  1. If we're going to start chucking in young players (which I personally think would would more harm than good in this period) I'd rather it'd be one who has a high chance of actually becoming a player of the high level.
  2. I'd rather we tried to find someone that would allow a profit. I'm really not seeing anything in this guy that screams Chelsea level player, eventual or otherwise.
  3. I think the ship has long sailed when it comes to preventing their names being associated with this season.
  4. I disagree. Our remaining fixtures leave a huge possibility of a baptism of fire and let's not beat around the bush, that + his Spurs connection = crowd turning on him. There's zero to gain in him starting now.
  5. I agree he's a bit overrated in terms of attacking/eye pleasing football but his Spurs side were incredible at forcing mistakes, probably the best team not managed by Pep I've seen us face in that regard.
  6. Quick google search and i rather predictably catch him contradicting himself with the "we can't have a Tottenham man" stance. he should stick to Eastenders.
  7. I hope i'm wrong but can see a Jose/Conte panic appointment if the 'project' is taking longer than anticipated. Even more so if it's true they factor fan opinion as shockingly a significant portion of the fanbase seem to think rehiring either is a good idea.
  8. If we appoint a win now manager who will give less than zero shits about even the medium term or building something more sustainable then it absolutely has to come with hard results, even more so if Lukaku gets brought back into the fold.
  9. What will everyone's expectations be next season then? For me it almost solely depends on who we appoint and how they manage the job. For example, under Pochettino or a manager of that ilk I would consider top 4 a good result IF it coincides with the implementing of a sustainable looking system and the young players we have looking well developed and coached. However if we appoint a win now f**k everything after coach like Mou, Alegri or Conte I will expect the title and no excuses.
  10. Wait. Can't risk a baptism of fire (which is possible if not likely looking at our fixtures and how his system is a lot fitness related) especially given many will look for the first excuse to turn on him given his Spurs connections.
  11. We also use to laugh at the Arsenal team Cesc was a part of, still took him when the stars allinged.
  12. I could somewhat get people being duped yet again if he was banging in the goals back at Inter but he's got even worse. The mind boggles.
  13. I would have been against Pochettino completely when Lamps 1.0 was sacked but I think on this occasion he's a good fit. He has a proven track record of developing raw young players and will instantly sort our fitness problems out in pre season. Not convinced he's the solution to bring the title back home but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
  14. Drogba also in the exact same interview called the Shevchenko signing an intelligent decision. He also raved about the Lukaku signing and doubled down further even when it clearly wasn't working. Funnily enough the one aspect of the new regime I've seen him publicly endorse was arguably their worse decision (Auba). Drogba is very heart led which is one of the reasons he became my favourite player but also the reason i didn't want him to ever be a manager and the reason i take anything he says with a pinch of salt, he does raise some good points but if he had a personal relationship with Todd or Eghbali he'd be the first rushing out to defend them.
  15. There's middle ground between that and insulting supporters intelligence. He could have also done what his fellow countryman did multiple times at Liverpool and told the board to wait until the right fit for his style fell on his lap.
  16. He was beaming in the press conference after Lukaku signed. I hope it was his pick because the alternative was he was insulting the intelligence of every supporter.
  17. We didn't, he didn't want to go to Everton. I still think we can. As much of a let down as he's been back here he's still got a market lower down the table (in before the that's us now jokes).
  18. We called him every name under the sun for the entire half. If we can't take it we shouldn't give it out.
  19. As we've already seen, we lose our ability to create the chances to waste with him on the pitch. I really hope we don't fall for this again.
  20. So you keep saying Romelu, then when we start holding you to those standards you whinge and blame everyone but yourself.
  21. Don't really think that would have been fair on him, would mean many potential next jobs would come and go while he's here as a sitting duck. Reason i namedropped Roy is because he was a good safe pair of hands for England in the Euro's when Cappello suddenly quit and you would hope we wouldn't have been stupid enough to give him the full time gig like the FA did.
  22. I can't believe I'm actually saying this but if we wanted a caretaker manager we should have asked Roy.
  23. Tbf i heard great things about him when I was in South America. The big red flag though is only one title in eight years for the club the size of River, against an opponent like Pep we need a league expert.
  24. I'm honestly not getting the calls to put Enzo further up. He's perfect as a deep playmaker/controller.
