  1. @justin_3d i`m holding out hope Valencia can sort out their finances and grow again to break up the monopoly as i see them as the spanish version of Borussia Dortmund. they consistently produce great players either through good scouting whilst they are at small clubs or producing their own youth talent. they just need to stop having to sell these star players. would love to see them return to how good they were tho and keep Real and Barcelona on their toes even tho you make a very good point there about the EPL still growing wqhilst the Spanish league is declining and it could very well have an effect on the quality of Real and Barcelona are to be on the European stage in the future..even tho it`s always been as far as i can recall like a two tier division the top flight in Spain with a maximum of 5 or 6 quality sides and the rest probably not good enough for the Prem. Barcelona and Real were very ordinary in the 80`s even Dundee United beat them at the nou camp and at tannadice.. Barcelona have played Dundee United 4 times and lost everytime btw..
  2. he was a quality player last year too.don`t think we have room for him at present but yeah i`d be happy with him. not sure why some folks gotta say stuff like everyone is jumping on his bandwagon now after MOTD not sure why phrases like "everyone is ..." doing anything have to be said when it`s clearly not the case. how many people have you guys asked before today what they thought about Dembele?. he is hardly this great star you alone have unearthed. he`s been seen as a great prospect who has been gradually improving for a few years now,he`s been on the radar of many scouts, football fans etc..for atleast 3 years..we were actually linked first for him about 3 years ago, maybe longer. i know there`s plenty of Dembele fans on here who have expressed their feelings about him. my main point is can folks chill out on the generalizations of what people think when it`s a diverse community and each person has their own opinions and that no presumptions of what they are should be made.
  3. good pleasing team performance .Hazard gets his first Chelsea goal and Torres is looking like he may just turn things around and salvage his CFC career afterall. Lukaku has made a good start to his loan spell, gave Spurs nitemares when he came on today. scored against the scousers last week. the boy is doing himself and us proud. AVB booed off in his first home game at Shite Hart Lane and some of them fans have already publicly expressed that they think he`s the wrong man for the job and want leatherface back. haha. Rooney fannied about over that graze and from what i heard so did Charlie Nicholas in the sky goalcenter studio. before i saw it i was expecting to see another "David Busst" the way they were talking on the radio.. pretty close to a perfect day really..
  4. ah,i`m happy to hate alone.. you may never get to hate the likes of Sunderland and Newcastle. some of it is long seated and doesn`t only apply to football..i`ve enjoyed watching Newcastle play quite a lot of times over the last 30odd years, not so much Sunderland..it`s more the fans tho, they still publicise themselves as massive clubs, when they aren`t really atall..it`s atleast 60 years since either of them had a truly golden era. in the last 25 years Luton Town have won more domestic trophies than the whole of the North East. nobody calls Luton Town massive and if it`s just because they have big followings then there`s about 30 "massive" clubs in England. i did go abit too sweeping when i said i hate NorthWest/NorthEast in general..it`s generally "just" Liverpool,Leeds,Newcastle,Sunderland,Manchester...i don`t class midlands as "oop north" even tho there are plenty of Londoners and/or Cockneys who believe anywhere north of Watford is up north. and places like Carlisle and Doncaster have some classy fans.
  5. he didn`t seem to be on our radar which i was fine with.. not that impressed with the Sunderland team i`ve seen better teams than them on paper go down and as they haven`t played together yet that`s all we can go on. *wonders if he`s the only Chelsea fan on here who hates Sunderland (and North East/West in general) *
  6. i don`t care where he ends up either. i`ll just be glad he`s not joining us.not that he ain`t a good player it`s just too many red flags for me..too high transfer fee,too high wages, too old,26 aint old but when you consider he`ll need time to adjust to an upgrade in competition and that the vast majority of Brazilian footballers best days are behind them at 29,he is. also i think he`s maxed out in both his body and performance. all our signings so far have been for rising stars who are good to great already.i think Hulk is good-great but his star has risen as far as it`s going to..he will probably become a bigger worldwide name if he played in the Prem or in Spain but i don`t see him becoming a better player. add that to also just having that bad vibe about him and us ,just feel he would flop with us or atleast not be half as good as he has been playing for Porto.
  7. i only just noticed the standings when i went to set my team for this weekend.forgot to check until now..woo hoo..good ol` Bran,Eden and Fernando, Top of the League in 3 leagues..woo hoo. and i`ve still made sweeping changes this weekend too.. haha. Up the Hatchets! :blue scalf:
  8. good signing. good price.half the price he would have gone for if he had chosen to represent England instead of Nigeria. and our homegrown quota is back up to 8 and more importantly we have 2 proper wingers now. moving to London won`t be a problem either as he has already lived here for 9 years before he moved to Wigan and probably still has family living in town.
  9. well he certainly has experience....of sitting in the dugout..and it would mean we could get something more in return for his wages than him being a sort of holiday rep for foreign players.
  10. glad to see him signed and already in training.. the last time we signed a CA ,we won the double in his first season...
  11. that`s a lot of stolen DVD players to raise that kind of money in Liverpool..
  12. they are being looked at as evidenced by us signing Davila ,whose now out on loan at a club i`ve never heard of. so yes they are worth a look at but no greater than they already are. that Jimenez kid impressed me today but we have so many young defenders now, maybe better to let someone else develop him then buy him if we need him later on. which we probably won`t as Chalobah and Kalas look very promising to me and Bruma should be good with some more seasoning in Germany.
  13. he`s joining up with a team that can defend now. that`s gotta lift his spirits. he`ll be down for a bit no doubt but that`ll soon change once he`s played a few games for us.
  14. hope the brazilian press don`t use him too much as the scapegoat now.yes he should have put that header away but it`s down on the whole team . or how they played today,a group of individuals. they seemed to think that todays game was already won before it kicked off . Mexico deserved to win the game and the gold medal. Oscar has been great throughout the tournament, can`t wait to see him in a Chelsea shirt.
  15. Neymar down when there`s actual contact..kinda poetic justice.
  16. @Shak Moses started out as a CF. but i added that as another side to his game rather than being the main factor in us attempting to buy him. i`ve already stated my views on Ramires playing RW in this thread, that you can find by scrolling back. if Ramires can`t play effectively in a 4-2-3-1 he just won`t play. although like i`ve said several times lately. i believe we will play more games using a 4-3-3 in the upcoming season. what has the need for a CM/DM got to do with Moses?
  17. so two for the left but just one for the right? Moses can play CF and both RW and LW. i like Whelan ..even tho he`s modern footballs version of an apple woman only leatherface Redknapp can top...but Wigan does not deserve him or a premiership football club. nobody wanted to give us anything to keep us up in the past, nor save us when we have been on the brink of going into extinction. fook em all.
  18. i just saw a picture of Robert Fleck i`m gonna have to wait till my eyes stop bleeding ...
  19. hope the move will develop him further. to me he`s like an unopened fire damaged tin ..things don`t look that good now but we won`t know for sure till he`s opened up and we get to see what`s inside. Steve Clarke is the tin opener.
  20. Good move for the big man. hope he comes back a better player and helps Chelsea out by scoring a few winners against our rivals. he`s got a good football coach in Steve Clarke for a season.
  21. so Betrand is now in the England squad. welcome to having a target on your back now Ryan. hope you enjoyed your private and personal life whilst you had it. oh and btw you will become a scapegoat for every England defeat you play in. regardless of how well you play.
  22. i can`t speak italian. but from the tuttonapoli link when i translated it on google translate it said someone off Radio Goal had said on his facebook that the fifa agent had text him to say the rumours are not true. so basically, someone off the radio had put on his facebook that he had a text on his phone off a fifa agent saying the rumours are untrue but didn`t say what rumours were untrue. it may be that he wasn`t hired to make the deal happen. he might just not be involved in it. not that Cavani to chelsea isn`t gonna happen. it`s a long and windy road with more twists than a road in the spanish mountains, but that`s where i got to. i think i`ll wait till something more concrete comes out.
  23. i think it depends on who we are playing. if we are playing a negative team who want to park the bus on us.Ramires as much as i love him, there`s just no place in the starting team for him. he can go past 2 or 3 players but he needs to do that from deep where he can do his running off the ball. he may be able to go wide and can come back and cover attacking LB/Wingbacks but he offers very lil playing RW going forward from that position. Moses i would play ahead of him in a 4-2-3-1 when teams park the bus on us. i do personally think we will play more games with a 4-3-3 formation then both Moses and Ramires can play in the same team. Moses will be in the 25 man squad so his signing is not wasted as you earlier had suggested. when teams park the bus on us the defensive duties of a RW will be very small. he will be needed more to add some creativity and that`s why Oscar and Moses should play ahead of Rambo. Oscar will not be someone who just stays forward wherever he is played ,he will drift back and although he won`t dive in and make highlight reel tackles he can clog passing lanes and intercept passes. his best position eventually i think with be back in CM but he can do a good shift at RW/RM for the time being. much better at crossing, passing and going past players that press him than Ramires is. so is Moses. with us being European Champions and having made quite a splash on getting attack minded players it`s fair to say that most teams will try and park the bus on us this season.
  24. @Alex good points made. although 4-2-3-1 may be the formation RDM likes most. just like Carlo did i think he will change it during the season and we will go back to playing more 4-3-3. maybe in the future after another summer window he will be ale to get more players in to implement the 4-2-3-1 better, but as things stand 4-3-3 remains the best formation to get the best out of the current squad with the skill sets they have.
  25. @Carefreeluke Ramires not in a 4 2-3-1..he`s better played on the right edge of midfield in a 4-3-3 he`s fast but his pace is better used counter attacking. he doesn`t have the guile to get past defenders upfield where they will be pressing him and he doesn`t have the passing/crossing ability to pass around them. he can fill in when we don`t have better options like we did during the pre-season friendlies but that is all. Hazard and Mata will interchange between LW/LM and CAM. Marin will be back up at LW/LM he could fill in at RW but more effective on the left. as could Hazard but that would take away him from the LW/CAM position. Oscar will probably start out at RW/RM. but we need somebody else. Moses can play RW/LW/CF all pretty well and satisfies the homegrown quota. getting him in and in the 25 man first team squad would mean we could get rid of Turnbull as surely only needing him for the 8 homegrowns rule has kept him in the 25.
