The Next Manager?

However, Mourinho is a totally different case. Roman and Jose are like ex-boyfriend/ex-girlfriend, one will only search for the other when they have no one else left. Mourinho has no other option besides England; there are no good teams needing a manager in Germany, Barcelona wont hire him and he wont go to a free-falling Italy. There are some very clear signs showing he wants Ferguson job and by going to ManCity he will totally ruin the chance of doing so, he still has a slight chance by choosing to go with us though.

Why? In the last few seasons, we've been more of rivals for utd than City. If managing another team will ruin his chances at Utd, then his chances have already been ruined during his time here.

Abramovch has everything but good options; apart from Klopp, Simeone (which I dont like) and Moyes, everyone else is either unavailable or has been already sacked. From the 3 good options, 1 wont definetly come (and why should he?) and 2 dont trigger any interest in RA that would make him give them the time needed. Neither Jose nor Roman will be extremely happy about it, but I think they will do it for lack of better options.

You are right about this, but you miss one huge point: Jose does not have leave Madrid this season. When he says his next destination will be England, he doesn't necessarily anytime soon.

Also, if the two go back together, it will probably be in common agreement. Something that will favour both sides. Mourinho will get the power he so desperatly wants and RA will get the trophies and media exposure he also enjoys. They will both give up on some picky aspects so they can thrive once again. I see it being one of the most secured jobs a manager can have, even Moyes would be jealous...

A lot of stuff in there depend on lots of "if"s. Absolutely no guarantee that Jose will get the control or that the trophies would be flooding in if he does.

Our last 3 managers only serve to prove managers need time and support. Mourinho will simply have more support than anyone I can imagine and if RDM got a warm atmosphere from the fans, Mourinho will easily double that. The fans love him, the media miss him and The FA will love the extra attention it will get (with Bundesliga so close to it). Parting ways with Jose will be more than risky to Roman, it will probably end his aspiration to make Chelsea the biggest club in the world. The rage will be unimaginable. It will need way, way more than a set of 5 bad games for him to get sacked, it would need a season like this (with a 6th place in the league) to get him sacked and with the amount of money he will have that wont ever happen.

Again I go back to AVB who cost more than any other manager did in history. He had a "mission" that Roman gave him. Roman promised him time and genuinely believed in him but ended up sacking him 7 months into the season. There is no evidence yet to show that Roman has realized he needs to give managers more time.

Jose will have full control of our squad and he is known to buy some star players (which will make Roman happy). It will be honeymoon for the first 3-4 years and after that things will get serious and dangerous. We dont know how long Mourinho will want to stay or how long Roman will be willing to give up on his sayings. Even with that, it wont be an easy "just sack him" or "I will just leave", it will be hard. I dont see it hurting Mourinho's ego if he had another successful spell. I prefer 3-4 great years and another hard time breaking, than what we are getting.

3-4 years? I wouldn't bet on him surviving 2 seasons here! We are a young inexperienced team; I doubt we can reproduce the 04-05 and 05-06 success that kept him here 3 and a half years the last time.

With that being said, how is this bad for Jose Mourinho's ego or how will Chelsea sack him again?

Think I answered those above.

So you're saying an egotistical man is worried about what will happen if he gets sacked? In my experience, egotistical men don't tend to countenance failure when approaching a new task. I think he's the same. In fact Chelsea have gone through about eight managers since he left and finished outside the top four last year. The bar has been set fairly low.

Roman is not a stupid man by the way. Torres cost £50 million so of course they need to try and make that deal work but he's shown he's capable of learning the error of his ways. In fact isn't every sacking of a manager a tacit admission of failure when appointing them? Wouldn't a man capable of admitting he made a mistake still have Scolari or AVB in charge?

It may well be a slightly different situation, but there's still history with the Barcelona guys and Mourinho comes with a lot of baggage. They've shown a dislike for such shit with Balotelli, although they did stick with Tevez. I don't think Citeh are the type of club we are, or the type of club that suits Mourinho. We've always been a glamourous club who place a premium on style (which is why it pisses me off when people moan about us going for the glamour names or the drama attached to the club) and we've got that arrogant swagger that Mourinho has. It's why he was such a great fit for us in the first place and why someone like Benitez would never be right even if he didn't have his history with the club.

That sounds plausible and I would like to be proven wrong because Jose is by far the best option for us, atm. But I still just think that if I were in Jose's place and am leaving Madrid in the summer and coming to England, I would chose city.

The first part does not necessarily imply the second. Remember AVB? Roman promised him time and believed in his project so much so that AVB said he sees him self still at Chelsea in 10 years and in the end all he got was 8-9 months. Roman likes to show everyone who is boss, don't think that's going to change anytime soon.

I was actually going to mention this, but I thought the differences between AVB and Mourinho are pretty clear...and I seriously doubt Roman actually wants the manager merry-go-round to continue in this vein, especially when you consider Benitez has the worst record ever and he's still in a job...

I'm not convinced Roman is bothered by all the managerial sackings. It may be to him the reason of the club's success as some members were arguing when we sacked RDM.

there is a very real possibility that Jose would want a new adventure. City or P$G offer something fresh for him to take up ...build a new team there.

He mentioned in his press conference before the United match that his next destination is England after Real Madrid. PSG are out of the equation now!!

Hiddink talks about Anzhi and more...

The 66-year-old's contract is set to expire in the summer, but he has indicated that he would be willing to stay on longer.

"Let's see what happens until the end of the season," he said. "It looks pretty good right now. I'm having fun here."

Hmmm... Jose Mourinho. He's apparently coming back to England after Real Madrid. He wont be going to Tottenham or Arsenal, he wont be going to Man Utd now by the looks of it after all i've heard in the last week and i was also hearing that the Man City hierarchy are big fans of Barcelona and absolutely hate Jose Mourinho.

Jose's wife and daughter have moved to within 5 minutes of SB in the last few months as his daughter is doing college here. Not just in London or England but 5 minutes from Stamford Bridge and Chelsea only have a manager until the end of the season.

Even though it still only feels like a pipe dream that he will come back, it does look very much like it really is going to happen. Seriously... who else really is there? There can be lists of 100 people but we all know that there's only 1 man.

If this is true, it's terrifying.

Roman can't continue on doing what he's doing with managers for very obvious reasons. Look at it this way: he's sacked so many managers, we're actually considering to rehire a sacked manager...we've gone full circle. It was only a matter of time really, because Roman is going through managers like they're free cupcakes, and there are only a select number of managers who are capable to handle a club of our calibre. Roman is fast running our of options, who is there to chose from?

Eventually we'll just have two categories of manager: those that Roman has already sacked and those that are too scared of him to take the job (Pep). We'll be stuck hiring mediocre managers (Rafa) and Roman continuing to fire them, year in, year out. By the summer, we'll have gone through 3 managers in a year. I don't know about you, but I kind of laughed along with my non-Chelsea mates when they'd joke about how many managers we've gone through. But now? Now it's only embarrassing.

You said yourself that he told AVB he'd be given the time and space to shape the squad, he wouldn't have said that if he didn't, on some level, want stability as well.
