Not getting on well with the squad and no pulling power for new quality signings, also too many media distractions would derail our season further. Everybody will know he is there only because the incompetent board couldn't secure who we needed. Sarri MUST get done! That is unless the club wants to become an utter and complete laughing stock. Cosmin 2,484
It's too late to keep Conte. Would've been an option if it was announced immediately after the FA Cup final.
Dimitr 488
Cor Sport | Sarri must find a solution to free himself from Napoli or Abramovich may decide to keep Antonio Conte for next season. Whoever turns up on July 8 for start of #Chelsea’s pre-season training will coach Chelsea this season. #CFC what a mess Johnnyeye

Pizy 18,903
What top players are going to want to sign for essentially a lame duck manager everyone knows the club wanted rid of? Why the hell would our players who have criticized how we played last season want more of the same? There would be a cloud hanging over us from minute 1 and every press conference will be questions about his future and relationship with the club. One poor run of results and Conte will be risking the sack. The only way I can see Conte staying and being successful is if we lock Hazard down for another contract and we go al out in the window and bring in 4-5 top players. The fans can then rally around him and back him like we always have done. But that feels impossible now. He must go or this season is doomed from the start. Or cheapest option? I'll bring my Football Manager records with me in case there's any competition. Already dreaming of that sweet pay-off. DDA 9,938
Groundhog Day. Conte staying on would end in a complete meltdown. Surely Roman isn't seriously considering this.
dreamcfc 182
It's a bad time right now, we have fans getting excited by twitter rumours that we are going to massively outbid Real Madrid for a goalkeeper, yet we don't even know who our manager will be next season. I would love to believe these rumours but we all know it's not going to happen. I hope I am eating my words in the next couple of weeks. Starman60 1,343
In fairness to Conte you cant expect him to meekly resign and walk away, and he has, at the moment every right to think he will take pre-season training. But by now, the fucking board should have sacked him if they are looking for a new manager, whether or not a new manager was lined up. At least we would then have some credible idea that the club wanted change. As it is, it's "Will he stay or is he going" and it's bloody frustrating. I am really surprised that Roman has allowed this situation to drag on so long over mere peanuts considering his wealth. At the end of the day he has the last say but is saying nothing. If it was my job I'd fire the arse of the board for allowing this to drag on so long. Someone's head needs to roll over this utter fiasco. Unionjack
Popular Post! Special Juan 28,141 Posted July 5, 2018 Popular Post! Share Posted July 5, 2018 This is simply a problem with the board, not Conte, not anyone else. If the club thought he was surplus to requirements he should of been gone at the latest a week after the FA Cup final, period. Sarri hasn't just been identified in the last week, he was identified a while back. This a theme, this is the board scraping and trying to chunk the odd million off the price of terminating ANOTHER managers contract, but in the mean time it's eating into preparation for another huge season. Conte will have a settlement fee for any termination in his contract that ends in an early break, rightly so he will be sitting tight, advised by his legal team and squeezing the club, yes the club who agreed to those terms to rightly stump up the dosh. Imagine anyone in that situation knowing you have the club with a new season to prepare for dangling by a string and desperate to get their old manager out and new one in. This is pure amateurish bad planning from CFC AGAIN. kellzfresh, Unionjack, kc_blue and 2 others

Sarri or no Sarri, If Conte is not in the clubs plans for next season then there is absolutely no reason why he is still here, other than our board trying to do things on the cheap. Absolute joke. Even if they were keeping Conte as a back up in case we can't get a replacement in (very doubtful I know, but im trying to think from the clubs point of view and be optimistic), this wouldn't work, it would be a repeat of last season, unhappy players, no motivation etc manpe
