mkh 594
Maresca meets one of his teachers!!! Maresca on his connection to Real Betis through his great spell at rivals Sevilla: "I met my wife in Seville, my first son was born in Seville but for sure I want to win this trophy for the fans." Again calls Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini his "professional dad". Edited May 8 by mkh
Vesper 30,187
Fiorentina had a clearly stronger side except for one HUGE flaw they have NO real wingers on their entire squad (not just for this game, I mean literally all their players under contract as they sold Nicolás González to Juve last summer, a loan with obligation to buy), other than a youth product, a teen named Mate Caprini, vauled at only £1.7m they also loaned (both with options to buy) Riccardo Sottil (to AC Milan) and Jonathan Ikoné (to Como) Edited May 8 by Vesper Stats and mkh 1
Pizy 18,918
Making history is making history, no matter how dogshit this competition is. So for that reason our players should be well up for this final. There is absolutely no way we should be losing to Betis. They shouldn’t be able to live with our best team if they’re all available in a few weeks. That’s not to say it will be a breeze but it would be completely inexcusable to lose this. Fernando and mkh

Most of the squad have never won silverware either. This is the best chance we'll get for the foreseeable future. Anything can happen over one game, tbh. If we don't apply ourselves or make stupid mistakes like previous games in this competition, we could actually be punished for once. I think difference in player quality will bring this trophy for me, and I expect the best eleven playing motivated in the final. (wherever the final is, Mogadishu most probably) In Poland. Btw Lavia and Fofana are not registered for this competition. Also Betis draw with Barca both times in the league this season and won against Real Madrid at home. Just like us they are also fighting for CL spot. Plus we have massive and probably most important game of the season just 3 days before this final in Nottingham. So, all in all, they are very dangerous side and we are not big favorites. Fernando, Reddish-Blue and Vesper 1 1
Vesper 30,187
Swedish media deliver their Reggie Walsh verdict after watching the Chelsea talent face Djurgarden https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/news/swedish-media-deliver-their-reggie-walsh-verdict-after-watching-the-Chelsea-talent-face-djurgarden/ Reggie Walsh is winning plaudits in Sweden following his performance in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Djurgarden. The young midfielder made his Chelsea debut as a substitute in the first-leg victory before earning his first start in the second leg on Thursday night. Walsh and his teammates won the Conference League semi-final tie 5-1 on aggregate and will now face Real Betis in the final. While the likes of Walsh and Tyrique George played well, with that final being such a huge game for Chelsea, you would expect them to drop back down to the bench. Walsh may not even make the matchday squad altogether, which is understandable given that he is still only 16. Swedish media think Reggie Walsh can go anywhere in football Chelsea fans were impressed with Walsh’s performance against Djurgarden, but they were not the only ones. Swedish publication FotbollDirekt could not get enough of the teenager either, claiming that he could evolve into anything one day. Following the game, they wrote: “The 16-year-old can become anything he wants. Chelsea’s 16-year-old Reggie Walsh was allowed to jump into the first match and made his debut for the Premier League team’s first team. There and then he came on for two minutes, but on Thursday night it was different. Walsh got the chance to start against Djurgarden and became Chelsea’s youngest player to start a European match — ever. “Although the youth of the super talent was clearly visible, many people were probably really surprised by the young Englishman. Walsh was responsible for a delicious action when he really spun up the defence and it feels like this was not the last we saw of the youngster.” snip bigbluewillie
