  1. 10 years ago today we appointed Jose Mourinho and he called himself the special one in a press conference later on the same day. 1 year ago tommorow his return to Chelsea was officially announced. Time goes to fast.
  2. I actually wasn't joking it would probably happen (if they both got similar playing time).
  3. Stats was responding to Korea not you
  4. Still hoping we will give him an extension, a fully acclimatised Eto'o would be a good safety net if Costa needs time to adjust.
  5. Drogba initially wasn't keen on coming here and Azpilicueta i think would have stayed at Marseille if they didn't need the money I get your sentiment but if we only signed players who turned up to Cobham acting like a dog on crack our options would be seriously limited. Leti's played a big part off his life, it's natural that he will take time before deciding to leave.
  6. When he returns for pre season training Jose needs to tell him under no uncertain terms he is not in his plans and if he chooses to stay he will go the same way as Malouda. If he is as upset about his lesser role these days as he claimed he was in that cringeworthy interview that surely that would scare him to fuck off.
  7. People and perspective change over time, always made me laugh when i heard Mou returning wouldn't work based on a fallout half a decade prior. Back then Jose was a young manager with the world at his feet while Roman was in the early stages off being an owner in football (which probably was part off the reason he wanted Sheva and Ballack, established world superstars, at his club) and those characters were at a moment in their careers where it was best to part company. Between Mou's first and second coming the special one has broadened his horizons at Italy and Spain while Roman has had his fingers burnt by some seriously clueless managers. Time has probably made the pair hit a compromise (ie Jose accepts the structure already in place with Emanalo and co while Roman is less full on, as in doesn't get involved with thing's he knows little about in comparison to Jose. 6 years is a long time in both football and life.
  8. In an ideal world yes, but sometimes it isn't possible. Maybe the club and Lamps were in the process of negotiation during the period off the Norwich game. Didier would have stayed had we lost in Munich, so we couldn't give him the sendoff at The Bridge because we didn't know what was happening. Scholes was another for United, his first retirement wasn't announced until after the CL final, and his 2nd was overshadowed by Fergie.
  9. Horrible option? if Lamps and Mikel go which is looking probable, then i don't see why he can't be brought in as a squad option and also get a new CM in. Matic, new CM, Tiago, MVG and Rami would be different class compared to what we went into last season with and would give us a lot off tactical variety.
  10. Remember their actions last summer? Le Arse put a bid in for Suarez and John Henry, Brendan and the fans started acting like 5 year old's who were told they couldn't have a lolly. I mean if PSG put a bid in for Hazard and Gourlay takes to twitter and writes "what are they smoking down the park de princes" he would go right down in my estimation's.
  11. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27635264 GET IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Welcome to the party, my last straw snapped after the CC loss to Liverpool 2 and a half years ago.
  13. What i find funny is the fact that Torres always seems to have a defence team when he has done nothing to earn it. Kalou despite being shit actually worked hard but no one defended him like that. What begs the question, is if we signed a striker from vittese for 3m in january 2011, instead off Torres for 50, and he was spotty and looked like he woke up in the sewers and his CFC career followed the exact same path, would you or any one defend him? i think we all know the answer to that.
  14. If Sherwood and Ferdinand were our management team Matic would be dropped. Just think about that for a second.
  15. Sherwood was an idiot, some off his lineup's were the most jaw dropping thing's i have ever seen. Poch got Southampton 8th, basically the best off the rest, as good as he was going to do with them. Sherwood and Moyes both gone, gutting.
  16. Because like with Cole, Lamps might go for reasons beyond our control. Also Mou might think Thiago in this current day is more energetic and fits the system better.
  17. Im not saying he hasn't been cautious at times, i just find this 'park the bus' notion baseless rubbish. After he accused Big Sam of '19th century football' we kept hearing the same line 'how can Jose say that when he does it himself?' when the thing is he doesn't. I was at The Bridge that night and the game, especially the 2nd half followed the same pattern, WHU defence hoofs it, Caroll headers down, JT or Cahill sweep up, Chelsea attack, Collins blocks or Adrian saves, rinse and repeat, shot count that night was 39-1 in our favour. Mou in either spell at Chelsea never went as defensive as WHU did that night, so people saying it's a 'bit rich' of Mou to criticise the gum chewer are brainwashed with this tedious myth's or didn't watch the games Mou allegedly parked the bus.
  18. We don't know the full circumstances re Cole. If his departure was beyond our control then we need experience to fill the void. Lamps and Cole go this year, Cech and JT next (hypothetically) all off a sudden we only have Ivanovic and to an extent Cahill as the experienced senior pro's.
  19. Tiago is a lot better than Benayoun, would Yossi at his 'peak' let alone past his best got into the side of the La Liga Champions. Plus Leti are a more advanced version of the direction we are going in, which goes a way to explaining the link. Regarding the Kakuta thing, i trust Jose more than Carlo to strike the balance, he found enough games for Huth, Diarra and Mikel amoungst the world class superstars surrounding them.
  20. Expierence is the most undervalued aspect of football, or is it a coincidence Arsenal kept falling epically while 20 year old Fabregas was the captain? If Lamps goes Thiago can take the spot off the midfield veteran. Im all for giving youth a chance and i really want Chalobah building up some minutes next season but imagine this......... CL semi at the Nou Camp, 1-0 down, 10 men, Matic pulls up. Eva instantly calls for a sub, who do we call upon? a 19 year old who is very talented and got a great future, but is in his first season at the top level and has mainly been playing cup games and league cameo's when the win's secure or an experienced international with 58 caps, won the title in 3 different countries, played in England, Italy, Portugal, France and Spain and will add some calm to a horrible looking situation. Who would you choose in such extreme adversity. If this was fifa career mode, ill sign Vidal for 20m plus Torres, but sometimes an experienced bargain is the order off the day.
  21. I love how the media have even managed to brainwash even a section off our own supporters with this bus parking bollox, it's truly unbelievable. The games in question mainly were Old Trafford, The Emirates, The Calederon, Anfield. The first two we approached with the tactic Fergie use to employ a lot in big away games, try and win but also be mindful that a draw away at a title rival (or in United's case who we thought would be one) isn't the end off the world. The latter two we were severly weakened and heading to the home's off the 2 most in form team's in Europe, any one who doesn't go defensive under those circumstances is an idiot and would get the hammering their stupidity deserves (Wenger at Anfield and The Bridge). Sometimes it's like people don't have their own unique opinions and are just copying and pasting from the daily star website or John Cross's twitter account.
  22. I agree re Jose but the myth that Pep walked into an already great Barca team just simply isn't true.
  23. Where Wilshere and McEachran separated in terms off development was their respective PL loans, Jack grabbed his with both hands while Josh got chances at the start but blew them and found himself on the bench for the rest off his stay. His pre season in 2012 when he returned didn't help thing's either. Would RDM/Rafa have given him the chances if he shone at Swansea? no one will ever know the answer, but he would have made a much better case for himself. Youth development at top clubs seem to be an issue, like we mention Wilshere but for one Jack there's 20 Lansbury's and Frimpong's.
  24. So are you saying the only reason Deen Conteh is a free agent instead off a PL full back is solely the way we handled him? Jack Cork never got an appearance (one off the few that could actually feel aggreved) but his talent shone through and is now a PL footballer. Leicester took Conor Cliifford on trial after we released him, surely they would have given him a shot if he was good enough? Bertrand kept going on loans and eventually got the squad role he was good enough for, all be it only for a couple off season's. The Hazard point was extreme, but if Lillie didn't give him a chance he would have likely gone elsewhere and his quality would have shined through, like Pogba, his lack off chances under Fergie didn't stop him shining at Juve.
