls bar Anelka once in a while, he should have adapted there and then.
-
I pray Ramires never picks up a serious injury because if he does his decline will be even more steep than Essien's. Even with no injuries eventually he will lose this blistering pace, so hopefully he can develop his ball skills further before then.
-
Torres isn't intelligent (footballing wise) enough to adapt his game, otherwise he would have done it a few weeks after he got here.
-
It's getting to the point where ill accept Heskey if it keeps Nando away from the squad.

1. Arsenal 85 2. Tottenham 83 3. West Ham 80

While were on that subject, despite the antics of Welbeck and Young, United have not had one single yellow for diving this season or last.

I have just been thinking off the possible last day scenarios and this one seems most likely. Chelsea beat Shakhtar at home, Juve beat Nords at home. Juve beat Chelsea at home, Shakhtar win in Denmark. Which will leave the table going into the last day looking like this. Shakhtar 10 Juve 9 Chelsea 7 We will have a superior head to head record against Shakhtar but not Juve, which will mean we have to beat Nord at home and hope upon hope one of Shakhtar and Juve win their game as we will be screwed if it's a draw. That is what i personally think the table will look like going into the last day.

The problem with Torres is he plays well in spades (Arsenal-Nord-Norwich week for example) and that would be good enough for a squad player but not close to being good enough for the number 1 forward role and its cringe-worthy how he seems to think he has some divine right to it or to play here. Robbie had to sit with him on the plane home (where he should be celebrating being a European cup winning manager) for an hour to convince him to stay, with his form previous season and a half he should have been on his knees to Robbie begging to be in his future plans.
-
United make it work, you just need the right 'average players' and for them not to have an ego.
-
He is right that we would have got destroyed if Lampard stayed on, but i would prefer us to get hammered than Lamps (or anyone) to get injured so his comment was disgusting. No, but that's not the point, we won't be with Torres either.
-
Agreed, but our saving grace for United is there's is just as bad if not worse.
-
Considering the group get's decided on head to head if points are level, Oscar's goal could be more vital than we initially think.
-
Because back then the excuses for Torres were genuine. No break for 3 years, players around him off form, still has to settle into London etc etc, we thought with all those on the verge of getting sorted the following summer it was worth being patient and for a while under AVB it looked like we were getting rewarded, only for him to fall deep into another goal drought. He may be performing better now, but still way off the mark of a number one forward, he is performing well in spades, good enough to be a member of the squad (which if he cost £10m from Feyenord that's all he would be) yes, but a number 1 forward? absolutely not.
-
I know but they still did more for us than Torres has so far. I remember this bloke that came on this forum after the Reading game (OssiesCorner) slated every one who criticize Torres saying we should support our players no matter what then went and slagged of Sturridge I will support Torres like i do any other player and i did infact praise him after the Arenal-Nord-Norwich matches but the double standards towards him are incredible. Anyway enough on that. On today's match tho i will put it down to a freak, hopefully it will be back to normal against United on Sunday. The one thing i will say tho is compared to 2 years of sitting through Anelkalouda, this season has been absolute heaven.
-
Its funny that there is always a few that are leaping to Torres's defence no matter what, well to those people, where the fuck were you when Kalou and Bosingwa got criticized?
-
Neither Borini or Sinclair were not good enough, something that is getting brutally exposed now they are playing for Liverpool and City respectively.
-
My friend mentioned about Oscar's goal, and how it could be valuable if we beat Shakhtar 1-0 at home then finish level on points with them in the group.
-
Lukaku is for the future, not now.
-
I said in the match thread, he is a more expensive Kalou.

Petr Cech is the best goalkeeper on this planet bar none.
