zolayes 14,489
The Mirror is the worst possible paper in relation to true stories out thier, so I would take it with a pinch of salt. The best indicator is to check the latest bookie odds. This morning Hiddink is 2/1, Van Basten 5/2 and Redknapp is shortened to 3/1......if the bookies offer 2/1 then probably the true odds are more like 7/2which relates to a probabilty of 22%

The bookies have to reflect the odds on the amount of money being placed also. I guess there is a 25% probability at this stage he will accept it. Truth of the matter is other than Hiddink noone in the press knows Romans plans yet....

termninja 5,290
Hidink for a year here wouldn't be that bad though. Next year we could bring Guardiola or Villas-Boas :eyebrows:But yeah, it has it's downsides just as LDN said.

What is your main concerns with him??

However, I'm not sure that being a great tactician is so important in a knock out competition (look at Capello with England). Redknapp will play a 4-5-1 style that will get the best out of Torres, but his main strength is that players always give 100% for him and like him. With our situation Roman sacks managers reguarly and Redknapp does always buy good attacking players. As our defence is sound with attacking players required I just think at the current time Redknapp is a good fit for us. Not long term no but we never seem to have a long term plan do we? It seems to me also that he may be tired of leading a bit weaker club and not being able to bring some players he would like, so chances or him leading us are even bigger with that. If Guus doesn't come, I don't see anyone else there expect Redknapp who would be a "secure" signing. Jose and Andre won't come, Guardiola will stay another season, and Rijkaard and Van Basten don't give me confidence. Best 2 possible choice for me are Guus and Harry. Makaveli 59
Redknapp would be a good choice, no way. The best thing for me is that he finally would buy some British/English players. Players who can fight nonstop on the pitch and have endless energy and stamina. This is what we incredibly need.

LDN Blue 7,903
I prayed for Ashley Young but he is on his way to Old Trafford.. If we should some real interest, we could easily sway him! I still think Charlie Adam would be a great signing for an ageing Lampard & Sinclair from Reading (<- though that's highly unlikely considering how we treated him)

Best dead ball taker in the league plus he is not fit and overweight. A proper manager will get another 10% out of him....

Why can't we be interested in those players? we just aim at 30+ mils players
