Really missed his presence last night. Along with Moses he's the only one in the team that runs at opponents and they back off him. We had no speed in the team to worry Reading last night.

Better pray Arsenal and Spurs don't strengthen their squads today because that will all but guarantee us out of the top 4.

Four point gap at this stage means very little. That's just two games. We had our chance to build a proper buffer with games against QPR, Southampton and Reading and picked up 2 points from 9. We still have to go Utd, City and Liverpool. We've got the likes of Swansea, Everton and Spurs still to come to the Bridge. I can't see this current squad and manager winning many of those games which we will need to in order to be in a comfortable position.

I agree anything can happen but with the way things are going it's more glass half empty than half full. Mikel, Moses and Luiz will come back but we're also going to pick up injuries, suspensions and whatever else along the way so we are still short in several areas. That we had to use Benayoun last night, a player we were desperate to get rid of just a few months ago, says it all. This club is being run by idiots. We have some very difficult games remaining and our small squad will be further stretched by the Europa and FA Cup. It is going to be a massive struggle and will most likely be determined by how badly Spurs, Arsenal and perhaps Everton fare as opposed to how we do. We need them to be just as bad as us and I doubt all three will be that.

Spurs aren't bottling anything. I don't see them throwing away 2-0 leads to relegation candidates. They're favourites for third in my opinion.

Tottenham and Arsenal. People will laugh at Arsenal but they usually turn it on once they're knocked out of the Champions League in February and have nothing else to play for. I would have also put Everton to finish above us but their squad is even smaller than ours thankfully so we have just enough to finish above a team that operates on less than half of our budget. We finished 6th last year so at least 5th would be an improvement. Think Benitez would point that out to anybody who'd listen.

We have some very tough stadiums to go to and and very tricky home games remaining. On current form we need the teams below us to capitulate because we're not going to get the points we need to qualify of our own accord.

Rio is only going against the grain because he and his family have an issue with Chelsea. Hazard did nothing wrong and it's a disgrace that he was sent off. This one year deal makes as much sense for Ashley as it does for us. We get another year of quality service and it also gives the club another year of scouting for his replacement. For Ashley Cole he doesn't risk a year of upheaval before the World Cup especially with Leighton Baines really pushing his position. It's a win-win for player and club.

I can't agree with that. Cech has many intangibles that Courtois may not have. There are some excellent shot-stoppers in football right now but for all round goalkeeping Cech is hands down the best.

But it's so hard to just discard a legend like Cech who is nowhere near the end. If this was an outfield player it makes far more sense but goalkeepers usually peak in their late 30's. Cech is relatively young for a goalkeeper. If he left today he would walk into any club he wanted. In the Roman era Drogba and Cech have been by far my two favourite players. Even though Drogba left on a massive high it was really sad when he left. Cech leaving will be just as sad.

Problem is Cech is arguably the world's best right now and is only 30. He has at least another 5 years and that is being conservative. This is a tough one to work out and to be honest I wouldn't want to be the one making the decision.

I have watched them play against Utd, Man City, Eveton x2, Spurs and us x2 and in each of those games they were thoroughly outplayed. Wigan for instance play better football and Martinez is a better manager than Laudrup. The post I replied to wanted us to play like Swansea then I don't want to play like them, they are nothing special.

I have seen them play a lot this season and they are no different in most games. They have changed a lot from last season and have less possession and are far more direct.

I agree with the bold. But the Swansea point I disagree with. Swansea don't play good football. They beat us 2-0 but they were absolutely lucky and we could and should have won by 5 or 6. They just sat back and had the odd counter attack. They are not a good football team despite the general opinion. We play significantly better football.
