How about giving RDM a board position with a good salary so that he will stay to help the new manager whoever he is handle the dressing room and in case things go badly and the new manager is shown the door he will once again become an interim manager to rescue us?

Why would he accept that? If he is not given the job here, there are a hand full of top clubs who would be lining up to hire him after what he has accomplished in only three months.

Give him the job, Emenalo is a good Director of Football and can certainly back him up with quality signings. His media control, player motivation and tactical knowledge are already good enough to get him the job. He has great credentials now as well. In short, he is at least competent in the principal abilities of being a manager. If we let him slip we could rue the decision for decades.

We must appoint RDM now but there is one thing I'm concerned about. I'm unsure whether he would replace some of the old guard/Mourinho signings that are leaving this summer, with players that can be equally as good as they where/are. We will see though.

Also seen AVB congratulate Di Matteo and the team, big sign of respect towards how he feels about the club despite being sacked, also shows a bit of class as well. Hopefully Andre will continue his career at a decent club and fulfill his potential and become a top top coach.

He's gana have no trouble walking into another job if we let him go.But he deserves a chance here to show what he can do given time! Changed so much in a short amount of time..won 2 trophies..the Champions League for christ sake! And our league postion may have not been the best but minds were looking way ahead to the Final...and most of the time we were relying on teams to drop points anyway from the postion we were in once he took over

If he can get us up to 3rd next year and win a trophy while he's at it, even if its something minor like the Club World Cup (assuming we win the CL) or the Carling Cup then I think we should give him an extension.

A late responce but the club world cup is nothing minor next term we must win it.

Think of the bragging rights it will give us that we have been champions of the whole world.

Liverpool fans "come back when you have 18 titles and 5 European cups"

Chelsea fans "come back when you have been champions of the world bitch"

It makes me grin just even thinking about it, we must win the club world cup.

Really don't understand how he cannot get the job, and how some don't wish to give him the job. What more could he have possibly done to prove himself? Give him a one-year-deal, see how it goes, he deserves it. And for those questioning his transfer policies, I wouldn't worry about it, as he won't be the one making the decisions on that front anyway.

Not only does he deserve at worst a one year contract we also have to factor the huge pressure a new manager would be under taking over the champions of Europe.

The last 2 times the Champions League winners had a new manager in the summer they were both out on their ear by the new year (Luigi Delneri for Porto in 2004 and Rafa Benitez for Inter in 2010). If we replace Robbie in the summer the new manager will be on a hiding to nothing, for that reason alone most top manager's will stay well away.
