The Next Manager?

I agree that Pellegrini has got his flaws. I don't exactly love his reserved, soft-spoken style. I would prefer a more 'In-Your-Face' manager actually but in the current market, there are only so few managers left for Chelsea to pick from and from that pool I prefer Pellegrini. You prefer Moyes and we've been at it for what? 24 hours now? my fingers are starting to numb from the typing. so let's just agree to disagree and move on now.

If Jose doesn't come, nobody will be excited by any new manager.

I agree. If it's not Jose, it's going to be a massive disappointment. Pellegrini, Moyes, Martinez even Poyet and maybe Simeone are all going to be second-choice. At least whoever we have will be more popular than the current incumbent.

I meant relative to Jose, it'll be dud

If Moyes comes - I'll be like - Okay, I hope he can sign 2-3 good players. Then we can challenge for the title

If Jose comes - HOLY SHIT! We'll be Champions again

Of course, with all the stories circulating around it might be now or never for Jose to come back.

It's better to start accepting the possibility of Mourinho not returning, and like i said already i don't really give a shit who the manager is, but i personally prefer Pellegrini to Moyes - i just never liked that man

The next Chelsea manager will be José Mourinho, its very clear, we just dont want to accept such thing.

We knew that he wont continue at Madrid, and the last couple of days a lot of rumours confirms what we thought, and surprisingly, José or any spokesman at Madrid did not denied this information. Now, José isnt the type of managers that take sabbatical year, and if he "quiet" its simply because he have found the opportunity to work somewhere else, its logical no ? Then, lets see at this time of the season, clubs that may change managers and are thinking to :

PSG : Carlo Ancelotti lost the cup yesterday, he may be sacked, but PSG directors confirmed him in press conferences after Barcelona's game, and lets be honest, if the board of PSG wanted Mourinho, we'd heard it, PSG have a great media influence through BEINSport and Al Jazeera Sport channels, we would at least read rumours of the departure of Carlo, but there is nothing about it, all at Paris are satisfied with Carlo's work, the fans, the president, their director of football too, Leonardo. For me , Carlo Ancelotti will stay, he'll win the Ligue 1 and since this was the major objective of Nasser Al Khelaifi, PSG's president, everybody will be happy.

Manchester City : Roberto Mancini saved City's disastrous season by qualifying and probably winning the FA Cup, plus a second place, they lost the title, but its seems that Mancini, with the United & Chelsea wins recovered a bit of his pride and in the same time won over the fans, so I really dont think José Mourino was negotiating with City, we'd also read rumours about it, but there is nothing, so City are surely not talking with José or his agent, and through José's interviews, he is talking a lot more about London than Manchester.

Other clubs : Manchester United, Liverpool, Milan, Inter, Juventus cant pay Mourinho, and we all know that he want to go to England. He said that he enjoyed living here, his family was happy, so he wont go back to Italy, or in France, and he said clearly that he wont coach in Germany.

Now, considering the huge amount of rumours about him coming back, its seems inevitable that he already took his decision, obviously, there is no other options for us, and for him.

I tend to believe what he says, seems pretty clued up whenever he appears on Sky Sports

Interesting quotes coming up by Spanish football expert Graham Hunter...

GH: "Mourinho has made it absolutely clear to Florentino Perez to find a successor and that he wants to leave Spanish football" #CFC #RMCF

GH: "Chelsea are in advanced talks with Mourinho but nothing has been signed as of yet which opens the opportunity for others" #CFC #RMCF

Graham Hunter: "The owner of Chelsea is heavily considering bringing Mourinho back; Jose Mourinho wants to go back." #CFC #RMCF #PSG

@,

The Champions League is a whole different level from the FA Cup. Everton winning the FA Cup is plausible, as you said, but Malaga or Villarreal coming even close to the final of CL isn't. He reached the semis once and the Quarters twice. That is THREE different seasons where he has taken his team to the Quarters or beyond. That is why his achievements in the Champions League is noted on his resume. Moreover, Pellegrini also finished 2nd in the league with Villarreal in 08-09 - 10 points ahead of Barca.

I wasn't comparing Pellegrini's record in the Champions League with Moyes' run in the domestic cup competitions here but more so both of their record in the respective domestic cup competitions - Copa Del Rey v FA Cup & League Cup - and they have not been very successful at it. And yes, I'm not taking anything away from Pellegrini's CL achievements with Villarreal and Malaga but he should not be overhyped because of that especially when you consider what he did at Madrid in the Champions League and even Copa Del Rey.

Pellegrini has his flaws. Both he and Moyes are up near the top of the list due to lack of options. Pellegrini is a bit soft-spoken and reserved. his record in the Copa del rey is rather alarming as you put it but apart from Jose, there is no candidate who will be widely accepted. The comparison we are making here is solely between Pellegrini and Moyes and tactically, Pellegrini is more competent and more suited to current Chelsea team than Moyes' rugged hard-working style.

About Moyes's playing styles, I don't necessarily think we can say for certain he is a manager that plays a rugged, negative and physical style of football. Unlike Tony Pulis, Moyes is more of a fella who has a mixed approach in the playing style, his Everton side are capable of playing good football and also alter its approach to the long ball one, if you like, when necessary. Furthermore, Moyes has limited resources at Everton and because of this, he has to try and find any decent player that fits the bill and mould them into a team that is competitive and strong. Yes with players like Anichebe, Fellaini etc, Everton does tend to be physical and lump up the ball a bit but with players like Mirallas, Osman, Pienaar, Baines and others, we can also see the other side of playing style implemented by Moyes where they play the 1-2s, short neat passing football etc. If we hire Moyes, think he is more than capable of getting us to play good expansive football with the players that we've got and also add some toughness into the team, who has been rather soft at times this season. Moreover, don't you think Mourinho will do similar things if he returns? I'm sure he will look to get some physical players into the team(which we need anyway) and instill a bit of physicality and aggression(which we also need).

It is funny because for the kids on Mourinho Thread, he is already here and whoever says otherwise is an idiot. However, I see a very intelligent debate about Pellegrini and Moyes in this thread, with Mourinho being completely ruled out.

Interesting, seems two totally different places...

What is your opinion about Jupp Heyneckes? He recently said that he won't consider retirement if there are new challenges.I like his style of play.If mourinho doesn't come,i will be happy with any of the three-moyes,pellegrini and heyneckes

I do believe these Graham Hunter quotes are genuine and that he is right. Seems somehow logic.

They are indeed. The guy above posted the link to where he says it, and Hunter also talks highly about Pellegrini. Provides a decent insight for those who don't know much about him/have their doubts about him.
