I've just read the Winner of the Europa league is automatically qualified for UEFA CL. is this true? Cos in this case one could ensure qualification to CL with much less games than going the league way.

No, that is rubbish and rightly so. Imagine the conspiracy theories that would be claimed if that was allowed? Teams would be accused of purposely trying to fall out from the UCL to qualify for the Europa League the following season. Especially if their league form is vulnerable.

Nope. Atletico are the current champions and they were in the Europa League this season. Winning the Europa League only quarantees qualification for the UEL group stages for next season, much like our qualification to the CL after winning it last year.

Great moment for Hazard. A defining moment almost and it has luckily not been the only one this season. I was a bit worried at the start of him not playing like he did at Lille. Obviously the PL is physically quite a bit tougher while his game is really built upon taking on players. But where initially he would rather turn and choose for the pass (and his passing has been good) he has improved with this goal, although against weaker opposition, a great example. He lives of these moments and they are what will make him more confident which is what he needs.

I am curious to see how he will evolve in a central role. Somehow I believe he really wants that position, even though which his talents he really should be on the wing I believe, with the freedom to cut inside. Also, with Mata at Chelsea, he won't find it easy to get a central role.

He also seems happy which is as important. Must have been something to come to the PL without speaking much English and in a dressing room that just won the CL. Then again, he is 22 and two times father. Mature guy for his age. Focused, driven and happy, what else can you wish for. :smiliecap1:

have just spent an enjoyable hour or so watching compilations of his play for us. As a pure left wing he is better than Nevin was better than Duff and possibly better than Robben

and Charlie Cooke ...Osgood would have got 50 goals a year feeding off Eden ,,,,,Greaves would have got a ton.
