AVB was lucky that BatMan couldn't afford the travel arrangements from Gotham City to London :whistling:

I thought Alex nearly had the job also?

Pipped at the last herdle i guess :D

Roman told me I would have got it but was too old for the length of contract he wanted...

Surely we're not just bringing Villas-Boas alone to the club ? One of the reasons , possibly , that we still haven't announced AVB's contract is that the suits are also likely working on bringing some of his backroom staff along with him . Wouldn't put it past AVB to have rounded up his team over the 2 days from the time Roman allegedly spoke to him on the weekend , find out who's staying and who wants to continue with him , and then made the decision depending on the response he got . He's not a one man operation , there's a whole setup with people assigned with very specific tasks , like Jose had/has with his team . The meticulous planning with the opposition scouting still holds true for this day with Villas-Boas with his people . Its possible that we're still working behind the scenes to sign up his assistants as well.

All speculation of course , but the whole affair has gone about in a matter of days , very very quickly - even for Chelsea standards . Wouldn't surprise me if there are still a few loose ends to be tied up before putting the word out . If I remember correctly , Carlo's announcement also came with the footnote that Bruno Demechillis was coming with as well .

Confirming interest?

What the hell does that mean? That's insulting to our intelligence.

LOL. What's even funnier is "We note that the release clause of Andre Villas-Boas has been activated" .

I'm pretty sure he won't be coming alone.

LMAO so true.

Then again, this is the first time they've actually commented about a target. Something they've never done, no matter how much we plead

They got me surprised with that statement. I was expecting them to bomb out an official announcement of his hiring. Oh well, some things change apparently :eyebrows:

Gourlay probably read on Twitter that some Russian chap paid it and thought he had a chance.

The last target confirmed by the club was Robinho, can't blame them for their stance ever since. Once bitten twice shy.

Haha that's true.

We can only hope they've released it now, because it's a done-deal!

'We note that the release clause of Andre Villas-Boas has been activated

aka We have serial twitter nerds who alerted us of this the same time everyone else found out and we can absolutely and categorically say that we had nothing to do with this .

We can at this time confirm our interest in him and hope to reach agreement with him on personal terms and make a further announcement in the near future.'

Ah , now that he's free to talk to anyone , we'll put ourselves in front of the line. ( Chatter in the background with the best lawyers/accountants drafting the contracts )

Ledgers show that money spent by CFC on Wed, Jun 22 = nil .

Take that FairPlay rules .

Haha you got that right mate. We didn't spend anything. It was Roman who gave the money to Andre :whistling:
