Honestly baffles me how anyone could think rehiring that maniac is a good idea.
-
I'm not saying we should use it as an excuse to keep Potter, just that there was absolutely nothing to suggest that this was coming with him or Arsenal. The rewritting of the early part of his tenure is driving me nuts. Yes the cup win was nice for them in isolation, but would you want to see us employing Harry Redknapp, Alex McLeish, Grame Souness or Roberto Martinez? As they all won a domestic cup with much weaker teams.
-
Less shit is still shit. The idea that Arteta's Arsenal were showing big signs of cooking from day one is such utter bullshit I barely even know even know where to begin.
-
This rewritting of history with Arteta's early spell is absolutely scandalous. Arsenal looked utterly shit for his first couple of years even accounting for the cup. Not only were the results poor he was getting compared to Tony Pulis because the football they were playing was so bad. All their metrics before this season were that of a midtable team or worse, for example they were 17th(!!) on big chances created as recently as last season. https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/clubs/big_chance_created?se=418

If I had to guess either because him and Ruben together on that side does seem to work well or we're trying to manage his workload.
-
I've just seen Arsenal have Wolves on the last day. Imagine the scenes if Diego Costa scores late on to deny them the title.
-
Will keep saying, they're a better team unit without Haaland.
-
Unless it's a good faith agreement I can't see him going for that with 4 years left on his deal.
-
Conte would spend the whole time moaning like a bitch. Conte spat in the face of every single supporter with his behaviour (especially the ones who travelled to City) and people want him back, wheres the self respect? I'd rather have Piers Morgan as manager than that maniac back.
-
I think he'll be the easiest at this point. 4 years left on his contract, league title and potential UCL title with the status and income that brings. Unless there's something I don't know they'll be under no financial pressure to cash in even more so if Oshimen goes. I think it will take Mbappe level money to even get ADL to the table this summer but I could be wrong.
-
I guess we'll see I'm not convinced given he walked out of them the minute they (partly thanks to restructuring their squad in his image) hit financial trouble, once bitten and all that. I don't feel Napoli will lose that many bar maybe Oshimen due to the contract situation (admittedly a big one). We know more than anyone just how good their president is at keeping players.
-
I dunno about that, PSG are desperate for a UCL and Potter has a better record in that competition already. Given how good Napoli are wherever he goes (if he returns to Italy) he'll be moaning within a month when we realizes he can't compete with them. I just can't see any logical option for him providing we don't have a moment of madness. No clubs that have enough resources to shut him up for a while think he's worth the hassle and the second tier clubs won't have enough resources to stop him complaining from day one. He's backed himself into a massive corner.
-
Hopefully he finds a new job before we get any ideas.
-
Good, Conte would destroy everything we're trying to do. And when he's not motivated Conte has an even worse small club mentality than Potter.
-
Ironically it was Kepa doing just that that started the chain of events that led to the 2-2. I think Mendy was actually ok with distribution in his short prime, ok he'll never have been Ederson or even Alisson/Maignan but he made some pretty good passes at times, Tuchel even namedropped him for such at one point.
-
Maybe not but Sterling does have a track record of such all be it in a super team. If we were going to centre around one player banging them in I'd rather gamble around him doing such than panic buy a player who would need to score approaching 1 goal a game figures to make up for what they take out.
-
I'd rather have Piers Morgan and Katie Hopkins as joint managers than reappoint that maniac.
-
We didn't in 20/21 either which led to us panic signing Lukaku because he "guarantees goals". While Osimhen won't be a dickhead he's a big big risk for the price he'd command. I want us to do what we should have done then, source the right fit for the way we play and if there's no one avaliable wait. If we really want to centre our system around one player hopefully producing big numbers then I'd rather we played Sterling as an on the shoulder inside forward, hopefully we've learned from just looking at the top line without factoring the fit for the way we play as frankly that's a big part of whats got us in this mess in the first place.
-
I'm really not convinced an out and out striker is the way to go in this system.
-
I don't think he's really declined. With us and back at Inter he's been playing in possesion based systems for the first time in his career, which makes his weaknesses even more clear than they already are.
-
The same Terry who was coach at Villa when they were the worst defense in the league? There's a difference between leading a defense on the pitch and coaching it!
-
This the same Conte who set up for a "respectable defeat" to City and spent the entire of the post match defending it? Or the same Conte who said his Spurs team couldn't compete with Chelsea sides that had Saul, Sarr, Lukaku, Ziyech and Kepa in them? Or the same Conte who said he couldn't compete in the UCL for Juve only for Allegri to then make the final the year after he leaves? That Conte? He's the biggest bull shitting excuse merchant of them all. Guess who was in his team yesterday that caused him to rant? Harry Kane, a player who he said was his dream striker when with us.
-
When neither keeper are performing that great I'd rather go for the one that atleast has a body of world class work in the bank.
-
No he wouldn't, the whole Inter squad got remoulded to his needs and he still whined constantly before bailing on them. There's a reason he's at Spurs and there's a reason this shit keeps happening to him again and again and again. Not to mention he would totally ruin our progress in the UCL of recent season's, Potter objectively has a better record than him in this competition already. After the way he behaved in his final season I wouldn't want him back out of principal even if it did make sense (which it doesn't).

The most damming thing is is this is suppose to be the form of his life.
