Gallagher is just so slow in the head.

He starts thinking about where to pass the ball, only after he receives it. That's why he holds on to it for too long and just ends up either doing a back pass or giving away possession.

Some things just can't be coached I guess

Decent workout, that. We grew into the game. Gusto held up well against Mitoma which is encouraging. Chilly looks very sharp going forward. Colwill looks like an absolute gem with those long passes. Nkunku looks lively.

Only genuine concern was how our midfield 3 looked very poor and shaken against the aggressive Brighton press. BUT that’s to be expected with Gallagher and a couple of teenagers making up the midfield. With Enzo, Caicedo hopefully, and a 3rd midfielder (Kudus?) that will dramatically improve.

I love Santos one touch passing forward to spring our attacks man we missed something like that so many times last year. I feel like Jackson or Broja up top with nkunku in carneys roll could be deadly. Carney is a bit slow in seeing the pass maybe it’s just sharpness

Obviously midfield is our weak spot which is a shame cos that is where games are usually won. Defence looks solid and attack lively. Sterling, Gallagher and santos been somewhat underwhelming. The latter obviously still needs some time to adjust but the former two are just hopeless cases.
We have to keep in mind this is a newly assembled experimental squad vs a well drilled full strength Brighton side

Really impressive showing especially from our youngsters. It’s annoying to admit but this Brighton side is pretty brilliant. De Zerbi has them extremely well drilled.

Dahoud was a good free signing to partially replace Mac Allister
