His attitude remained flawless. Not one complaint from the lad, hope he continues to be successful.

I hope Sterling can do great things for England tbh, I don't care what he does for City.

You know, I've said this before and it couldn't be more relevant. We're always impressed by a last minute tackle, in front of our own goal because the player then becomes a glorified hero. However if the reason said player has to make such tackles is the same player's own mistake then there's no heroism involved. That's Gary Cahill. A player who more time than none will lose the ball and be the reason for the tackle. To his credit, he is great at getting back into position, but not at keeping it.

Precisely. It's a case of when but not if Cahill & Terry will decline, such is the situation. We don't want to wait until it's too late. There's no reason why we cant have Stones & Zouma in our ranks. It's a long season with playing 60+ games a season, depth is everything. That being said, Stones must play. There's no point in hampering his development in the name of depth, depth players are those who aren't really climbing and aren't young.. Ramires for example. Ruining Stones' & Zouma's development would be a tragedy.

And so the cracks with the board and his relationship continue to develop. It started with their decision to allow Cech to join Arsenal, despite his own reservations and now it's going to continue with the lack of spending this summer. 10 years is starting to look like quite the stretch lol.

Ibe has quality, but the gulf in quality is evident for even the most simple football fan to see
-
Oh this is still a thing? Course he deserves respect for what he contributed, to suggest otherwise is as bad as how Real treated Casillas tbh.
-
Thank christ you clarified that I was going to explode if you meant Remy

Title winning teams already have replacements before it's too late. We don't want to wait for 2-3 seasons when Terry and Cahill actually do show signs of decline and then we have to spend massive amounts on talent that may not be as good. Stones at 21 and Zouma at 19 represent 10 years+ of quality defence. Stones and Zouma already show signs they can be ready for the top roles and they should be mentored sooner than later.

We just won the league & his days of being special are behind him?!
-
Okay last legs was taken a bit literal. I mean we won't have him long-term. He may be great this season, but the point is it's not long before Terry & Cahill are done.
-
Was he? I'm sure there was loads of times where Remy was on the bench behind Drogba.

Zouma on loan? Interesting & wrong. Having Zouma and Stones battle it out to be the third choice CB would be great, they truly could bring out the best in each other. The point to this though, is Mourinho going to give these guys enough playing time to even make that battle viable? It baffles me a lot that Cahill somehow won his place back from Zouma, but I think that was more for Kurt's development than Cahill proving he deserves to be there. Whichever way we look at it, Cahill (29) and Terry (34) are on their last legs. It means they're both going to be need to replaced soon, which also means Stones & Zouma have to continue developing to be ready. The best solution would be to buy Stones and loan him back to Everton for the season while allowing Zouma to get more playing time off Cahill (or even Terry?) But if both come then one must go on loan.
-
Delighted, but I really hope Mourinho will play him! God knows what Remy did last season to not warrant a start when Costa was injured, but everytime he plays he seems to have the eye for goal. He's a great finisher and I hope he'll at least get a run of cup games.
-
I'm delighted that Mou has taken attention of Stones. He can truly be our own Varane, in terms of Mou finding a young CB and potentially making him world-class. With Zouma also shining in this team, we could already have a partnership ready to take over from Terry & Cahill when their time starts to end. It also illustrates that Mou isn't waiting before it's too late to revamp this backline!
-
Gotta be Eden, surely? You usually give the armband to your best player more often than not, Hazard represents our future and passing of the guard so to speak. It would be a fitting and help Hazard's maturity grow.
-
If we buy him, I hope to god that Mourinho will actually put him into the team. Having him alongside Terry will be valuable to a player already showing remarkable ability. If he's bought just to be benched then this a horrible idea for both club and player alike!
-
I see him doing an Adebayor and running the whole length of the pitch

Hahaha what Liverpool fans don't realise is that Raheem is from South London. He's no mug that was wrapped in cotton wool as a child, I'm sure that he gives no f*cks to these threats whatsoever And that's why I think he'll be just fine at City. He seems like he's got the backbone to simply not care about these threats.

A lot of these Southampton players are yet to prove their worth since moving lately. Shaw, Lovren & Lallana are all yet to justify their major moves and now it's the turn of Clyne & Schneiderlin. Good business from United and it's quite worrying that we're seeing both Manchester clubs invest well & we're yet to make any significant moves. Last season early recruitment was key in our title win, I hope this isn't a case of 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

If he comes, he brings bags of experience and winning mentality. Don't see him being a major starter, but he'll be important for depth, not the worst signing we can make.
-
Okay seriously guys, who's in charge of TC's facebook page? Considering we're no strangers to have 'money grabbing' players, this is a bit petty isn't it?
-
True but he's prone to a brain fart. Ideally, we want to start replacing this backline pretty soon because we don't want a situation where it's going to be completely new in one season and they can't gel well enough.
-
Even having Ivanovic at CB doesn't help my nerves. He's played at RB for so long now that I'm not sure if he's got the discipline to play as a centre-back in big matches.
-
Don't get me wrong, I think we need 2-3 new full backs anyway. Luis & Ivanovic should go as it is, the former was never a signing we should've made in the first place and the latter is well past the point of no return in being able to the right-back he should be. I just think that with what we had, Luis & Azpilicueta was the best options we had, but the Brazilian was just unlucky that Mou had favoured Ivanovic at right-back.. There was no going back when Cesar was doing well in the LB position. I hope we do strike a deal where Luis goes back to Atletico and we bring an LB who is worthy enough to cement the left-back position as his own and pushed Azpilicueta to right-back.
