  1. Not saying I don't respect your opinions but Destro is just as average as Remy, if not worse and on much higher fee, 25m+ now according to Roma.
  2. Lets wait to see if Bamford even manages 20 goals in Npower this season, let alone good enough for Chelsea bench. Yes bar Drogba, who will retire NEXT summer and WE WILL have to sign a striker to replace. I was saying we could use this chance to get that man now and then sign the 3rd option(Remy, Bony or whoever) to be 3rd choice next summer when Drogba retires.
  3. Point is being with Remy signing we will still need to sign a 'top striker' eventually, next summer maybe. Our strike force is good enough this season, just no where near perfect for the long term. I was suggesting we could use this opportunity to get that top striker that WE WILL get eventually either in Jan or next summer when Drogba retires anyway.
  4. Exactly, I mean maybe Falcao or Cavani was overdoing it but bloody hell most people think Costa shouldn't be challenged because he won't be happy. We need someone signed for a big fee with a good reputation( top 20 strikers in Europe) to be 'challenging' with Costa or 'backing him up'(what people want/prefer for our future strikers) to him. Jackson Martinez 30m euros for example is a great option, he had to fight with the likes of Falcao...etc in Colombia and still doing decent, why can't we get someone like him?
  5. No that isn't good at all, something like Martinez, Costa and Remy is good. Destro is just about the same level as Remy, wouldn't be good enough to lead our line.
  6. Remy is better than Giroud imo, but he is underrated because he plays for QPR and not Arsenal. If he was playing for Arsenal I am sure he is well capable of getting 10-15 goals there too, which is what Giroud is getting consistently. Also he got pace which is always a good attribute to have for a top striker.
  7. I was actually only referring to City and not MU. And I am not saying we should go out and get 4 top class strikers like City, all I am saying is that they got great options for both of their striker's positions, that is why now with Negredo out for 2 months they are still challenging and that is why they won the title last season despite having Aguero out for half and Jovetic non-existence at all. Yes at Chelsea we play with 1 guy, doesn't mean we can't have 2 world class guys in the same squad, Like I said, what if Costa's feet are bleed dry(which judging by early signs it will likely be later in the season) or pick up a serious injury? Lets rely on 36 years old Drogba and Remy to lead the line yes? Actually you said Costa won't play all the time, as a matter of fact HE WILL PLAY IN EVERY SINGLE GAME THAT IS CONSIDERED IMPORTANT TO JOSE as long as he is fit. We are gonna count on him like Atletico did last season. Even against the likes of Stoke, Burnley later on in the season I doubt Jose will just put Remy/Drogba on instead of Costa for the sake of resting. Why don't people understand it? We need depth, I am not saying we should go out and sign Falcao+Cavani or whatever but maybe just someone AS GOOD AS COSTA to challenge him for his place. I mean we are willing to spend 50m on Willian and Schurrle essentially to compete with each other, why can't we go out and spend 30-40m on someone else to compete with Costa? I am not demanding us to sign some fancy name just for the sake of looking good like Real Madrid, but just TO IMPROVE THE DEPTH OF THE TEAM. Serious depth not just squad option, someone who will make us go ''OK he is good enough to lead the line against Barcelona in semi of CL''. Would you be happy if Drogba/Remy is that man? Not to mention Drogba is likely to retire at the end of season, we will have to sign another striker anyway.
  8. Because at top clubs there should be more than 1 top player for a position, especially at ST- arguably one of the most important in the team. You want us to be like Atletico, rely on him until his feet bleed dry, that is when we are gonna act? Or maybe you want to look across Manchester to see how they got 4 top class strikers in 2 positions. What, you are afraid that Costa won't be happy because he won't be the main man if another player as good or better than him arrives?
  9. Actually think about it a loan for 2-3m is better than signing him outright for 8m. Lets test him 1st and if he isn't up to it like Ba we can just send him back next summer and get a top class striker like Cavani if needed.
  10. http://www.itv.com/sport/football/article/2014-08-29/chelsea-striker-diego-costa-passed-fit-to-play-everton/ Bring him on the 2nd half if we are behind by half time to play 4-4-2
  11. We essentially get nothing for Torres as he will want a few millions as severance package so his fee is nothing even if we get 10m.
  12. Also bar Drogba our strikers could actually run now, which is a good thing as we haven't got that in many years.
  13. Unless he scores 20 goals+, I doubt it. If Costa proves he isn't up to it this year we will sign someone like Cavani next summer and Costa reduced to 2nd choice. Remember our fund will be available again and our team is pretty much strong and have depth in every single position bar striker. Actually baring some miracle I don't think Bamford will make it here at all, even if he plays well now he will likely have to prove himself the season after in BPL 1st. Very very slim chance of making it here for him.
  14. Torres as shit as he is also works his sock off. I hate him for the easy chances he missed but you really can't criticize his effort. The only time he was lacking it was in 11-12 season, from then on he actually tried-just too shit to be able to do anything.
  15. Doesn't work like that though, for example no team will park the bus against Newcastle, even the worst of them all compared to us where 90% of teams in the league will play defensively for majority of the match.
  16. Pretty much a must sign-signing now with Torres fucking off and Bamford on loan. If we don't sign him if we are in serious trouble with just Costa and Drogba. Destro is not going to be sold for a good fee and this guy for 8m is a bargain, just hope he doesn't get a heart attack anytime on the pitch.
  17. Just hope if he does play tomorrow he doesn't make it worse and be definitely ruled out for 6 weeks or whatever, would leave us with just 24 hours to get Falcao on loan which we won't be able to complete in time.
  18. Btw if 20m for a year with lets say 30m buy option next year for arguably the top 3 striker in the world, is that really expensive at all? HE IS CAPABLE OF GETTING 30 GOALS EVERY SINGLE SEASON. Is this much difference from wasting 8m on the likes of Marin...etc and never play them? Why not take a gamble for once? maybe he will flop and we waste 20m, or maybe he gets back to his best form(which judging by his early season form seems like it) and we have a world class striker on our hand. No one is arguing with Costa's quality but rather HIS FITNESS as you all can see, what not to say he will injury his hamstring again like Aguero did last season? Sometime hamstring is a long term recurring issue. I don't know about you guys but it is about time we have one of the best striker in the world on our book, no matter what is the doubt. If spending 50-60m on someone like him or Cavani is too risky, then why not spend 1/3-half of that and TEST HIM?
  19. The amount of money being wasted on this shit makes Falcao at 20m loan seems like a bargain.
  20. And PSG paid 50m for David Luiz, does it mean any half decent defenders are now 20m+? Torres was the last mistake the club made, if you use that as benchmark then I am worried. How are those 2 related to the fact that he scores tap ins only? And yes you don't get style points but it shows he is not good enough to warrant anymore more than the amount suggested. Not to mention Roma as clearly demanding more than 20m, which we might as well use to get Falcao on loan.
  21. Can't believe we are even considering negotiation, 20m is a rip off as it is. See the video I posted above, he mainly scores tap ins, actually ONLY scores tap ins. 10-15m max.
  22. Actually he hasn't exactly been as injury free as he seems to be, injured his knee or something a couple of years ago and out for like 6-8 months then there is last season. He doesn't look weak but he is not exactly injury free either
  23. Apparently we are 'only' getting 4m for Torres. Trololoollolololoollool Rob Beasley believes that was the bad new and not the Costa injury.
  24. I don't know guys, with Costa injury and if we don't plan to sign anyone else suddenly we have Drogba and Bamford as back up? That is just not good enough for a team aiming to win the BPL and CL. It would means fuck all if Torres is gone and Costa is out for a few weeks with potential of longer as the season goes on,
  25. Not good enough yet, would be a massive mistake to rely on him. He didn't even look that impressive in pre season, let alone now.
