The Next Manager?

If we get Pellegrini we will look so small time.  A manager our rival just kicked out to make room for a much better one... After his years at City I've started to dislike him more and more, would have been ok with him coming here when he still was at Malaga tho .

Not many options left... Quique Flores anyone?

A lot don't like it but they are just being biased. He really is a talented manager. Sometime he doesn't know when to stop attacking but that is what a lot of people want, no?

Like you said, "a lot of people". Not everybody. I want to see us play good attacking football but not at the expense of being vulnerable defensively.

If next season we have Pellegrini, no Terry and Ivanovic as captain i'll be close to done with football

Simeone, Conte and maybe Sampaoli can be our floating device.

It is hard to have one without the other. It's a double edged sword.

Mark Hughes for me. If he can get bloody Stoke playing half-decent football than he can do it at Chelsea.

Fair play to City for having the ambition to go for the #1 manager in world football and have him accept the offer. No doubts he'll bring new ideas to this league & have immediate impact. City will back him with loads of money and establish themselves as a Champions League contender from now on, head to head with Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern et al. Although for me they are not even in the top 10 biggest brands in world football, all those dodgy sponsorships they've pulled off in the last years helped & will help them go on profit year after year, although they have never been on profit on the transfer market since the Arabs took over, nor seen anyone on the streets wearing a City shirt. Plus the empty seats at the Etihad - not the sign of that big brand they keep talking about.

Meanwhile we are being linked with the likes of Mark Hughes and Ranieri. I think I'll go nuts if next season the board appoints some puppet that has no word on in & outs and keeps playing the same dull football and outdated tactics.

City are on the big stage for five years and an absolute joke in Europe, never got a sniff to a quarter final in Champions League at least. Still they are able to attract the best manager out there, while Chelsea FC a renowned brand in world football, a lot bigger than City, fucks around and can't get him to at least start the negociations because we can't grow a pair and at least once let a manager come in and to the things his way.

Dimarzio said that Conte,Allegri and Simeone are candidates.

I swear the only reason they are getting rid of Pellegrini for Pep is because the latter is the second most famous active manager in the world. Not to mention he is quite good at what he does.

Sure. They want to strengthen their global brand. Not a bad way of doing it..

This summer is going to be fun. Mourinho set us back 10 years so the club has decided to rebuild again. Excited to see which players we'll bring in. Stones will definitely be our #1 target. Pogba should be our first choice marquee target. We'll probably also target the likes of Sane & Barkley.

Do you think we can lure Pogba in without CL football? Seems unlikely to me. I agree on Sane and Barkley though, they wouldn't be put off by no CL most likely.

Meh, I don't care much about Pep to City.

I think at United would have been far worse since United got the bigger budget then all of us.

Oh well we will move on. One thing is for sure, league continues to get better and better. And everyone in the league will love to give  a game against City because of Pep being there. So might make it harder for them.

Real Madrid is scoring goals for fun under Zidane. Maybe its time to bring a former club great like Zola and allow him to bring through youngsters playing attacking dynamic football and look long term.

Although he needed to go no way has he set us back ten years.

The last two an a halfgames have shown this squad has a lot of quality, this summer is vital but a good appointment and a astute transfer window will have us challenging.

This isnt like 2012 when we dropped out of the top four only for Munich to save us, back then we needed a over haul and 6th was about right given the squad quality, this season has been the case of a quality squad having an real fluke shitshow of a 5 months, a bit like Dortmund last season.

On both counts, I fully expect the club to fuck up both the managerial appointment and transfers this summer.

The board is beyond hopeless now.

Yeah I feel the same. I don't think it's all gloom and doom as people paint it out here. Just because of City getting Pep and maybe United with Mourinho.

We can still do good, I mean look at the league. Even smaller teams are doing good. Who would have thought Leicester would be doing this good?

All it matters is this summer as you stated.

Do you have a manager you would like to see? I for once find the Conte to Chelsea rumors interesting.....

Di Matteo won the Champions League and wasn't given a full season. As much as I'd love to see it, this club is never going to go for it.
