The super long contracts have bitten us in the ass a few times when players have been shit, but it is definitely a huge benefit with players who have performed. JP being contracted for another handful of years means we have zero reason whatsoever to even consider his sale. Much like Caicedo, he also strikes me as a guy who will be loyal to the club who gave him this opportunity to make the jump to a huge club. At least in the short term. That loyalty of course has to be repaid with success on the pitch going forward and if we have another season like this one next year then these guys will rightly want out.
