Line up and result was on Maresca, Gittens was a bizzare buy and still say this now he's shit and not Chelsea level

We have to stop all this tinkering shite I know the best line up, Maresca is either a thick bastard or naive.

gittsen was board buy. Directors wants him because he is a city academy player

Maresca could play gusto at least

some of you want to rotate against brentford

liverpool against burnley choose his best line up

Smart decision.

True, they have the benefit of a better squad with less injuries, but you dont treat a PL game like a cup game against a small team.

We have 8 CL games to play. 1 away result against Bayern who are the best team in the group isn't going to be the big deal breaker.

Just like last season, Maresca seems to think that every European game is a costly knockout round.

I was shocked when I read people here ask to maresca rotate the line up

no one do that in away game versus a normal side in premierleague, specially when we are in the group stage and not in a advance phase of the competition

Because the defense was so bad we shouldn't rely on VAR saving us every game.

Just saw that first Brentford goal, incredible sunday league defense.

Also we have 3 RBs and you start fucking Fofana.

Fofana is shite, walks back in the team after being out for 2000 years

We had our chance to buy in the summer and like a striker and keeper we fucked it up

I have no sympathy with these amateur board people

I dont understood why maresca dont played gusto in first half at least

It's been done. Man city did it and won many titles. Yes, of course the coach has to pick and choose the games, but the key to it is the depth of quality in the squad. Numbers alone won't cut it if you intend to be competitive into the latter stages of multiple competitions.

There are at least two more games in a Champions League campaign than when we last won it, plus individual games in all competitions last longer than they ever have before. Obviously there are domestic games where only the top team will do but the ability to rest 4 or 5 players before a big midweek fixture, and 4 or 5 others the weekend after, is a massive advantage for any manager aiming to go deep in all competitions.

The problem of course is being able to afford to recruit and pay such a squad. We aren't there yet.

Things have changed since City won. The pressure of winning points is spread out over more games now in UCL and that’s where we can afford to rotate

The lower teams in PL have spent a ridiculous amount of money (even compared to seasoned CL teams like Atleti or Barca or Inter). We are looking at a very different schedule and difficulty levels between league, Europe compared to even 2-3 years ago

You don’t see Liverpool or Arsenal - the two best teams in the league right now - rotating a lot in their league games, even against lowly opposition

this is why almost every away game now its tough

even small/middle teams are good and with a lot of money

Exactly this.

Im still annoyed at the way Maresca prioritized PL and conference league games in the 2nd half last season. He always saved his best lineups for conference league fodder.

And while he rescued top 4 at the end, it was his fault (and Jackson's sending off) that we fell into a scrap with other teams for securing CL.
