Borini's agent Marco De Marchi said: "He wants to stay in Rome. He's a joint ownership with Parma but, should it be up to him, he will be a 100 per cent Roma player.

"He's young but also intelligent.

"He understood he had to put himself at the coach and at the group's disposal to play at his best."

De Marchi also hailed the influence on former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti on Borini's burgeoning career.

He added: "When he was at Chelsea he found a second father in Carlo Ancelotti.

"He has been fundamental for his growth and for his career. He will never stop thanking him."

Borini receives first Italy callup

I watched the Glory of the USNMT & saw that Borini came in around the '65 minute. Sorry, I can't remember because I was in Dreamland. I am sure you Blues can understand, it was the first time I witness the Yanks defeat the Azzuri. I won't forget this day for a very long time.

He scored another one today against Lazio. He was heavily involved in game, one of the best Roma player. Also he plays infront of Bojan and Osvaldo in Roma team and we let him for free.

Great job.

Forget about him, let's just pretend he would have never made it here, and is better suited to the Serie A.
