A week to go and we have 14 active teams. What do you guys propose? 2 leagues of 7? Wait and try to get more a few more teams?

More teams.

One recruitment thread from Jim, and we'd gain an extra 10 members without a doubt.

I'd really prefer the current format with 2 leagues of 12. Then every other game wouldn't be against TermX, Blue Ultras or you. Plus it would give every team the opportunity to get some game time for every player in order to get some development going.

Problem is that would require us to get 10 more managers because the active ones at the time are 14 as I said. Practically 13 actually as Ankit has not signed in since October. We could do one league with 14 teams but then the gap between some teams and mine or Term's would just be HUGE.

Can't we have inactive teams in the lower division? I mean if there is someone who wants to join in in the middle of the season, he can take over one of those teams and practice against 'dummies'. Or you can't start a season without X amount of active managers? And in all fairness, there hasn't been much promotion for XpertEleven for a long time. As TermX pointed out - if Jim or any other popular figure would promote it then we'd be alright I reckon.

Sorry mate, inactive teams are automatically deleted at the end of the season. There's nothing I can do about it.

I'm all for the promotion idea. What do you, or anyone else, have in mind?

I think the admin/mod tag sells. If you or any other staff member would start a new thread / bump the old one, I think people would be willing to give it a go.

Going to sign up.

I had a team ages ago when this thread first start and got bored of it, has it changed much since then?

Concept is still the same. A few changes to appearances.

Thanks.. hope i can sign some decent players before our friendly :D

Transfer window opens on Wednesday. Good luck.

We have 20 teams now (one practically inactive). I'm thinking we wait to see if we get 4 more. What do you guys think? And what kind of format would you like to see next season if we get 24 teams? I'm thinking a quick 8 team-4 leagues season..

Just to clear something up because I've seen it mentioned a few times. Having a shorter season doesn't mean less development for players, It doesn't work like that. The rate in which you increase the players Development Value just speeds up, so after one game a youngster could be at 8 or 9 DV, for example.

A big bonus for a longer season is that you can climb the league table even though you might have had a rough start in the beginning. Plus not having to scrape your remains off the tarmac every other week after a game against one of the heavyweights is also something to consider.
