Fear we're going to lose this one. Hate that feeling.

There is absolutely no chance that Klopp will come here. Why leave one of the emerging powers of European football for Chelsea? The only guarantee here is that you will be sacked sooner rather than later. Guardiola knew that and went for a team where he will be given every chance to succeed. You have to deal with so much nonsense at this club that it's no longer worth the money when other clubs can offer the same if not more. When you have your pick of clubs like Guardiola did you would be mad to take the one with the least job security and the most pressure. It is being reported that Guardiola had been looking at the squads of the teams wanted him and he decided against ours. Of course he would. It's just a mish-mash of players with holes everywhere. We can no longer just spend massive amount with FFP looming so it wouldn't have been possible for him to come here and sign 7, 8 or 9 players. Bayern has a strong squad already and are one of the most profitable clubs in the world. They don't have to watch every penny spent like we have to from now on. Guardiola was the last roll of the dice for Roman and his yes men. I really think they will lose the plot (if they haven't done so already) now that Guardiola is no longer available. My only fear that with no where to go they will just stick with Benitez and things will really go from bad to worse.

That chance he wasted instead of passing to Ba summed it up. He is now putting his own glory before that of the team and it is costing us goals and games. He barely even played in midfield tonight and left gaping holes throughout the game because he wants to play like a striker and score goals. He left Ramires, one of the worst distributors of the ball in the league, alone several times. Lamapard is supposed to be our most experienced player but plays for himself more than anybody else in the team.
-
This was supposed to be a bad day for Roman and the board. Ever since the Guardiola news broke I had a funny feeling about the game.

Klopp is a smart man, he wouldn't come near Chelsea. He has a great job at Dortmund who are becoming a super-power again. His position at that club is very secure. Why leave that for a job where there is a possibility of losing your job after 3 or 4 bad results? We are not going to prise good managers away from succesful and well run clubs. The managers we sign will be free agents (Rafa) or young managers trying to make a step-up (AVB).
-
This is a massive slap in the face for the board/Roman and you know what? They deserve it. They've shown a lack of class in dealing with people for so long thinking money fixes everything. I hope this humbles them a lot.
-
It'll be just as embarrassing for us if he were to go elsewhere. We've probably offered him the job a few times and have set things up for him to take over (interim manager, thin squad he could fill with his own signings etc).

I like Ben Arfa but I'm very pleased with Moses.

The Premier League has changed a great deal over the last 10 years and will continue to evolve. Players like Oscar can and will thrive here. To say he made the wrong decision less than 6 months into his first season at the age of 21 is insane.
-
I think it's odd that your judgement of a player is dependent on how other people view him. Ignore what others think of him and just judge him by his performances. He is a good young player now and will hopefully become a better player with more experience.
-
I have watched it a couple of times now and I can't see any deflection. Stunning goal that capped off a very good game. He has looked fitter and quicker recently than he did in the last 2 months.
-
But on the other hand he would offer us far more going forward than Ashley Cole does today. Baines' delivery from open play and set-pieces is arguably the best in the league. He effectively changes the way teams line-up against them by forcing them to overload their right side. We played Ramires there to counter his threat and he still ended up having a very good game. Defensively Ashley is stronger. If Ashley had good power and accuracy with his crosses he'd be comfortably better but offensively his delivery in the final third is very poor. If we were playing a poor team at home and we have 70% of the ball I'd prefer Baines to Ashley. If we're playing Barcelona at home and we need our defenders to defend I'd prefer Ashley.
-
The story goes that it was Ancelotti and not Roman who wanted Torres. If true I'm glad he was sacked.
-
Baines is a very good player, I've heard him described as 'almost like a playmaker from left-back' and I'd agree. If he was a bit younger I'd be all for this transfer but he's 28. Pity for him he is around in the same time as Ashley Cole because his career would be very different otherwise.
-
A lot of usually normal supporters/journalists are coming off a bit crazy on the Lampard issue.
-
Solid performance and he was a focal point to the attack. The team worked around him and Stoke had to defend him, they couldn't ignore him like most teams do with Torres and have spare defenders. Unfortunately he will be benched midweek to allow Torres to play the 'easier' game against Southampton. Benitez will make Demba do all the hard work against four 6'5 Stoke defenders and let Torres play at home against Southampton. Tough luck Demba.
-
We dominated possession, created more chances throughout the game which we failed to score. Their two goals were from mistakes. If you think Swansea dominated that game you must think we dominated the semi-finals against Barcelona.
-
Not good enough for us according to some but more than good enough to sign for the team that played us off the park twice. This forum is funny sometimes.
-
Trust me I understand where you're coming from and this is a sorry situation but the fans have been very lenient with him. They have had a right to turn on him much sooner but have given him nothing but love and support for 2 years. That it has taken this long for him to be booed is an achievement and shows how good our match going supporters are. Some other clubs would have made his life a living hell. He has had it very easy for the last two years. He earns more in a week than most people will earn in 10 years and acts as if he is owed something.
-
We have had better players booed for far less. He has had constant support for nearly 2 years. I remember being given dirty looks any time I vented my frustration at matches. 99.9% of match going fans have been nothing but supportive for the majority of his stay. Enough is enough. He is rubbish and doesn't deserve a place on the bench let alone start games.
-
If we ruin Oscar and stop him from becoming the player he should I would hate the club for it.
-
He was. He missed great chances, was greedy when Oscar was in a much better position and then went missing in the second half.
-
Hazard will become even better when a) he has a striker better than Torres to play with and b ) the midfielders are able to supply him the ball consistently in dangerous areas At the moment when Torres plays we have no focal point so he can't look forward or play one-twos because Torres always loses the ball. Our current group of midfielders only play obvious balls. When Hazard roams and finds space in dangerous areas he very rarely receives the right ball at the right time because our midfielders are either incapable of playing the pass or just don't see it. We need better ball-playing central midfielders who can pass to our forward players when they find these spaces. Hazard only gets the ball when he drops very deep or stands on the touchline. When he finds little gaps in-between the lines the ball rarely comes to him. Look at some of the Spanish teams that people always rave about; when players find space in-between the lines they receive the ball almost immediately because their midfielders are actively looking to find them in those positions.
-
The Hazard criticism is laughable. He was brilliant last night, especially in the first half. He created chances and openings that other players couldn't take advantage of. For 80 minutes last night he didn't have a striker to aim at or play with. Ramires and Luiz are not good midfielders and do not have the intelligence or ability to consistently feed the forward players. Hazard has had some quiet/poor games but last night definitely wasn't one. He did far more than Mata who is seemingly immune to any criticism.

HAHA somebody has tried to return their Torres shirt and this is the megastore's respone
