  1. See, this guy is good. Seen 2/3 St. Ettiene games and I must say he does seem like a danger man. I'd prefer him over Bony because he'd fit in more in our system, but lets just see how the season pans out for this lad.
  2. Which is why I want us to wait till the summer, where there's bound to be more options.
  3. If we sign Fellaini, what role do people expect him to play for us? He's a good player but he doesn't fit.
  4. Again I wouldn't say that I want us to sign a world class striker, but what I do want is someone who has the potential to be. I don't see that with Bony - who knows, he might just become a world class player but I think the chances are slim. I would be a little bit disappointed if we signed him, but if he did of course I'd root for him - if he even went to prove me wrong then fine but like I said, I think we can do better.
  5. Newcastle have made good signings but lets be honest - are the likes of Demba Ba, Cisse, Santon, Tiote, Cabaye et al good enough to lead the club? How many of them would start for us? Some would say yes, but I believe we at CFC are more ambitious than that. Granted they're all very good players, none of them would get into a Real Madrid or Barcelona regularly. I think we at CFC are as big as the aforementioned so we should aim for players that are not only very good, but players that have the potential to fit in our playing style and the potential to be world class. I'm talking about signings like Oscar, Hazard - Benzema, di Maria - Alexis, Piqué, Alba etc... just a couple of examples. For our centre forward I want us to sign the next striking sensation. Someone that has the same potential as Hazard and Oscar. I don't see that with Bony - I think Bony can become a very good player - just not world class. That's all well and good but I think at CFC we can do better. Just my opinion.
  6. Come on, he's been good whilst at West Brom, one poor game shouldn't completely change your mind on him.
  7. Personally I'd rather wait till the summer. I know Torres is frustrating right now but patience is a virtue. Wait till the summer where the market is a lot more open in my opinion. Then we can really choose.
  8. Mind you he's 4 years older than Lukaku. Like I've said before, I think we can do better, find a striker that's a bit more suitable to the style of play we're heading to.
  9. My point is, if we're going to sign a striker, let's sign one that will actually lead the team from the get go... For example a Cavani or Falcao. Of course that'd mean us moving Fernando on, but I'd rather that than sign a Bony/Schurrle/Remy to be honest. I'd rather wait till the summer and sign a striker that'll overtake as our number one striker for definite.
  10. There's an example above posted by DYC. Isn't it an indicator that someone who creates fewer chances but has more of them converted is more efficient? Playmaking is not just about "creating chances" or who has the most key passes. It's about being the brains of your team. Out of those you've mentioned, none have been better than Mata at that aspect.
  11. Go watch the CL final again and tell me with a straight face that Courtois is better than Cech.
  12. Nah, we can do better. Why sign Bony when we've got better options?
  13. Lampard said that Bertrand is one of fastest in the squad if I remember correctly.
  14. People only say Moura is better because he's a bit more flashy - Oscar is definitely the better player. Who starts for Brazil almost every game from the two? That's right, Oscar does, not Lucas.
  15. Moses does not have the capacity to play as a CF week in week out, not over Torres or Sturridge anyway. I can see it now as well - let's say we gave Moses a chance up front and he wasn't immediately excellent - all this talk if him playing up front will diminish. I mean Sturridge had one start where he wasn't a world beater and now he's been written off already. He does not deserve to play number 9 at all for me.
  16. Starting 12? Have we signed Howard Webb?
  17. What's more important is that we need to learn how to defend with the ball in possession. That'll solve a lot of the leakage.
  18. Sometimes in business, you need to be lucky.
  19. He said: ‘I don’t see Mata, Hazard or Oscar in my position. It would be good to play with those players, they are all on fire. I am a deeper midfielder, so that’s my favourite position, where Mikel, Lampard or Ramires play. There's your answer.
  20. They're actually different. As many have discussed in this thread, Cavani would give us different options. When it comes to being a pure number 9, Falcao is better for sure, but overall Cavani is more effective as he is more rounded.
  21. It's not a coincidence that since JT's been out we've conceded a lot more. Don't know when people will wake up and smell the coffee - always using the JT is too slow argument but can I ask; when has JT ever had pace in his career? Terry - Luiz/Cahill is about 20 times more solid than Cahill - Luiz. Hope he starts.
