I have no problems with selling him but the question is to who. Don't want to see us sell him to Spurs or any of our rivals in the league as we don't need to help them boost their squad in any way. Sell him to Newcastle, West Ham, Crystal Palace or clubs that ilk or clubs abroad? No problem.

and why would newcastle, whu, crystal palace give 8-10mil for a reserve chelsea player?

selling BA to tottenham will not improve them dramatically. loaning out BA to arsenal as their 2nd striker would have made them a lot better and it was the right decision to not to do that.

again all this is hypothetical. there has been nothing in the rumors about BA but if tottenham do get desperate, we should let him go.

Because it suits their style of play of being direct and physical? And does it really matter if Ba is a squad or reserve player for us?

And how would letting Ba go to Arsenal make them a lot better while it won't if he let him go to Spurs? Whichever club he goes to between the two, he's likely only going to be a squad player or backup option.

cos arsenal have just one striker in giroud, their 2nd striker is BENDTNER. ba is a MASSIVE upgrade on him. hence it improves arsenal. giroud had a great start to the season but has been shambolic lately. so much so that arsenal fans want walcott to play there now. BA would have a good back-up.

on the other hand tottenham have a BA-like playr in adebayor - physical, direct. also its a big difference being a 2nd striker for a team (which he would have been in arsenal) and being the 3rd striker for the team (us and tottenham).

also if u think BA would get offers of 10mil from teams like whu and crystal palace, then u could not be more wrong.

also he will be going away next year, or rather for chelsea's sake i hope he does, and there wont be better offers.

Massive upgrade? Think you're over-estimating the situation here. Agree to a certain extent that Ba improves Arsenal by providing them a different option but both Bendtner and Ba are still average players. If anything, the latter is only more consistent than the former.

That might be true but you're forgetting that Spurs now play 4-4-2 and arguably a style that suits someone like Ba to a point and because of that, there's a good chance that he will get a good amount of game time. And moreover, what you have pointed out so far is only judging (or underrating) Ba because of his squad status here. Am by no means saying he's top quality but a decent player nonetheless. You're not even looking at the bigger picture and see how his strengths and quality would fit to the likes of Arsenal, Spurs and benefit them.

For starters, I'm not even the one who said he's worth 8-10 million. You did.

Ok, maybe Crystal Palace may not afford to pay that but teams like West Ham certainly can. They, after all, spent quite a bit on the likes of Carroll, Jarvis and Downing in recent times, didn't they?

in the first para u compare BA to bendtner, saying that i am over-estimating. in the 2nd para u say i am under-rating BA. please make up your mind. u seriously cant have it both ways.

anyways as u urself said, BA is a decent player. not a game-changer. tottenham are a squad of decent players and that is what is hurting them. they dont have a BALE who can give them a moment of magic and turn the game around. BA is definitely not going to be that person. dont even see how BA improves them when compared to defoe cos in all honesty BA and adebayor are very alike while defoe gives something different at least. on the other hand, when u think of BA in place of bendtner as a 2nd striker in arsenal with the like of ozil, cazorla, walcott behind him, it makes a hell lot of difference. hence the reluctance of him letting him join arsenal but nothing like that when thought of with tottenham.

i AM looking at the bigger picture. tottenham are no threat to us. we are PL contenders and tottenham are TOP4 contenders.

the tag of 8-10mil is said only cos i was speculating if ba goes to tottenham, a TOP 6 PL team and a team which is normally considered a direct threat, hence the inflated price and only cos of the inflated price would we even consider it. it is u who said we would be able to get 8-10 mil for BA from newcastle/palace/whu.

In the first part, I was basically saying that on the overall situation while the second one is on Ba's abilities specifically. And even then, it doesn't take the away the point I made.

That's too typical to say that Ba will flourish at Arsenal because he will have the likes of Ozil, Cazorla etc behind him. It's like saying he will shine upfront with Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Willian etc behind him but that has hardly been the case at all. Ba will just be a Plan B or C at Arsenal while he's more closely aligned to the Plan A at Spurs.

That maybe true but I would not like us to strengthen them in any way. We may be challenging for league titles but finishing in Top 4 is still a key thing and with the competition so tight now, to 'help' the other teams out is a no-no. Then again, each to their own I suppose.

I only went along with that 8-10 million because you said it and as well as assuming it's a hypothetical situation...

i never said BA will flourish at arsenal, but he will definitely give them a good outlet. instead of having a hopelessly tired giroud play 90 minutes of each and every game and by the end of those games he is sometimes literally dragging his legs, they would have BA take the pressure off him. BA may not have scored having mata, hazard, oscar behind him but he was good enough to be a part of winning PL games (when FT was playing in the europa league) and in the end helped us finish 3rd. arsenal would do well with the "winning part" of my sentence.

also u keep saying BA would be PLAN A at spurs and the only argument u have given to that is his physicality and directness meanwhile ignoring what i wrote in my last reply. how do u think BA (even if he is PLAN A) would improve spurs at the moment. but as u said each to his own.

Yes, I agreed with the notion there just like I already stated in the previous post.

I did actually and apologies if it wasn't made clear. Whether to Arsenal and Tottenham, Ba would improve them in different ways. With Arsenal, he will give them a different option/Plan B if their initial plan isn't working and/or be a decent backup option to Giroud. As with Tottenham, he will improve them by adding to their squad depth and when I said he's closely aligned to their Plan A because of his physical and target man abilities, if you like, I meant that he can fit it in seamlessly into given he's similar to Adebayor. Say if Adebayor is rested or injured, then Ba can come in for him in almost like-for-like replacement. And moreover, with Spurs playing 2 strikers these days under Sherwood, Ba is likely to get more game time there than he has been here.

u r still not getting what i want to say. probably i am unable to explain myself.

ba is a decent player. he has his moments of magic (city and utd) but he is also a very limited player. If BA is a player in any of the TOP 6 or rather TOP 7 these days (including everton), then he should be 2nd or a 3rd striker option (with all due respect to him). If Ba is transfered to Tottenham, and is given a first team role along with adebayor/soldado, i really dont see how that improves tottenham or makes a difference to us. and that is my main point. i dont see it affecting us in a negative way. BA + adebayor/soldado upfront does not have your heart thumping like SAS or Rvp+rooney. hence if we get a good offer, i dont see any point in not selling him since he is barely going to play a part this season and is definitely not going to play a part in the next.

No, I totally understand what you're saying. It's just that I disagreed with what you said. As I mentioned earlier, I guess it's each to their own. :)
