He wasn't just "good" in 2010 though. He was world class in that year, a top 5 player easily. To say that a team like Galatasaray are his level when he has proved that he can be the key man in a team like Inter Milan or Holland is ridiculous. I've watched Sneijder since his Ajax days and let me tell you, the guy's a brilliant football player IMO, certainly not Galatasaray level. His record speaks for itself there. There's a reason why at the time he was signed for Real he was the second most expensive Dutch transfer ever. He was Ajax's main man (alongside Ibra and VDV) there too. It didn't work for him at Real due to his injuries, not due to his talents. Subsequentially, when he finally got over his injuries he proved to the world that he is a quality player. He'd be a great signing for someone like Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal - could instantly turn them into a threatening side. I would take him here too if we didn't have as many AM. You can't say Sneijder isn't quality because he hasn't been 2010 class throughout his whole career. There are obvious external reasons as to why his form dipped after 2010. If he finds the right team and stays injury free, the guy is a phenomenal player.

That dies not explain him being Inter's key man during their treble, and being Holland's key man during WC2010. Guess Inter and Holland are just average teams too.

So it's okay for a player to be invisible for 80 minutes of a game, when he's meant to be our leading attacking threat? Okay... He had 19 touches of the ball in 80 minutes, FFS.

Can't believe it took Rafa 80 minutes to introduce Ba for Torres. Torres was invisible for the whole game, we played with 10 men for most of it. I really am sick of Fernando now, absolutely shocking no show. Feel sorry for Bran, thought he had an okay game barring the two mistakes which ultimately led to their goals, but I think we should've finished the game off with the chances we had. I can forgive Bran because he rarely ever lets us down. Referee obviously played a huge hand in the final result too. Ba's goal and penalty claim clearly should've stood. We never make it easy for ourselves do we.

I agree he can, Luiz can play just about anywhere IMO. But we do need a player who's accustomed to playing that way already. If Luiz is out we don't have anyone else in the squad who's a real specialist in that role.

Understandable because he is a local boy after all. It'll definitely aid his development better if he stayed at Malaga for a few more seasons.

The main reason I can't see us signing Isco for is the fact that he wouldn't get enough minutes to develop. He'd have to play week in week out for him to realise his potential, and I can't see that happening here tbh.

Not saying that in disappointment at all, was just pointing it out. I'll be very happy with just Ba and Benat being added to the squad.
