Wayne Rooney

I dont believe for a second Jose was telling the truth when he said yes to the Rooney or bust question. He's not Harry Redknapp, he wouldn't reveal something like that to the media without an ulterior motive.

It got out anyway so he just basically confirmed that we are indeed truly interested in Rooney. And I could see him being correct, Rooney is the only striker who would improve our forward line, Suarez is another but he will not come here and I don't think we want to sign second rate forwards like Soldado...etc. There are only 2 world class forwards left to buy this summer and that is Suarez and Rooney.

The hell?

That means f**k all. Managers lie all the time.

Ahh I think this is an isolated case. Jose has no reason to lie! Especially when he's just come back to Chelsea. Last thing he wants is unhappy fans.

Reasons for and against signing Rooney:

For:

1. Still one of the best striker in BPL and the world if used correctly

2. He is not just a striker, he is as effective in CF/CAM/CM and even on the wings when needed to be

3. His work rate is among the best there are in world football, he can joins defending pretty well when needed. This would suit us when we need to pack the bus

4. His shirt sell is among the most popular in world football, if I remember correctly there was a top 10 list in BPL and he was like 2nd or 3rd I think. THIS MEAN HE CAN MAKES US MILLIONS ALONE TO PAY BACK HIS FEE. There is the article I found http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2289560/Manchester-Uniteds-Robin-Van-Persie-tops-shirt-sales-ahead-Wayne-Roney-Steven-Gerrard-Luis-Suarez.html

5. He got plenty of mates here English wise in Lampard, Terry, Cole...etc

6. He is proven in BPL so people can stop complaining about that

7. He is quite complete striker, he can score goals from practically any where. Long range, header, free kick, penalty, open play...etc

8. He is not someone who will crumble under pressure like Torres. Actually because of his despicable personality, he can take any thing throw at him like Suarez which is a good trait for a top class striker

Against:

1. Just had a not so amazing season but he had to play in midfield most of the time and second fiddle to RVP

2. He want a long term deal on £250k per week min, which mean he will cost us around £12m each year for the next 4-5 years

3. His personality, but I believe Jose can handle this

4. His life style, it is not exactly perfect and this could hamper his fitness

5. Injuries. He seems to pick them up more regularly lately than before but I don't think he will encounter nay serious problem. And beside, we got Lukaku, Ba/Torres(one will be sold if Rooney comes)

We just need to sell Moses, so Rooney can have the # 13. Either than or Sell Moses, change Torres to 13, and give Wazaa the #9. It would be very weird having him in the 20s.... But really I guess if anyone were to take the #13 i'd rather it be Lukaku since he's called The Kraken. Just seems to fit....

Cue Van Persie.

I'm pretty certain he will wear No.20, if he signs.

I'll like him to take No. 23 personally if he signs this season and he can take 8 when Lamps leaves

Isn't Josh currently wearing #20 ? Not that Josh could stop Rooney from taking it.. But the only reason RvP is wore no.20 is cuz of the whole 19 titles looking for the 20th thing

Imagine Wayne pulls an El Shaaraway an wears the number of the year he was born (85)... Hehe that would be EPIC

I don't know if that's the main reason, if it is, he better change to No.21 then lol
