I know technically but I am not really referring to our dealing though(which I guess he is involved in a lot) but in general the change in policy. I doubt he would come in and go ''right, our current policy is crap and I am gonna change it all from bottom to the top''. I think Roman would need to be informed of the process and many people were involved in it. I am just thinking who is deserving the most credit for this, obviously Emenalo seems the choice but thinking about it is not just that simple. Also yep I agree with your 2nd sentence, can't believe there were rumors of him resigning(club rejected) when Jose came back last summer. Would be true mistake looking back now.
-
Yep we have also essentially revolutionized the loan system now and essentially find a way to bypass FFP, before our effort it was merely a thing to send youngsters on loan for play time, cast off...etc but now we actually used it to MAKE MONEY, and we are very successful so far.
-
Also this change is reflected to clearly this summer when Jose admitted we didn't sign Shaw because essentially it was way overpriced(27-30m) with him demanding 100k per week. This policy also imo saw us past on Falcao and Cavani last summer, probably not for the best but we got Costa now so it doesn't matter anymore. This policy means we don't sign players for overpriced(or the club considered to be) fees anymore. We look across road to see MU overpaying for particularly every single player they sign now, whether world class or average. We look at Arsenal with their idiot manager scrambling for a CB, CDM, ST the whole summer and end up deadline day without really addressing any of his needs. It put into context how good our dealing are and has been. Yeah most likely but is he really the brain behind it all? I mean surely he cannot be the guy that decided we should invest a lot in youngsters, sign players for reasonable fees...etc or else he will be one of the best football director atm in the game.

As we can see we are now one of the best team in the world, with one of the most balanced squad in the BPL thanks to our great policy. I consider this policy revamp started in summer of 11 or 12. After the Torres signing and accelerated after our CL win. The policy has brought us in world class talents for great fees and all the gambled one(big fee) had paid off. This summer has been one of the best in transfer I have ever seen from the club, which makes me wonder: Courtois 6m- Now worth more than 30-40m Dave-10-12m?-Now at least 25m imo Cahill 7m?- Now probably 30m considering he is English Luis-15-20m-Too early to say anything but a class player signed for a reasonable fee, even if he flops there is nothing to regret Zouma-7-12m? good fee, again similar to Kevin De Bruyne, if flops I am sure we can always flog off for 5-10m Matic-one of our biggest mistake in the revamped period, but then again he might not have been that good due to limited opportunity Fabregas-World class player for a good fee of 25-30m, admittedly thanks hugely to Arsene Wenger for being an idiot and refused to signed him this summer with the clause. Still we were so quick to act once it was known that he was for sale, even wrapped up the signing before WC starts Hazard- Bargain, now probably worth around 100m considering fees for Bale, Suarez, James...etc Oscar-Decent signing, probably barely justified his fee but now can always and will get better, even if worst case being sold to someone like PSG we will make a min loss at max(min 20m now for him) and likely a profit Schurrle, Salah and Willian-Good signings, nothing spectacular but again got them for reasonable fees(maybe not for Willian but he was worth 20m anyway for me) Costa-32m-revelation so far, could become one of the best striker in Chelsea history based on current form and if stays suspension/injury free Also load of youngsters signed for OK fees, most sold for profit such as Lukaku and Kevin. Admittedly some fuck ups along the way like Matic, Marin...etc but overall we have actually done the best business for a while now. So my question is who do you guys think are behind this new changed policy? Obviously FFP played a huge role but who is the mastermind behind this new recruitment strategy? I doubt Roman told the club to find new ways to operate because he won't fund signings anymore. Also it is unlikely that after spending years signing players for overpriced fees, we suddenly just become better at negotiation. Remember when we fucked up that Robinho signing?(thanks God), now we just signed Remy in 24 hours after showing interest, we don't fuck around anymore. We look at Barcelona and they just spent 30m on 2 old/injury prone CB with 86m(or God knows what) on Neymar which sent the club into meltdown. So is responsible for this success? Michael Emenalo? Roman insisting the club to change our way of operating? Or who else? Obviously not Mourinho as this process was started long before he was even back at the club and I doubt it was any past managers either seeing as most were sacked a very short time into their reign.
-
Doubt it, we only go 433 in big games now anyway like against City, Pool, Arsenal, MU...etc. 4231 most of the time with Fab as one of the CDM as the opposition is unlikely to be trying to dominate the midfield or attack us as much. Remember at the very worst Dave can play at CDM with Luis LB too
-
If he was Drogba he probably just say straight in the camera things like 'Fuck this referee', 'Barca are bunch of cocks...etc' then start to fight with Barca players
-
Best loan move in our history deserves to be in here as a recognition he is never coming back, think this is the 1st time we loan a player for the rest of their contract lol?
-
Bar any injuries this should be the team: Courtois Iva Cahill Terry Dave Matic Fabregas Schurrle Oscar Hazard Costa They will play defensively and try to hit us on the break like they did at MU 2 weeks ago. This type of games will see if we have really addressed our issue last season, games where we don't need to be strong defensively but rather breaking down tough defence. They started the season really well, not a fluke at all and their 2 wingers are possibly 2 of the fastest in the league along with Bony, really good striker. Hope we can scrap a 1/2-0 like we did against Leicester to be fair, very very hard game I predict.
-
Would be funny if he ends up staying at Monaco because no one is paying 20m haha.
-
Remember when Ozil and Sanchez were being linked with us, City, MU, Real, Barca, Juve...etc at one point before their move to the big 2 in Spain and now after being cast out of 2 best clubs in the world they are playing for Arsenal with no one going in for them LOL
-
Good signing for 8m, if he gets 5-10 goals this season he would have done really well
-
Oh we can get any of them, problem is the fee really. For example throw 20m at Monaco and we get Falcao for a year, throw 20m at Swansea and we get Bony, throw 40m at Porto an we get Martinez. The problem is who is gonna be a willing back up, good enough and can be signed tomorrow for a reasonable fee(15m max I am guessing).

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2737786/Petr-Cech-leave-Chelsea-fails-win-place-Thibaut-Courtois-warns-Carlo-Cudicini.html If this is true he might as well leave now, he WILL NEVER get back into the Chelsea goal unless Courtois pick up a serious injury or forgot how to be a GK over night. Also will save us his wages which is well over 100k per week I believe.
-
Falcao on loan for 20m would do
-
Arsenal know we will only sign good players now LOL that is why they know he is a good one when we decided to sign him. For 30m? No no no.
-
It is good because if he knew English I bet he would start to swear(if he hasn't already done it) and that could actually get him in serious trouble in this country.
-
Difference for him now compared to his Arsenal and Barcelona days are that 1. Compared to the Arsenal team, he isn't rely upon solely as the creator anymore. For example if he played for Arsenal last week I think they would still have drew 2-2 as he wouldn't have helped them much with the goals conceded. Same with today, he only contributed that very early assist for Costa but then had a normal, not amazing game anymore. That is when the other members such as Hazard, Matic, Ramires and Costa step in for the team. So he was right when he said it was 'easy' to play for Chelsea, perfectly suited for someone like him where the pressure isn't as much as at Arsenal or Barca. If he had a bad game we could have brought on Salah or Schurrle or Oscar if he was fit. 2. At Barcelona we all know why, Xavi/Iniesta shadow, false 9...etc and generally a bit of politic stuff as well. Also they went through so much effort they probably expected him to be Messi in assists, which despite his incredible skill could never happen really so again it was an issue with expectations. Now lets say he repeats that dry run after Jan like he did at Barcelona, we don't have to worry because the others mentioned above will step up, people like Oscar...etc who has been quiet so far. He is really in the perfect team for him to express himself and do his best without having to worry about anything.
-
LOL I never said he was a bad signing, actually I really like him judging by my avatar. All I said yesterday is that we should have someone as good as him in the squad for depth, stop making craps up.
-
Also he now takes the pressure off Hazard too, who now almost no one talks about anymore. I don't think Hazard is ready to cope with immense pressure and going under radar will allow him to have great matches like today.
-
We should cherish this game, likely the last time we score over 5 goals for a long time to come now. Next time we go 2-0 up expect us to be a lot more laid back like at Burnley 2nd half. Having said that, what a great game it was. Either way it is clear now, title or it will be a disappointing season. WE CAN DO IT! KTBFFH
-
Same as us or any top club really. Costa plays bad this season we go out and sign someone to replace him next year, not giving him a 2nd chance. Big clubs can't afford to just give players chance over and over again until they prove themselves unless they are big names signed for huge fees.
-
So if they sign him they will have 2 of the top 5 strikers in the world in their squad.
-
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/calciomercato/falcao-is-closer-to-joining-manchester-city-he-isnt-starting-for-monaco/ If this happens...I will be so fucking mad.
-
Actually Mou isn't behind this, we just got no other choice really and Jose wants 3 strikers in the squad. He probably prefers Destro more, but Roma is clearly not letting him go so we have to sign Remy.
