  1. I'm not part of the Oscar fan club but there is a difference in style between them if they are playing that no. 10. I think Willian is much more suited in games where we are playing more counter attacking football and sit deeper since he allows us to relieve pressure with his superb ball carrying abilities. Oscar is better for me when we are trying to be more dominant. It's hard to say but I think it's his ability to position himself excellently and provide fluidity in the attack. Perhaps it's a coincidence but whenever he's on form, we look absolutely brilliant. But like many others have pointed out, Willian has upped his game. If he continues this upward trend I think he might just take over that spot permanently.
  2. I think the difference was that Shurrle wanted to leave for more playing time. Really understandable since he is still young and should be getting more games to develop. The offer was great and since the player wanted to leave, we brought in a replacement. Remy probably won't develop much more and I think he doesn't mind being behind in the pecking order in order to be a part of a team challenging for multiple trophies. The offer would have to be really huge and he must want to leave for us to sell him. No point selling him for marginally more since a backup of his quality is hard to find. Scored some really crucial winners for us when we needed it too.
  3. I think the 3rd option should be someone who is experienced but unable to play a large amount of games. Eto 2 years ago would have been the ideal option for me. But of course, the cheaper the better
  4. Yeah I think he hasn't really decided whether to stay or go to a rival. I think even if he does, I get the feeling he will be back for a second stint when he feels like he is unable to play a huge number of games.
  5. After that night in Munich, many, including myself, thought that it was the last roar we were to hear from King Didier. I thought that it was definitely the perfect ending. There is literally no better way to end your club stint than bringing home the Champions League trophy with your last kick for the club. Who would've thought that they he wasn't done and here we are with 2 more trophies 3 years later. Drogs certainly had his contributions and wasn't a freeloader. Whenever we thought that he certainly couldn't have an impact on the game, he proved us wrong and banged one in. The ones that really stick out in my mind are the ones against MU and Leicester. Looking at him giving everything he's got at his age to bring us the victory is really impressive. Wish him the best for his last few seasons of regular football and looking forward to seeing him back soon.
  6. I think the main problem is that he has great solid players ahead of him in the pecking order. JT, Cahill, Zouma and Iva who can fill in there. Should try and go out on loan because it's unlikely he will have many chances to get first team action. I think he can make it, it's just that he isn't exceptional at anything now unlike Zouma who has monstrous physical attributes to compensate for a lack of technique.
  7. I think Bony is better than Bentekkers anyway and they play a similar style. But I wouldn't look down on him as Drogs wasn't the finished article when he came too. The answer is obviously Costa for now though. His tenacity really pumps me up too.
  8. I know this sounds unfair but I think the last resort should be resorting to Cuadrado.
  9. How true. It's why we stuck with Torres for so long. I guess it's still early enough to give him a chance
  10. I agree but the general chaos he causes in the opposition defense is worth it to me. He's generally the same as last year isn't he? Only they had Suarez and a fit Sturridge for the most part of last season and they were honestly scary in attack. Could be a worthwhile acquisition for the right price imo. Otherwise, we should go for proven top talent or let our own youth have a shot. Bertrand Traore and Boga spring to mind for me.
  11. Now that it's reduced to a meaningless ban we can all just laugh it off. I mean sure it's a red for being unsporting but it's hardly dangerous is it? Made sense to just be a 1 match ban.
  12. I get that feeling so far too. He definitely benefited from having more first team action though. But correct me if I'm wrong, Ake isn't the kind to power past people is he? RLC however is very much capable of doing what Yaya and Matic can. I think once he starts getting the feel of first team football he will be much better. I thought Zouma seemed out of place early on but his positioning and decision making has improved tremendously. I think Jose reckons he can do the same with RLC.
  13. I wonder if we manage to sign him, can that convince Reus to come? In all seriousness I think he would be the signing to take our offense to a new level. He definitely has the football brain to link up with Haz and Cesc.
  14. I see, thanks for being helpful! Out of curiosity, how long do you guys reckon Mou will stay at Chels? I know he speaks of staying indefinitely, but it's kind of difficult to imagine that he would really stay as long as Fergie. I suspect a period of about 6-8 years before he seeks another challenge. Not trying to ruin the mood or that I want him out, just a gut feeling.
  15. I hope they don't. Imagine he gives a great run of performances for them and suddenly he is elevated in their eyes to PS or VDS when they have mostly considered him inferior(albeit still a great keeper) to them after that head knock. I genuinely hope they have to stick with Valdes so we can have the lulz when he inevitably makes a glaring error.
  16. You piqued my interest with that video mention man. I tried searching for it on other video sharing sites but couldn't find anything on it. If you could be so kind to give a short summary on what that video was about to those of us who can't watch it now, I would be very grateful. And I agree, don't think Mou has a problem with the board. Its the fans, media and players (core of them) that he dislikes.
  17. Yeah considering what he has done for us, I think we should give him that respect if he wanted to stay in London for his family. Would still feel horrible tbh, but not exactly betrayed.
  18. I think we really miss his presence in our attack. Remy did brilliantly in his absence but Diego + Cesc is more suitable in possession play IMO.
  19. Was in the 2nd half right? I think that's just a tired look tbh LOL. I give that look at times when people try to encourage me in a game and they think I'm angry or smth when I was just exhausted. Not his best game but honestly I wouldn't expect much given that the team had a few days off and nothing to play for really. As long as he isn't injured it's fine. Would love for him to try some audacious stuff just for the fans the next 2 games.
  20. I'm actually struggling to find positives from him now. I honestly don't know why we bothered to get him in January. Both Shirley and Salah could have contributed more than he did. At least with Shirley we were likely to get goals and Salah had blistering pace to threaten defenders who pushed upfield. I know he has a good shot and a decent dribbler, but damn he better show it by preseason or I think he would be shipped off. Willian has upped his game recently and I hope Juan can do the same.
  21. I honestly feel that Mikel is a manager's man kinda guy. He would simply do whatever the manager instructs and that's why he has stayed through so many managerial changes IMHO. Would also explain how he can give such different performances like when he does for Nigeria. He probably isn't starting quality like you said and seeing Matic at his best just makes him look poor in comparison. But he I don't think he's as bad as some people make him out to be. That being said I think it should be time for him to move on. I would rather see Ake and RLC have a chance. Also interesting points you have there. I actually agree totally with your opinion on Lamps. Have to say I respect his hard work though, I don't think he was talented in the same way as say Ronaldinho or xavi/pirlo etc but he worked bloody hard and was a model of consistency. In the same way I don't think CR is as talented as Messi but it takes incredible work to be that good week in, week out and keep yourself in top physical condition. But could you elaborate on Drogba? I can't really think of many players with better hold up than prime Drogs. Is Giroud your kinda guy? Genuine question here, would love to hear your views.
  22. I really feel bad for this guy because he has honestly done no wrong at all to be replaced. Heck, the difference between him and Tbo isn't exactly huge. Still he gave his best in every game he played this season and had some crucial saves like against Lukaku. Honestly, I hope he doesn't go to a title rival. But if he has to in order to do what's best for his family, I hope we give him that respect. Hopefully, some other top team outside the Prem other than Barca ( hate those cunts) get him because he deserves to be playing at the highest level. Heck, this whole year of rest may even be better for him and prolong his career, look what it did to JT.
  23. So all he has to do is just win us 2 corners in a CL final then
  24. He truly kicked it up and that performance from him was truly world class. Shame we lost because i think that was the most "ruthless" I have ever seen him play. Agree that Shirley's goal vs burnley is our goal of the season. I think my moment was probably when Diego taunted Coleman in that Everton match. I think there and then I realized we finally had the guy up front who wasn't afraid and would not hide in his shell when the going got tough. Lord Mikel rewarded his ballsiness with that delicious back heel to put him through for his 2nd. Either that or Willians goal coincidentally against Everton again. Went absolutely mental.
  25. Gotta agree with this. Quite a few times this season he has been able to spark something when we have been playing like crap. I remember a short corner earlier in the season when he caught them off guard(can't remember against whom), that relentless energy really paying off when he nicked the ball for our winner against stoke and of course that last minute winner against Everton. Just a few moments that stick out for him and I think he's on an upward trajectory. Long may it continue [emoji1]
