Think they've panicked considering City's rise. For the past few seasons Ferguson has turned to securing young players with the potential to be stars one day. Breaking his self imposed restrictions for a 29 year old who costs a fair bit upfront in addition to his monumental wages (I've read ~200k floating about) on an area of the pitch they're already well stocked in seems a bit daft at first glance. Then again, they've been after him for a good month now, so he must have an idea in his head about how he's going to pack all those attacking talents into one team.
