  1. Not fit to clean his boots keyboard.
  2. Very much doubt that is true. A possible explanation would be his good 3/4 weeks in late 09/10 created a false view and somehow raised expectations. Or maybe you finally stopped clutching onto the "he's young he's got potential" nonsense after 5 seasons of disappointment. His first season was by far the worst, since then he's been consistently performing at his level.
  3. The fact that any respectable manager working for us would be more crazy than us getting Rafa says much about how grim things look at the moment.
  4. I don't think I share the anger of most people who didn't want AVB sacked. LDN mentioned on his twitter that this is the most enraging CFC decision since Mourinho, I'd say it's as disappointing and equally disturbing.
  5. No sense crying over spoilt milk. The next day and the next "project/plan" is all that is important (even if the faith of such things excisting is dead). I'd either take the best established manager in the world (Mourinho/Fergie/Guardiola) or get someone in the board with an actual football brain to take the club to the next day. Unless we are talking about the very best I don't care about managers at the moment, nor should anyone else. Our problem is much bigger.
  6. All those threads and I've barely touched most of them, guess this is as good as any to post that at the moment I'm struggling to come up with any ideas of how this club will get sorted. Got absolutely no faith in the people running the club.
  7. Not in the mood to post anything constructive so here are a few short points on the game: Sturridge lost us the match in a fashion even Torres would be ashamed of. Our most talented player, Mata, looked like his technical skills abandoned him. I actually noticed Lampard was playing in the 44th minute. It's not that he wasn't running around, it's that he looked like he belonged to neither team.. Only Drogba Luiz and probably Essien & Brana had an acceptable game.
  8. The analysis presented seems awfully thorough and detailed (at least by the standards of our website) but probably serves no other purpose than shutting all those against the relocation up. I've been led to believe that SB choices were explored and rejected way before the saynocpo thing so this is little more than a PR move, underlined by how desperately the door to staying at the Bridge is kept from being closed. Is property more expensive at Fulham than Battersea?
  9. Not quite how I remember it, think he wanted Sturriddge's wages and that was nowhere near what the club was willing to offer him. Why would we propose a 1 year contract? Doesn't make any sense.
  10. His stats against former teams are frightening. Cardiff better not implode in the second half.
  11. Opportunity for the Scousers to make our defeat to them 10 times worse. What have we done..
  12. Can't say I noticed. If those passes were to wide areas that's probably better explained by Bolton's lax marking than Essien's passing abiltities.
  13. Wonder why he played 90mins today. Got no other explaination other than that the (media) pressure is getting to AVB and he does not want to risk any more embarassments.
  14. Essien had a much better game that I thought he could. We mostly dominated tha game despite having a midfield would normally appear too negative or mechanical .
  15. I don't remember Bosingwa at LB being a problem when tried.
  16. Thank you! I knew there was something to this midfield that was telling me this could work. Neither Lamps nor Essien are anywhere near mobile enough to deal with what Europe needs.
  17. Sturridge (IMO always) didn't make any substantial step-up at Bolton, against popular belief Coyle didn't let him develop, he merely let him display consistently what he was already capable of on a bigger stage. Kakuta's game on the other hand is not as relied on pace and thus he cannot have the same effect Sturridge had given the same period of time (bear in mind Kakuta is 2 years younger). He has to refine his non-physical & technical skills to even think about making it at this level. On a similar yet unrelated point the improvement that the 18yo McEachran needs to be considered a reliable (=real squad member) midfielder of a PL top 10 club is significantly bigger.
  18. Think I got a few 403s around the time the game ended.
  19. If we're lucky we'll have a couple forwards leaving and you can never have enough of them. There's space even in the current squad for Kakuta, it's the midfield which he won't be seeing any time soon.
  20. ManUtd's kit are getting worse each year.
  21. So instead of valid refuting of the point presented earlier in this thread all we see are the expected "don't touch lampsy" posts and later derailment. Disappointing.
  22. His goal is supposed to be great. He has also developed quite a nice starts to goals ratio, almost Sturridge-like if you overlook that he mostly started for Fulham, Bolton and so far Djon in easy game.
  23. He's also pure comedy^ As far as I'm concerned Lampard is now the definition of luxury player. The game passes by him, he can't keep hold of the ball for long enough to pass forward, defensively he isn't noticed and if we are not creating chances he cannot use his greatest asset, timing runs to grab goals.
