I don't understand how we get compared to teams like PSG and Madrid

I really can't remember Chelsea splashing 80 million and 50 million on players constantly. Fernando Torres was one, but besides that our 2nd highest transfer was Shevchenko wasn't it? and how much was that about 34 million?

PSG have already spent 50 million on Cavani, 42 on Pastore, 37 on Lucas Moura, 33 on Thiago Silva and 30 on Lavezzi. Now it seems PSG are paying the price of Bale, so if they are matching the sum they are paying near 100 million pounds.

50 million today is worth about 25-30 million in 2005 though due to the inflation of player prices. In those days, splashing out 25 million on one player was a huge deal.
