That's partly true and mainly due to Lavia not being available...which has meant way more minutes for Enzo-Caicedo to handle.  

It really is a shame that we lost Kante and Kovacic, all that midfield experience gone.

What we need is to do with Jackson what Pep has done with their striker situation. They have Haaland as their first choice #9 and had Julian Alvarez who they’re now finally replacing with Marmoush as the backup option. Nico needs to be our Alvarez/Marmoush. Someone who still gets lots of minutes but isn’t someone we depend solely on as our primary goal scorer because he’s not elite.

Obviously we ain’t gonna get an alien like Haaland but there are absolutely elite level finishers out there if we pay the money. We’ve been willing to pay 100m+ for midfielders so I don’t see why our board are so blind to the fact that we may need to do so for a match winning goal scorer.

Alvarez was one of the better young strikers out there, part of the reason why he pushed for the move to Spain instead of hanging around as 2nd to Haaland. 

Not sure if Nico could play that sort of role, seems like he's the type that needs to start.

Agreed. And reckon they miss Alvarez a lot more than they expected to.
The hard work Jackson puts in esp in pressing high would also be missed. Jackson is often the only player pressing high, which is just wrong as a team.

The bigger problem is when he did the injury Enzo kept him on for another 30-40 mins or so plus half time. It was clear when he did it that he had a problem with his hamstring. A responsible manager would've taken him off straight away.
