But basically everyone had a good game except for Cole who was anonymous for the most part. Nico gets a pass because he scored but he was pretty shit otherwise tbh

Problems with Sanchez are still there though, his problem has always been consistency - on his top game he is one of the best shot stoppers in the league, which was the whole bet that they placed when they bought him, that with a consistent run and a show of faith he could do it on the regluar. He has not been able to so he still has to go. Problems with Colwill also still there.

Just like the end of last season, we are doing very well against sides with nothing left to play for.

Nico was horrid today aside from the goal.

He doesn't look like he has the hunger to press and drive forward like he once has. Almost looks like a checked out thing. Wouldn't be starting him next game tbh.

I'm sure Nico can feel the lack of support he's had from the day he joined. Got fans and ex players galore publicly saying he's not good enough and they don't want him in the club.

Could not blame him at all if he wants to move on really, he's getting all the shit parts of being at a big club (intense scrutiny and pressure) with none of the perks (shit salary, no trophies etc).

I don't think we can mess around at GK / CB / ST. All other positions the fans will support young people who make mistakes and aren't fully ready but show potential, but those roles are just too important tbh ruins the whole team if they're not ready (they need to be able to carry the others a bit on bad days frankly)

To be honest, Nico has benefitted from the club's relutance to go and sign an experienced CF....and considering Nkunku has been un-interested for most of the season, he's the only CF we have.

Will be interesting to see how Sanchez and the team goes in the next 2 PL games.   Liverpool/Newcastle will decide whether the team is actually up for a fight for 5th spot or not.

What are we going to do about Palmer?

He's been shocking for months now, epitomising in yesterdays performance or lack of it should I say.

Thing is do we drop him? or play him as Maresca contiues to do so..... because for me he looks like he's going to be shit for a while yet.

But is he going to get his mojo back from sitting on the bench?

Yeah that will be difficult. Liverpool especially they're just a constant threat coming forewars so not expecting miracles there. Like say however they we'll be the ones fighting for something in that game so hopefully you can tell!

if we don’t get CL for next season and win the Conference League i think he will hand in a transfer request, it wouldn’t surprise me at all, but his attitude needs to change, you don’t become a shit player overnight, he has to show more professionalism that’s for sure.

Exactly. He's playing deep a lot of the time which explains the lack of goals, mopping up stuff, still being creative but also losing the ball. Think he will get his mojo back, form temporary/class permanent and all that, just need a bit more time. 

I think back to Rooney, Lampard etc went through complete barren spells. It happens

I'm convinced Palmer will come right, a lot of players go through bad patches actually all do including myself in my playing days, it's strange how your mojo comes and goes, However it is worrying cause it's been a bit extended in Palmers case.particularly as his loss of form coincided with our bad results. Let's see and hope.

yeah would bench (replacement permitting) but not wait until 70 80 minutes - bring him on second half or on the hour

This is where Enzo really fucked up imo. Prior to the Forest game at home Palmer was getting rotated with Felix and Nkunku. Then those two fluffed good chances and then he got played into the ground. 

Now I am not saying Felix and Nkunku where world beaters. However, as back-ups to rotate with Palmer for the last 10-25 minutes and the dross cup games they were serviceable. Instead Enzo threw the baby out with the Bath water and Palmer got told to do it all my himself, thus alienating Nkunku and Felix and ruining Palmer's conditioning.

We no longer have the opportunity to rotate and take Palmer away from the firing line.

Even if we decided on a 3 man midfield with Lavia, Enzo & Caicedo (and I don't mind this because this would force Maresca to play James/Gusto in their natural RB position), we will end up sacrificing a lot of creativity in midfield.
