I wish CFC could get rid of the turf around the grass on the SB pitch. Every new season I cannot imagine how the club spends millions on players who need to slow down so rapidly at the touchlines and endlines to avoid groin injuries or other injuries. Wide players need another two yards outside the touchlines just to play the ball, make runs and defend. I remember seeing so many players like Hazard playing on the touchline and having to balance awkwardly on that turf or nearly slide and use extra (groin) muscles to prevent falling. Cringeworthy every season and it can depress attacks at the edge.
Why is this unchanged at SB since 2004 or Roman’s takeover?

The site is still alive in the age of apps, social media and phones, 2023. One might think that browser-based forums could go the way to BBS/IRC. Good to see people are still here.
    More in ASAP: CM, CF
    summer: Enzo? RB?
out ASAP: Pulisic and some of our midfielders (eg. Jorginho). probably Khoulibaly too. probably Ziyech, but maybe Potter helps turn it around for him(?)

This "Inter" on facebook is just still there from his Inter period. He changed it on Februari 2021 ...
Lukaku has never been the most clever person in interviews and he clearly is a very insecure person. He's also not mature and too stuborn to apologize. But everybody is also overreacting on the whole situation. People clearly want to escalate everything even more instead of de-escalating the situation. That's fine, but there will be only losers in this whole situation.

We need a fabregas type player. Too many similar no.10 type players who can’t pick nice passes consistently. Players play it too safe. Our obsession with retaining possession rather than playing first time balls, risky balls is slowing down every aspect of our play. We have players like havertz and ziyech dropping deep to do diddly squat and expect players like alonso and azpi to act like wingers to occupy the spaces they left.
Fair to say I am a little worried for Saturday now.

we bought a superb CF/striker in Werner and Havertz can play there as well
and we have Tammy plus a super sub in Giroud for a changeup
very few CF's out there who I truly rate
and all will cost a SHEDLOAD
    Dominic Calvert-Lewin
    Erling Haaland
Paulo Dybala (more of an SS)
    Lautaro Martínez
Victor Osimhen (only if he does well at Napoli)

    wild card to watch
Patson Daka (11 goals, 4 assists in 503 minutes so far this year)

They do have a dangerous squad though. Lots of potential; let's see if the manager can adapt to the Prem this season.
Seems like the striker from Milan was a steal. The guy looks like he fed well as a child and can run defenders over.

Remember when Mourinho subbed Loftus on in the 83rd minute against Sporting Lisbon in a meaningless match and called it "academy day"? 😂😂

Weakest players in this squad are probably Willian, Zouma, Barkley, Alonso, Batshuayi, and maybe Pulisic. Sure, Barkley will get more opportunities this season and we will see about Pulisic too, but I think Zouma is just going to be an incessant liability (he has always looked shaky and injury-prone to me since he joined us, nevermind the OG). Willian will continue to be ineffective against any strong side.
I would predict that Willian, Alonso, Zouma, Bats, and Barkley will be on the way when this club are ready to make buys ahead of next summer's window.
Tomori looks good and Kovacic is looking great.

Him in starting 11 is a waste.
I think he will go the way of giroud. A good player to have as a super sub. But not starting 11 material.

This is his 3rd season as a Chelsea player. He has not developed for 4 yeara now in his career or regressed if anything. If he does not make a breakthrough on the next 8 month we should sell him. Being english and shit he could well bring 30m+. We could well use the cash to fund better players in positions we are not as stacked as in his.

He is not similar to William. I think many people dont know the player and are just making things up. I suspect many here only watched the player the last games when he was through injury. David Neres was Ajax top scorer last season when he played the entire season in his position. Last window his agent tried to sell him, the deal failed in the last day and he was benched by the new coach part of the season or played in other positions.

He played 70 games for Ajax so far, many times coming from the bench with 25 goals and 22 assists. He is not a wide striker but playing in his position he tends to have a good end product.
He is involved in goal/assist in almost every big game there. Its exactly the contrary of what you said. The criticism on him is that he play well against PSV or Madrid then will be lazy against weak opposition in the league.

Don't get me wrong i would not sign him. I suspect that Ajax system was making all those players look good.

One question: who is buying James Maddison? Or, will he remain at Leicester?
I am sure, while staying healthy, he will be a better player than Pulisic, but I guess he won't sell shirts in N. America.
I hope Chelsea are after fullbacks, one winger and one striker if the transfer ban is delayed this summer. Kind of the same situation as last summer except that we instead got a better goalkeeper and a decent CM who was played in the wrong way by Sarri.

Yesterday match and the situation around the club just goes to show the sorry state of affairs.
we have been blaming pretty much everyone which is correct as everyone has to take the blame for this ... but everyone seems to have another side to it (my belief)
Sarri - For not been able to deliver his so called attractive football with consistent results ... But the other side of it is that going from a defensive/counter-attacking game play to tika tika possession based will need loads of time. And the players actually are not delivering the gaffer's plan.
Players -  For the pathetic approach in all the games and the missing in game intelligence ... but the other side is that so many players are not suited to the tika tika game play. Player power!!!
Board - For not providing or going after players who would be a real value add to the team instead of just revenue generated geography based players... but if we think about it the board has pretty much given Sarri what he needs in Jorginio & Higuain.
It just chaos all around without any order in place.
The owner and/or the board have to really step up and take serious actions to install concrete foundation else it wouldnt take much time to slip down from all sides. Really need some miracle now.

I turned the match off pretty quickly and went to sleep, but, I expect this stuff. I draw a direct line from the moment AVB spoke something that resembled the truth years ago. Chelsea don't have an identity, not a leadership group in the offices with vision. These facts were previously made unclear by the talent and leadership we had on the pitch.
I have a vision though: CFC are headed for full-fledged mediocrity as long as Abramovich and the Chelsea offices remain as they are.
Furthermore, Pep's entrance into the Prem has made things a little bit more clear. Chelsea won recent titles because other clubs were weak. Not so anymore.
