Look at Felix's goal, the coordination and the quality of the shot were pure class!

blues.bridge got a reaction from Sir Mikel OBE in 🇸🇳 15. Nicolas Jackson
Jackson still doesn't impress me at all: lucky on the first goal and good at putting it in, but if he repeats the same action 10 times, he would miss that assist 8 times! Today, I think it's his fault that we missed at least 3 clear goal opportunities! Simply put, he's not good enough for me—he doesn't have good control, doesn't have a good pass, lacks vision, doesn't finish well, and doesn't have a good shot. Moreover, he doesn't have a good attitude and doesn't seem very humble to me! I hope that if we don't sign VO, we'll play with a light attack where players like Felix, Palmer, or Nkunku can rotate as a striker.

The more I see Tuchel at Bayern the more I want Nagelsmann here. It seems like he overperformed at lot with this team.

Mudryk was let down by his team mates but they looked hesitant to pass to him - maybe he is considered a liability by them w/ some of the loosey goosey short passes he plays? But he was often in acres of space crying for a cross field ball, but the team just never played it to him.

Of course Mount should start because any manager would want to improve the form of good players who are in poor form. If the manager would go for performances alone Mudryk would be playing u20 for a couple of weeks after what he did against Fulham. Thankfully, it's a bit more nuanced than that. BTW, 🤦♂️ on the Gallagher and Mount comparison.
For me the starting lineup matters very little. We need to start playing A LOT better as a team, which also includes a bit more running and dedication when not in possession. I know some folks here think we are missing a striker or whatnot, but I simply do not see the team doing enough to win matches... simple as.

This is my nomination for the worst post of 2023 so far. You have already permanently binned Mudryk after less than 90 minutes total play, over half of which he played with a cold.
Breathtakingly premature. Embarrassingly so, one might say. I certainly do.

If we fail with Enzo, we should just go for that Varela kid they want as the Enzo replacement.

IMO our current recruitment team is doing a good job, i'm a lit worried about overbooking and how we will sell several players in the summer.
Mudryk for me, we have paid a right price for him, a little to high for cucu and fofana but can be good players, instead not a fan of KK and sterling.
Overall they are doing a job that couldn't be that bad at all, we see after the summer, but every purchase we have done it's far better of several we have done in the last years!
Lukaku, zappacosta, palmieri, Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Baba, morata

Tbf Koulibaly, Fofana and Cucurella were before any of our current recruitment team was in and handled by a man who had never been in football before. 70m obviously is a huge fee for Mudryk, but i think the jury is very much still out on if we overpaid for him. In general i think our targets this window have been very encouraging, compared to the last years

The application is impressive. Talent is obviously a must, and it looks like he has plenty of it, but that willingness to squeeze every bit of potential out of his career could be a real difference maker to what he ends up achieving. It's part of the overall package of why everyone loves Lampard so much.
Added to this, if he becomes a big player here and everyone sees what he is putting in to reaching that level, it'll rub off on others too.

GP in his presser mentioned he doesn't expect much more transfer movement this month and seemed to hint that January is difficult and top targets aren't always available.
I'm happy with this if true. Obviously it's critical looking forward to sort our midfield out but I'd much rather we wait to the summer if it means picking up a top target instead of a B or C grade option for now.

Lewis Hall looks a lot like Chilwell to me and is a much better alternative than Cucurella , every match he plays with more and more self-confidence.

https://www.football.london/Chelsea-fc/transfer-news/mudryk-Chelsea-squad-status-wage-25981358
On the face of any potential deal that sees Mudryk join Chelsea, the transfer looks to be another expensive acquisition under the Todd Boehly regime begging the question of Financial Fair Play regulations. However, it's not quite as it seems and the Blues are smart plan in place.
First and foremost, Mudryk qualifies as an under-21 player in the Premier League this season meaning that Chelsea don't need to unregister a player upon his arrival. But, of course, next season he won't qualify as an under-21 so the club will need to make space.
With Mudryk born on January 5 2001, the Premier League rules read: "Under-21 players are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad. Each player is assigned a squad number, which they wear during Premier League matches. For the 2022/23 campaign Under-21 players will have been born on or after 1 January 2001."
Then, with the regard to the payment to Shakhtar for the potential transfer of Mudryk, amortisation is protecting Chelsea from breaching FFP by spreading out the instalments. For example, according to FFP, by signing an under-21 on a six-and-a-half-year contract in January, only £40million will appear on this years records with the remaining balance paid over six-and-a-half-years.
This is a far more cost efficient process for Chelsea than paying a lump sum release clause up front - for example, the Enzo Fernandez saga. However, while this protects the Blues in the next couple of years it could soon catch up with them.
But, this clever planning very much so suggests that the club are planning well, identifying astute deals and pulling the right strings. With regard to Mudryk's prospective wage in west London, The Independent state that Chelsea were willing 'to least double' Arsenal’s offer.
