Are we having a cup this season?

Since more people have voted against it, no. Unless you'd like to vote for it then it'd be tied.

So guys, 3 leagues with 8 teams each or 2 with 12 teams? I'm leaning towards the second because we just had a very short season and a season with 12 teams would be somewhat of a compromise between having and not having a cup.

Anyone object to this?

It's worth trying i guess, i would wait to check out the opinion's of the long serving members before making a final decision however.

Changing the system to two leagues would screw the format up in terms of promotion and relegation - but it would make the season a lot more interesting. I would prefer to go for two divisions of 12. A 22-game season would be awesome.

Don't think the 22 game season plus the cup will work, that would be like my time in Costa rica X 2, and admit it time dragged without me around :Goober:

But yeah seriously imo it will have to be one of the other.

With my experience from my last time, hopefully i can build my team up quicker this time.

I quite like the idea of a bigger league, it's something different and it makes the title race and relegation races a lot more interesting. The only downside is that less teams get to actually 'win' something, 3 leagues means more teams can battle for the top spot instead of mid-table.

A very fair point. But, realistically:

  • The first division would consist of the Premier League teams (including those relegated last year), plus the top Championship sides from last season. Whilst it would mean there are still only two/three teams challenging for the title, it realistically means that EVERY other team is fighting not to get relegated.
  • The second division would consist of the remainder of teams, and the new teams also. There are some experienced players who will be taking up the reigns at new clubs, like Tomo, and yet even so there are so many evenly-matched teams that in that division there are possibly six-eight teams that will challenge to win the title.

So whilst there is a lesser chance of winning a title, there will actually be more teams actually competing, rather than having three leagues where in each division two/three teams battle it out for the title and everyone else settles for scraps. This will go a long way to determining who is the best at this game; not just in winning titles for the strong sides, but for teams like mine that has an average age of 22. It's a very fine balance and it would be a real challenge for all.

How about we increase the number of teams fighting for relegation/promotion to 3 instead of 2? That'll give more teams something to play for.
