Reece is just stupid, and him missing games next season won't matter as Gusto is both fitter and will offer much more in the future.

Good win all told though, Palmer's header was great and Caicedo out did the booing as he was excellent

VAR is not the issue it is the people using it, they are not trained full and just simply stuck in front of a screen and told 'do it'

The issue with VAR is human error, not the technology as you say. The inconsistencies in refereeing decisions across the board cause the problems. What needs to happen is that when centre officials and var officials mess up they need to be demoted down to a lower level and not just the championship for an extended period. Also, all poor decisions on their part should be investigated which will show bias against other calls they have made in the past.  If players and managers can be fined for unsporting behaviour so can match officials, once it affects their pockets they will do better.

The PGMOL are working incredibly hard behind the scenes to rectify referee errors and addressing what they can do better. I always use a simple comparison when it comes to refs and players being punished for mistakes- If a striker misses a 2 yard sitter, they are not vilified, demoted or left to rot on the bench they are told to not worry about it and keep on going with a pat on the back. If a referee misses a blatant penalty, and by your analogy should be hung out to dry, death threats and attacked at grass roots level, it's not going to work, but what will work is more hard work from Howard Webb and people at the PGMOL .

My son is 18 and level 4 referee now so I now see the inside and outside of officiating. I see the training, the fitness tests and also the examinations they go through and beleive me when I say this it's as intense as anything as I have seen before. My son officiates and represent his regional and now national CORE (centre of refereeing excellence) so he doesn't just your regular coaching at regional level he get's the intense and structured levels at national level.

As it stands there is no training given on VAR until you are at say level 2.2a/2b I believe. A big thing is also has the person officiating actually played the game to understand the game. A lot of referee's at PL level haven't even played the game and that is a big big thing, why might you ask? Well, an understanding of the game, not the rules of officiating as that is different but understanding game dynamics, pace of games and players and how they try and manipulate officials decisions, when those who have played the game actually act and understand.

One final thing on VAR etc, what they need to to and it is two very simple things to start getting better is clear up and sort the handball rule out, nobody knows what is or is not handball anymore. Secondly this offiside rule is abysmal, a toe offside? We have seen it with us, we get a goal disallowed for someone being level, the next week someone is leaning a yard offside and a goal is given.

It needs to be started again, officlas fully trained on VAR, rules cleared up with clear and concise of what is and isn't legal or illegal and go from there.

How come we don't have so many controversies concerning VAR in Greece ?
Greece was the land of sending referees to hospital:

Caceido MOTM again.

He can't pass, tackle, run, do anything though.

He had a good game, but MotM is pushing it.  He's really quick and energetic, but I don't see skill as his main attribute. 🤷‍♂️
Nkunku was impressive from the moment he came on until the very end. He hardly lost the ball without a foul at all.

I think Cuccu picked MotM in most places, and rightfully so IMO.

There were a lot of good performances in a team that is flying physically -- a bit late to reach a physical peak, but something Poch will have to work his fitness coaches.

I find this strange:
How come four PL teams in the champions league and only two in the Europa ?

much smaller total numbers of teams than the CL

58 for the EL v 79, 80, or 81 for the CL

and the Conference League is even smaller

40 (main phase total)
