What clause? Didnt Sarri get the boot?

He got the sack but didn't get his contract terminated. Idk how that's possible but that's what I've read..

Is he not reffering to Conte's clause? If not it's another fake news becsuse yes Sarri has left. Well that is the understanding I am under.

I don't believe he's actually been officially sacked. There's hasn't been an official message from Napoli saying he's been sacked just a message from their president thanking Sarri on twitter.

On the official Napoli site he's still listed as their coach.

Always though it seemed a bit too easy. Why would Napoli sack him and not get the 8 million ? They know Sarri is in demand. Why pass up easy money ?

Idd, the clause expires may 31 (not 22). After that, Chelsea would have to negotiate with Napoli and pay alot more than the 8 million. Yeah i know, De Laurentiis is a nutter.

So strange because Napoli have another coach already and these journos still speaking about a release clause. Makes no sense whatsoever.

I think its the same with Conte if we sign Sarri. We wont pay Conte a big one time compensation but pay his weekly wage until he find himself a new job or his contract expires.

Edit: Well @Superblue_1986 just said it perfectly.

Yeah I've read this. Napoli have replaced him but not actually sacked him from the payroll.

This is technically what we do with our coaches now when they leave, they are placed theoretically on a 'gardening leave' style agreement until they find a new job. The difference here is Napoli know he has value and therefore will want a fee to release him from his contract.

It's worth Chelsea doing things above board with Napoli or finding an agreement that ADL is happy with. Napoli have some very good players, particularly in positions we're crying out for this summer (namely Koulibaly and Jorginho). Having Sarri would also give us the edge over attracting them in my opinion so we want to ensure we have a good relationship with Napoli moving forward in case we want to enter negotiations for one of their players.

Sarri has been replaced yes, but is effectively on gardening leave. Still being paid by Napoli; Ancelotti is actually, contractually in some way, still tied to Bayern until May 31st. And until that date they're still paying him. So although he has been announced, paperwork wont have been filed yet as it cant until June 1st im guessing.

Be like Conte getting sacked, and being announced tomorrow as taking over Barcelona for 2019/20 season.  Although he has got a new job, we would still have to pay him until that job officially starts. Even though he has signed for Barca

I think?!

Wonder what the odds are on Mourinho having a typical Mourinho 3rd season, getting the sack after again finishing miles behind City, and then Antonio becoming their next manager. :D

Would be typical Chelsea if Conte in some way comes back to haunt us in the PL.
