  1. Ok here's a bit of news, it's not too good though.. Another Atletico player reportedly attracting the interest of several European clubs is Sergio Aguero. However, the Argentina international is under contract for another two seasons and has a buy-out clause of 60 million euros. "We want him to continue with us and he wants to remain here," said Cerezo. (Atletico president Enrique Cerezo) "However, if any club was to pay his buy-out clause, then we would need to ask the player as there would be little we could do about that." || Source ||
  2. That's wicked! I might buy that for £38
  3. It could also be about money though. Perhaps Roman doesn't want us spending ludicrous amount on players like we used to.. The likes of Ozil, Khedira and Aguero are rumoured to be from £25million to £40million. Teams like Real Madrid and Manchester City have severely raised the prices of all the player by about £10-15million of what they originally valued. Then there's a wage issue. We saw from the whole Joe Cole thing, Chelsea are taking a very firm line on the salary of our players, with £100k earners only limited to 3 players. The big players like Aguero, Ozil and Khedira know they can easily make £100k at other places so this makes negotiations very difficult.
  4. Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck expects Ashley Cole to still be at the club this season and does not believe the full-back's personal issues would be solved by a move to Real Madrid. "Ashley Cole is not for sale," said Buck in The Guardian. "That's the bottom line on that. There's no doubt that he's going to be a Chelsea player this season. "Ashley is a superb player. He is a delight to deal with around the football club, he gets on very well with everyone, he trains very well and he is really a model athlete. "Obviously, he is not happy with how his private life has become the focus of everything around him and I think we'd like to work with him so that he has a bit of a lower profile. "We don't think the problem will change if he went to somewhere else outside of the UK, so I think we want to work with him here to make his personal life more enjoyable. "We say to all our players that might have personal issues that we want to help them as much as we can and even Carlo [Ancelotti] has said that on several occasions." || Source ||
  5. Ah, not again. We'll have to wait for scan results, Chelsea don't make it sound too serious so it could just be nothing, let's hope for the best though
  6. ..& let's not forget, Kalou's still only 24!
  7. No fan would bring a vuvuzela to a Chelsea game!
  8. [extract] 14. Dmytro Chyhrynskyi (Szachtar Donieck)[/extract] Seriously? :\ Nice to see Vincent Enyeama there though, he really impressed me at the World Cup!
  9. All 3 on Thursday. If you buy 1 on Wednesday and 2 on Thursday, you won't end up sitting together.
  10. Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Joe Cole's departure from Chelsea was down to economic differences. "No, because the problem was economic," said the Italian. "It was a problem between the club and Joe Cole, not me. "We spoke about this but when the problem is with money, it is not my problem. "It is difficult to keep a player all the time in one squad. "I think Joe Cole, like Michael Ballack and Julian Belletti, did a fantastic job. I want to thank them but now is the time to change." || Story ||
  11. NONONONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Saw this on SkySports this morning, I hate to say it but I think he's right. Not that Terry should get the boot, but the fact that he probably will. It's quite obvious, the Chelsea players (bar Lampard perhaps) are being made the scapegoats for England's poor TEAM campaign. Ashley Cole for upsetting the nations favourite princess (Cheryl) and taking pictures of the England squad having some drinks. Terry for his affair and then speaking out of term, which personally I thought was quite harmless but there's British media for you. John Terry, the true England captain, is the scapegoat. It's a shame because now the countries hopes in defence will be onto crooked Rio & King + out of form Upson + no experience Dawson.
  13. I wouldn't think Abramovich would want to jeopardise our academy. It only makes sense we want to tighten up financially, maybe to fund some transfers? Who knows
  14. I somewhat agree with your list, however I would keep in the squad McEachran and Clifford and loan out Sinclair and Van Aanholt. Not sure about selling Mellis either, he's not bad, and he's homegrown. He's out there representing England in the u19 European Championships so he must be doing something right?
  15. Seem Abramovich was a bit upset Hiddink didn't secure qualification and didn't pay him as a result. So much for being friends . I had no idea Abramovich was paying Russia's managers! Is that even allowed?
  16. Could you change "First goal scorer" to "Essien" Thanks.
  17. I can't seem to edit my old posts? I'd like to edit a prediction I made but the edit button's gone
  18. I always thought he was a bit on a unsung hero by some fans, a great player indeed. AGREED!
  19. They're on SkySports too. Edit: Sorry I just re-read what you said
  20. I've said it once and I'll say it again, this rule is utter bull. All it does is encourage teams to take youth talent away from other countries rather than find English ones. Teams are going to Spain, Germany and other European teams to get their u18s and it's just wrong. Teams like Manchester United do it all the time, the case of Macheda being a perfect example. The rule needs to be changed to include a clause, 80% of homegrown have to be English.
  21. With a salary of $17.7million/year as well? I'm pretty sure he had control over that.. I also forgot to mention, Zlatan Ibrahimovic! Jesus, how he made it into Barcelona, I'll never know, mind you Inter certainly got a great deal out of it.
  22. Also, looking at your list, why is Raúl there? I can't believe anyone would find him overrated! He's been at Real for 16 years and has many records to his name. All time leading goal scorer for Spain, Real Madrid's all time leading goal scorer, made the most appearances for Madrid (741), a 3 time Champions League winner, the list just goes on. I can't fault Raúl, he's one of the legends that I'll always remember
  23. Being at Real Madrid you never know. Florentino Perez & Jorge Valdano seem to love them! Even with José as manager, it won't stop Real making big money transfers
  24. Well I didn't really say he should come to Chelsea. I don't think we need him. But I'm just saying, going to Real Madrid could ruin his future.
  25. For £90million, Cristiano Ronaldo any day. I could name many players who are over-hyped, but I don't have all day, so I'll just leave it with Ronaldo for now.
