Is Kalou underrated?

He talks about how he would have 20 goals to his name this season if he had more playing time. Is this the case? Because it does seem he constantly provides the goods as a sub (usually when the game's already won, mind)

As a winger he certainly does have the pace, but he tries to much to be a striker, which is a problem because he can't seem to shoot at goal, yes he does have a knack of scoring important goals but only as a sub, when put on the starting line-up he is really more of a liability, going in pointless runs and panicking when he tries to get a goal.

Jesper Grønkjær was more consistent then him.

Kalou can't play on the wing, all wing play was lost when Ranieri left and Jose bought every central midfielder he could. Another reason why Robben and Duff couldn't succeed. But I do agree that I don't really see him as a striker either, as with the squad as it is, he doesn't really have a role.

BTW: FatFrank'sBakery is semi-ironic in an an affectionate way!

I think alot of people are very harsh on Kalou. I think in most games this season he has played well. That said he does waist some chances, but his passing has improved alot and he does not run into players as much as he used to. I think he is a good impact sub.

Kalou isn't good enough for Chelsea.

He's more than good enough as a super sub. No player of better quality than him would be willing to sit on the bench and plays only now and then.

Very good impact player, but from the start of a game doesn't produce what we would want. Incredibly frustrating player to watch at times. Again like with the Belletti thread i can think of a few players i would rather use an impact winger sub rather than Kalou because we could be building them to become great like Kakuta, Stoch, Sala or Tore...... Kalou isn't going to get any better now.

Kalou underrated? He's overrated as he somehow manages to get games for us even when Joe Cole is 100x better. Kalou is not fit to even touch the Chelsea shirt, let alone wear it in big games.

I have never disliked a Chelsea player more than Kalou. He is just useless. Always runnng with the ball trying to do everything himself, eventually loses the ball or falls over. Kalou = Kalouless. Like OllieCFC said... Underrated? He is overrated!!
