Rambo 1,729
Essien was shocking last year but lets not forget what he brought to the party before last year.At times his mere prescence use to inspire the rest of the team (especially Mikel).TBF, everyone was quite shocking last year. BlueLion. 21,491
Essien is not the player he was but he can still do a job for us.
termninja 5,290
Here's a fun little statistic for youRamires made the most dribbles in the PL. More then players like Nani and Aguero.I don't pay much attention to stats but the commentator said it last night.
BlueLion. 21,491
The way he's going, he could be a 15-goals-a-season wonder!
LDN Blue 7,903
The way he's going, he could be a 15-goals-a-season wonder! If he improves his technique he could. I've noticed an improvement in his passing, whereas before that wasn't his best asset.
francozola 2,040
He could easily be a 20goal a season midfielder if his touch and technique was better. He's definitely on his way to at least 12 goals though
Sheva. 5,373
He would score so many more goals if he could actually finish.

Kieran. 6,317
I'm home for the holidays and I was watching a Ramires video on youtube. My younger brother (who thinks he's ghetto when he clearly isn't) doesn't follow football but peeked over my shoulder and casually said, "damn, that nigga* fast."*nigga isn't offensive among youth in the USA. tnchelsea
BlueLion. 21,491
I only realised last night how integral this boy is to our team. That is coming from a massive fan of the player. I think a lot of other Chelsea fans will stand up and take notice of his qualities even more, now. Goalscorer and driving force of the team. sLOVEnian Blue, Badboy, francozola and 1 other

Goalscorer and driving force of the team.Yesterday we saw why i rate Ramires as our Player of the Season, his midfield play is vital for us. Our midfield is way to static with Lampard - Romeu - Meireles tnchelsea and BlueLion.
Tomo 21,751
I personally want to meet every hater who wrote him off this time last year and stick humble pie down their throat.Looking at our next team the first key players already seem to be emerging Luiz, Romeu, Ramires, Danny, Mata. Vital we keep all them fit this season. tnchelsea

BlueLion. 21,491
You can't just say we're winning/losing because of certain players, of course we have our game-changers, but frankly the great performances this season have been solid and professional from all eleven men on the pitch. Ramires just happens to be on the pitch at that point
termninja 5,290
Until you lose it, you don't learn to appreciate it.I was really surprised with how much we missed him yesterday. I hope he is 100% for Spuds.
Badboy 1,526
I agree Eldo but even if you look at those games look at how many of those goals were because of Mata. Ramires is not the best technically but i have noticed that his ball keeping skills have improved has anyone else ? I remember when he used to give the ball away every second touch. He covers in defensive area's as well as making runs forward, our midfield no longer looks static like when Ballack was here, he gives us energy ! termninja 5,290
Ramires' finishing aside, you could see today that he is our most important midfield player and how much we missed him against Wigan. He joins the attacks, drives the midfield forward, works his ass of in defense and starts and usually finishes counter attacks. Just to sort out that finishing and he could become one of the best midfielders in the world.Last year when he came I wasn't too much optimistic, but he has impressed me very very much so far.Brazilian answer to Essien? Respect BlueLion.
DYC. 7,542
Essien and Ramires are different players tbh, the only thing they share is their work-rate.But yeah, I too wasn't excited when he joined but he's made a big impact. Good for him and now the curse of the Chelsea #7 is gone. Only #9 is left..
Peace. 4,352
If he learns how to finish, and have a better ball control / first touch... He could easely becomes a world class player.
