I've heard its because he gives blood every month isn't it? Also why he doesn't have tattoos, due to the risk of hepatitis

I wish he never mentioned anything about youth last season or even in his first season. Those names he earmarked and gave all the rhetoric about breaking into the first team, giving them unreal expectations. The worst by far was when he said in the CL game how he'd play RLC and gave him 6 minutes from the end. Iirc it was a dead rubber too!!
-
To what end though? That's basically 5 games? And I bet you more than anything, when it gets to the QF/SF and Final we'll play the first XI because its "silverware" lmao.
-
So then when is it time? By that excuse, youth should never be used.
-
Considering that... So yes, @yuvala

The likes of Pedro don't necessarily act as a detriment to youth development. At the age of 28 and at the relatively low cost of £22m, he can act as a stop gap for.. Ah who am I kidding, he wouldn't play the kids if the whole first team was injured and his wife was being held hostage

Couple of nice stats via our friends at the BBC; Since 2009-10, only Messi (317) has been involved in more league goals for Barcelona than Pedro (93 - 58 goals, 35 assists)Pedro has been directly involved in more goals with Messi than anyone else in the past five years (28)Only Luis Suarez assisted as many of Messi's 43 goals in La Liga last season as Pedro, despite the Spaniard's limited game-timeChances created: 180 Win %: 75.98 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33991580

If this was ever going to happen I don't see it being this summer with two weeks left, probably next year. Pogba rumours are turning into one of 'those' rumours where we spend year being linked to the player. Aguero more recently.. We'll sign Pogba when he's 27/28 on a steady decline
-
Lol, I love how the media is fixated on this whole "first time Mourinho has substituted Terry in 176 games".. It was going to happen eventually ffs

Let's steal another rival club's target
-
Perhaps. But what if this is the board deciding that they were wrong in the first place and making short-term expensive buys until they can rectify their mistakes? I mean if you think about it; Courtois, Hazard, Oscar, Matic, Zouma are all young on average and will only become better the longer they stay here. I know it's a big 'what if', but what if we do make acquisitions like Pogba next summer?

Irish Star win the award for headline of the year "Clubs line up to sign legendary Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic as Blues look to the future" http://thestar.ie/clubs-line-up-to-sign-legendary-chelsea-defender-branislav-ivanovic-as-blues-look-to-the-future/?

Unfortunately I just don't see Pogba even coming to the Premier League next. I see him going to one of the big 2 in Spain, R. Madrid or Barcelona.
-
It was a horrible attempt to force a rhyme

You say that, but when we gave them Atsu they even failed to utilise him. I think relations between Chelsea and Everton will be left sour after this window, partly due to Martinez & Mourinho. We've enjoyed a mutual understanding after selling them Lukaku but now it seems Everton will join the already growing list of clubs who don't like us
-
Not going to lie, that was one of my big worries. The stress that Mourinho seemed to be under and his erratic behaviour at the whole medical department fiasco had be worried.. It's an understandable one though, I feel, our recent history is full of that infamous revolving door policy. It finally looks like we're building a long-term team, it would be excruciatingly annoying if we'd have to start again.
-
Lmao isn't he just the most pompus, self-righteous, arrogant man alive? Don't care if he's a Chelsea lad, he's as much of a troll too.
-
Well this aggressive approach of Stones lately does make me think that this was a board issue rather than Mourinho himself. At the end of last season he'd already said he wanted a new midfielder and I think the Board informed Mou that he could only make signings subject to sales. Balancing the books and all that crap. Now that we've made the start we have, Mou's forced their hand and they've finally responded. But you're definitely right, this late on when all the big movers have already done exactly that, we're either going to overpay or compromise on the quality we should be adding.
-
I guess the hope is, that despite spending £40m, we'll still invest in a capable CM. The rumours are hot that CB, CM and Cuadrado's replacement are being lined in the pipeline. As many people have said; Pedro, Stones and a CM would do fine* for this season tbh. *I also think we need a back up for Matic, Wanyama gets my vote!
-
Yeah I guess I agree with that. Anyway, United paid £30m for Shaw and now he's settled he's looking the part. In fact I retract that OP, because Stones can give us 14 years if he learns well from Terry!
-
don't get me wrong, I'm all for splashing the cash. But at £40m that makes him the most expensive member of this entire squad!
-
Highly doubt that. If anything Kovacic is going there to play back-up to Modric & Kroos in case one gets injured.
-
"Chelsea are considering whether to lodge a final bid worth £40m for the Everton defender John Stones after seeing their third offer of the summer for the England international flatly rejected by the Merseyside club." I mean he's good and has a great future, potentially, but we're not actually going to go that high.. Surely there's cheaper, better, options?!
