I honestly give up now.Jose wants the striker and if he wants him then who am I to dispute on the matter.I have no problem with the player but his wages are the only concern for me but since Roman doesn't see it as a problem, those few like me who are against this move shouldn't really care either.

Its all up to Rooney now, such an opportunity may not come again for him.To be able to play for a top manager and that too in the premier league while continuing to earn high wages just won't happen.

MOURINHO ON ROONEY BID

Posted on: Wed 17 Jul 2013

Following Wednesday's win against Singha All-Stars in Bangkok, Jose Mourinho spoke about a bid made by Chelsea to sign Wayne Rooney.

The Chelsea manager confirmed that a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of the striker had been made but that no other players are part of the offer.

'Chelsea is interested in this player, made a bid and what we did we did officially,' Mourinho said.

'Now we have nothing more to say, we want the player, we made the bid and now it is up to Man United.

'We don't want to make public the bid but it is just a certain amount of money and it doesn't involve players or players in the possibility of negotiation. No Juan Mata, no David Luiz.'

Mourinho added that he did not know Man United's response to the bid.

'Now I keep trying to improve my players and we will see what happens.

'From me no more comments with respect to Man United, my colleague David Moyes and my players.

'I trust my players and I am happy with them and in this bid I want to be respectful.'

So no De Rossi?

Without context it's hard to say whether he meant our only target this summer is Rooney, or that he's the only striker we're after. Considering Romeu was told that he'd be behind both Essien and Lampard, as well as the fact that Mikel is probably staying put, i'm inclined to believe it's the former.

After seeing Chelsea this afternoon, another striker is definitely needed.

Even though, Roonski is not my cup of tea, but somebody must be bought if Chelsea really want to challenge for CL, PL this year.

Forget him and go for Yilmaz or (i can't believe im saying this) Suarez. A mix of im that desperate not to see us sign Rooney and i don't want to see Arsenal's side strengthened means im breaking the previous stance i had on Suarez.

Had the same thought myself. To be honest I hate to see us do any kind of business with 'pool, especially after the Torres saga. However if a striker is to be brought in this window and the club have an actual interest in Rooney then why not just look at Suàrez who would CLEARLY be a better option. With his situation at 'pool I could see an eventual deal for him being haggled down to £35M if the player were to force a move at the end of the transfer window. Would constitute MUCH better value for money imo.

quickie for you guys, one slot left, de Rossi or Rooney? Go...

I'd probably go De Rossi.

We showed last year that we can get goals from all around our squad. We were. Overrun far to often in midfield, so De Rossi for me.

I want both please! Dear Santa....
