bleed_blue 136
As you can clearly see that they are both playing at approximately the same depth both against the strong team where we had to defend (utd and liverpool) and the weaker team where we were on the front foot. So no, Ramires is NOT playing more advanced than Mikel usually does. In fact, if there is any major difference to take from these examples it is that, contrary to popular belief, Mikel seems to be moving more around the pitch while Ramires looks too restricted in that central area and around the halfway circle. Can't get any dumber than that.Moving more around the pitch can be proved only using distance covered not by these action areas.First learn about graphs, figures and logical interpretations and then start applying them. I did not say he runs more, I said he moves more around the pitch meaning he covers more parts of the pitch not that he covers more distance. And for the last time, stop insulting people. He does not cover more areas, he just squats around for long periods in different areas. Seriously, for the last time, watch a chelsea game and then comment. Amblève. 4,995
I'm not sure about the second yellow card, tbh. Luiz pushed Götze I think, so Ramires had no chance to avoid the contact but I'd have to re-watch that scene.
JDY 1,290
stupid guyIt was a clumsy tackle. Little disappointed with him but the whole team performance far outweighs one moment of madness for me.
Jase 43,479
Ramires's red card suspension will carry over to the Champions League. 1 match suspension. Will miss the opening game against Basel at the Bridge.
didierforever 7,349
how was a 2nd yellow. fuck the ref. but overall another poor performance. even before the red, he was not good. how did he get the wrong side of ribery and let him shoot. the goal was his mistake. the DM role is not for him, specially in big matches. I'm not having that. Everyone who played tonight deserved to win that fucking trophy. Hes not a DM, hes a box-to-box player but against a team that passes the ball very well for 70 or 80% of the game in your half hes a DM. Also in big games Ramires has fucking got us out of a hole, the Barcelona games for example, he was brilliant, even at RB. The 2-2 game against Spurs, he scored the second goal. Against City under Carlo, he sealed the game with that superb goal when City looked slightly threatening. To say Ramires shouldn't play in MF in big matches is a fucking shocking opinion. No offence. Also if anyone has to get a little bit of stick for the Ribery goal, I'm gonna have to say Cech looked like he could have done better, he won't be pleased but he's made so many MASSIVE saves in big European games so it doesn't matter. Even tonight he made some cracking saves. Dion
AfricanBlue 104
He got the ball but then he left his foot in so you can understand the card, not as bad as some were making it out to be, not like he came in two footed. Felt the ref was really inconsistent in the way he was handing out cards though I don't know what half of them were for. chelseathebest, Dion and Bosnian Blue

I feel Cech could have saved that. i dont know if mandzukic and muller were in the box, will have to see it again. but i am not being "picky" here. ribery cut in, took a couple of touches, unchallenged , shot and scored with rambo barely yards away. a DM whose main defensive job would have been stop that. kroos, muller, i can understand. but not to pick on ribery. as i said before unacceptable for me. also PICKY, no way. On a few more viewings I change my mind a bit and agree with you that Ramires could have done better. Cahill and Ramires positioning isn't great. Ramires gets sucked into the ball too easily. If both of them where slightly further to the left then 1) Ramires could have tackled Ribery or he wouldn't have seen the space to run into an 2) Cahill would be in a better position to come and close him down if he did. didierforever
Kojo 4,676
It was never a 2nd yellow for me just never. He was always getting to the ball first, and sorry but how can he help where he lands? He was running straight to the ball it's a fucking accident, oh what players have to dive out the way once they win the ball now?How anyone can agree with this crap it's fucking ridiculous, look at it from Ramires's perspective how the fuck can he move out the way of it? He has every right to go for that ball as he was first to it, so how the fuck can he help running into him?. What a stupid decision, European referees are the worst, they're stricter than Singapore.
